Had an att go phone sim , works fine , but be ware google play will cost you money , I began loosing money without using the phone for calls while connected to the internet , had to disable google , just kept Chrome, my phone didn't come with an Anti virus program , installed Lookout security . My phone didn't have the POP logo on the back , not a big deal as long as it works fine .

So the bad, memory is limited, the camera is just okay, and if you have multiple apps open it gets overwhelmed and will freeze. The good, the screen is bright and clear, it downloads and navigates the internet well, durable, and battery life is pretty good.

This phone is such an outstanding value. No need to pay those carriers the outrages prices. Camera HD. Only drawback is built in memory only 8GB, but has microSD slot. Get THIS phone.

Used the GPS for the first time and it worked great! Some technical difficulty with receiving email and downloading apps; cannot receive email and apps only download half way and stop - very frustrating. Not sure what is going on. Even called my service provider and they had me reset my phone to factory settings, which hasn't worked yet! Don't let this review stir you away from buying the phone, because all in all, it is a great phone for the price.

No problems to this date. Functions excellently. Would recommend to friends. I have no complaints whatsoever. Excellent for personal use and/or to give as a gift.

Quality product for half the cost. Alcatel needs to have more accessories available for the phone. Searched all stores but finally found it on Alcatel site.

Used the phone on vacation to Ghana West Africa and it exceeded my expectations. Didn't hv to do much to get it going. Once my SIM card was in, all functions and apps came alive and I was ready to enjoy my vacay. The camera was good for the price paid. I'll highly recommend it for anyone to buy.

While mostly functional, this phone is slow and clunky. The GPS service is mediocre at best. You get what you pay for. This phone is a good example of why we buy iPhones. But my 9 year old wanted to play Pokemon, and this was a budget solution.

It is as good as having a Samsung or Iphone. Glad I purchased it.

My prepaid card brand wasn't listed in the phone. A pre paid card S T operator politely helped me set up my phone. We entered some numbers and data into the settings now everything works great. The extra sensitive screen is very good. The screen doesn't appear to discolor streak or smudge if pressed firmly like some expensive display model phones. I don't know if its glass or what seems to be durable material. This quad core phone easily plays videos well and connects to the internet just fine. No need for a fruity signal booster antenna case yet. The battery life seems pretty good depending on what screen brightness and volume settings are. I carry a cell phone shaped 11000 mAh charger because my cell phone gets heavy use. However there are many factors or app settings influencing battery life. Take some time to turn off some extra junk running and customize your settings. The speaker settings are loud enough. I called the house phone and spoke to it on speaker setting listening to my voice using the cell phone. I believe the pinhole shaped microphone near the usb for charging.that's where my voice came through the loudest. Finding a skin for this 5.5" was tricky. The Alcatel Fierce XL 5054 fits this 5054S just fine
