fantastic purchase at the clearance price. I'm still pinching myself at how cheap I got this for! , this Alfa Moderno does not let you down with build quality. this unit is gorgeous and extremely well made. extremely heavy for such a small oven. 80lbs. if you can grab this at the Nov 2024 sale price, you can not go wrong. there is no other pizza oven on the market that can touch this at this blow out sale price. in 50 degree weather, preheating oven for 1 hour my stone temp lazered at 850degrees. perfect for neo pizzas. for any other pizza this oven will be up to a lower suitable temp in 20-30 min. the fit and finish of this oven is second to none. fantastic oven . Alfa quality is 2nd to none. I held off for the longest time purchasing a pizza oven because , well, most of the ovens under $1,000 just look like cheaply built toasters and the ones I like were simply out of my budget. This Alfa is a great oven.period.

I have had my Alfa Moderno for a year as of this writing. I chose this model as it is both beautiful and it has brick oven refractory stone as the base. All other portables that I was able to research have a much thinner base stone and therefore need to be reheated after every pizza. The oven is well insulated, holding heat very well without getting hot on the outside. The unit is advertised as able to reach 932F. The best I have gotten is 800f after an hour of preheating. But, because of the thicker stone base, it holds 750f at the base very well and I typically cook 24+ pizzas in a row at parties with no issues. My cook time on a 67% hydration dough is about 3 minutes and I am getting a nice crunchy crust on top and bottom. The oven is big enough to cook a 12" pizza. 11" seems to be the sweet spot with a 250g dough ball. I cooked alongside another popular brand portable at one of our parties and the pizza had to be constantly turned on that one (Oo)(ni) to keep it from burning, where the Alfa Moderno has enough space to allow the pizza to cook evenly without burning, turning the dough at about the minute mark and again at the two minute mark, then I turn down the flame for the last 60 seconds to make sure the crust is nice and crisp. Once I take out the pizza, and turn the flame back up to full to keep the stone hot for the next pizza, usually about 2 minutes later. I was a bit peeved that the product pictures showed a carrying bag but it does not come with it, nor could I find where to purchase one. Alfa clearly needs some better product line management in the USA, but the product is good.

More than expected. Being Italian, knowing who produce it , and after watched few reviews from napoletan pizzaioli made in Caserta and Napoli, I told myself I am ready to buy it! First pickup arrived damaged in the front left bottom corner, they replaced it and the portable arrived after 3 days. Great customer service. The oven reached the temp in 30minutes according to the gauge temp but the klinker was still not hot enough so I had to wait 30 minutes more but after that, the stone was over 380 celsius…the oven performed excellent, check the pictures about the result. I recommend this oven to a friend. Btw, unbeatable price considering the quality of this oven since it is not a toy like what you get around from competitors. Trust me.

Best Buy was awesome. On time delivery and unfortunately Best Buy had to return it no questions asked.
Alfa’s warranty response still blows my mind. New out of the box the oven’s gas would shut off at 400 degrees. After basic testing the burner needed to be replaced. What should have been just 5 screws and a quick fix turned into a week of back and forth with Alfa’s customer service team before the finally directed me to return the oven to Best Buy and “try another one…”. Yeah hard pass, moving on to a competitor. Look elsewhere, clearly Alfa has an issue with this model and they don’t even want to try to fix it.

I also bought this oven at the clearance price and am telling you, buy this before they run out. You will never see another oven that's this good at this price.
I will concur with others that this oven takes about an hour to get to a deck temp of 800+. Mine reads about 850 on the flame side and about 750 away from the flame after an hour. I do not believe this will get to 900+ on the floor. I am not a neo pizza expert, but the proper floor temp is 380-430c according to AVPN.
The flame does curve with the dome some, but it does not run across the length of the oven like some competitors. The burner is 24k BTU according to the sticker on the back.
I did have an incident where the flame came close to blowing out from a wind gust with the door off, but we're talking 25+ mph wind that caught the oven just right. I don't think wind would be a problem on a normal, breezy day, especially if you use the door. You can still see the pizza with the door on through the hole.
One small thing I'd like to clear up: the floor of this oven is 40x40cm, which is just under 16x16". The door is about 14.5" at the bottom and tapers immediately. There is enough space to get in a 14" peel and launch it, but it's tight.
Most of there small ovens will advertise a max pizza size (like 12", 14", etc) but you can barely squeeze a pizza in and only have like 1/4" in each side, which means there is no way to create separation between the pizza and the flame. This oven legitimately has space for a 14" pizza, and is swimming in space if you make 12" pizzas with a 12" peel. It does look small, but not compared to the baby ovens from Ooni and the like. Unless there is some cheap knock off somewhere, I believe this is the cheapest oven that can fit a 14" pizza (at the clearance price).
