Alan wake is going to be a great game. the graphics, story, great action adventure made by remedy who made the great max payne games. It also has new few features like it raises or lowers difficulty based on your playing ability. Cant wait!

If you're looking for a more adult focused game that has some of the best atmosphere and story telling around, then this game is it. It has a lengthy singleplayer campaign, but due to the fact it's a survival thriller, it does not have co-op or versus multiplayer. The graphics are quality, but not quite up to 'system seller' status. The combat is exciting and well done, but can get a touch repetitive by the end. This game is targeted at an audience that favors video games as an interactive movie or a way to tell a great story. This game really isn't for those that like to skip all the cutscenes.

The people giving this game all 5's are just as bad as the ones giving it low ratings without having played it. I'm about 3/4 finish with this game and must say that it is a pretty good game. The combat isn't all that great and pretty repetitive but you get a decent amount of weapons and the story line more than makes up for it. Good sound and the graphics are OK. Overall good game and one that everyone should play.

While I have expanded my gaming repertoire over the years, my heart will always lie in suspense/horror. A SH devotee probably 'til the day I die, I have to admit to being a bit let down by the last few titles (Homecoming being the only exception). Alan Wake turned out to be a wonderful return to the genre for me. Of course the graphics were breathtaking. The scenic aerial views of the lake and mountainside were breathtaking - the mountains even serve as the theme to my XBL account. The story left a little to be desired, but not so much that it didn't keep me interested. I loved the episodic nature of the game, which made if feel more like an interactive miniseries than a video game. The controls were wonderful for a three-thumbs like me, although I do wish Alan could have loaded his weapons a bit faster. Also, I wasn't too in love with the final episode of the game; to me, the obstacles began to get a bit silly. All in all, it was worth the cash I paid to pre-order, and I am greatly anticipating the DLC and any rumored sequels that are in the pipe.

It has an intensive, immersive and compelling storyline which kept my interest until the end. Gameplay was varied and stimulating without being too difficult ( I played on the easiest setting). The ending was a little confusing and I was disappointed but until that point I thought the game was tremendous.

A tight, atmospheric experience. Enjoyable from beginning to end. Good pacing, good length, excellent voice acting. Interesting and unique gameplay. Highly recommended to everyone.

Alan Wake will no doubt be not only the greatest game this year but the greatest video game ever created. This is definite Game-of-the-Year material. The graphics top any PS3 exclusive (e.g. Heavy Rain, Uncharted 2, Killzone 2, etc.). This will be one of the most story-rich games ever, with a thriller element tied into a full action game. There will also be immensely engaging daytime scenarios that will allow you to freely explore the beautiful but mysterious town of Bright Falls. Ultimately, this game will set a new standard in engaging, story-driven single-player experiences.

Excellent game.. Playing it with headphones and the sound on this game is crazy! Super intensely scary at times, makes you feel like you're in the game. Very exciting, highly recommend this one!

This game is awesome. The gameplay is pretty good. It is creative and has a story that would not let you put the control dowm, it'll grab you from beginning to end. Good Luck!

Alan Wake is an awesome game. It's suspenseful and original. The storyline really draws you in for many hours of game play. Everyone should play it at least once.

been reading about this game since 2007 and nhow tht ive fginally go6 to play it i can say the wait was worth it having free downloadable content is nice and trhe way the story unfolds keeps you guessing . the game is a bit short imnearing the end and have olny played maybe 8 hours andthe combat can seem a little bit overwheling and klunky at times but overall a great buy for someone who like a suspense

Gameplay and graphics are solid, but not mind blowing. The biggest feature you'll enjoy is the story and the way its delievered. The game is setup in episodes, much like a tv show. In fact, the whole game feels like "Twin Peaks".

Starting out the control's of Alan Wake may seem a little loose, they respond quickly but changing direction and such has a moments hesitation as you really would going from running one direction to another. When you play Alan Wake you will feel as though you're watching a wonderfully written TV Drama.

Basically if you just want some achievements, buy this game; Otherwise do not pick it up. It was really short and wasn't at all hard. I played it on the hardest level available, because the Nightmare difficulty is not avaliable until you beat the game and I beat it in about 8 hours. You will get startled a time or two and the story is great, but this game does not live up to the hype surrouning all the years it took to develop.

Dont believe posters giving this a low rating without having played it. This game is like being immersed in a good X Files episode...will change the way vodeo games are designed!

I absolutely love this game. It is one of my favorites. I am now playing through it on my third time. This time on Nightmare Difficulty.

Excellent story telling and a great thriller. Graphics are fantastic. Sounds are erie. Its everything you want in a action horror game.

Very reminiscent of Silent Hill with the creepiness factor. Play it in the dark!

Alan Wake is such an amazing game! If you have been debating playing this you need to pick it up and give it a try. My girlfriend watched me play it all the way through and it kept her attention the whole time. The story is immersive, the backdrops are original, and the gameplay is just downright fun. Support Remedy and let's get a sequal to this awesome game as it will leave you wanting more!
