It is absolutely stunning how impressive it looks in 4K. I never thought I could see another movie like this, let alone my favorite movie. The steelbook itself is also pretty cool and doesn't seem as cheap as some other steelbooks I have gotten, but all the extra 40th anniversary extras in this make it worth it.

The 4k transfer for this film is really amazing especially for 1979. Comparing the blu ray to the 4k just pops out so much more detail.

Best 4K transfer there is. Perfect disc to test out your new 4K OLED and surround sound system.

40 years ago, Ridley Scott terrorized is with this slow burning intergalactic thriller. It’s amazing to see how well the film holds up today. With a 4K Blu-ray transfer like this, the film holds up even more! Excellent shadow detail, skin tones and haunting sound make for a worthy purchase for fans of Alien!

If you know Alien you don't need to be told how awesome this movie is. Now it looks the best it ever has. I have two other copies of it and then when this version was available for pre-order I bought it sight unseen. I am totally satisfied with my purchase. For diehard fans of Alien it's no hesitation, just get it!

I have always loved this movie and owned it in a number of different iterations. After watching the 4k version, I was impressed with the picture quality. I have taken off a star for the lack of special features but I will be keeping whatever blu ray version I have for access to special features. Some folks may like or prefer the audio commentaries but they're not for me. I would rather have had a boatload of special features on the included blu ray if they couldn't fit on the 4k disc. For me, even though I own this already, I was still happy to do a double dip to get the improved quality of the 4k.

I still remember sitting in the theater 40 years ago watching this movie on a big screen air conditioning made it cold what the movie had a chill all of his own yes 40 years later Alien is still one of the best films I've ever seen

The UHD is not elite. (See Blade Runner, Dunkirk, X-Men Apocalypse) But for the most part the lighting, dynamic range, and resolution set this far beyond the old blu-ray. But the planet the crew orbits had a distinctive, vibrant in the blu-ray. It can barely be seen in the UHD, the most glaring of the few visual flaws. Audio is solid, price is quite good. For $15, do not hesitate. The film itself is stunning, a landmark in horror and suspense. My rating: 83/100.

I saw this movie when it first came out, right then it became my all time favorite film. This is one of only a handful of science fiction movies that really holds up. To this day I have never seen a more perfect film in any genre. Maybe only the alien is more beautiful than the movie.

It took me way to long to upgrade this movie but it was well worth it. The steelbook packaging is amazing, Love the cover art on the front and back and looks great...Now this 4K thing on old movies like 1979 for instance is not 4K, looks like they just turned up the brightness but whatever

I've seen a lot of 4k movies. Some are good, some are great, and some stand out. This one stood out ... the quality, HDR, and sound are amazing. Also, it allows you to choose the old Dolby sound track from way back when for a truly authentic experience. This is at the top of my 4k movie list.

One of the best Sci-Fi horror films of all time. Nice 4K upgrade.

What’s there to say that hasn’t been said about Alien? It’s a horror movie in space with ample amounts of tension and dread throughout. I saw it in the theater when it first came out and the screaming in the theater was deafening. And that screaming is still well deserved today.

Alien is one of my all time favorite franchises, and to now have the one that started it all in 4k is a dream come true. The pictures are stunningly clear and sharp and brings a new level of enjoyment to watching. The steel case that it came in is also a bonus. Five stars and two Thumbs up!

This movie is a classic and is great even at DVD quality but it's really amazing how clear and detailed the picture on the 4K blu ray is. This movie looks like it was made fairly recently and the detail and shadows on this are better than I have ever seen this film look. Highly recommended.

So many great elements in this film. The cinematography, the atmosphere, the acting, etc. This is one of the greatest sci-fi films ever. Ridley Scott is a master at directing. From the design of the creature, to the rundown look of the space ships, this film never gets old.

Whether you have seen this movie or not you should definitely get this 4K transfer. It is only $15 and it looks so much better than a regular blu-ray. Blacks are black and the colors are great. It is hard to believe this movie is 40 years old because this 4K restoration looks so good.

The movie alone is good. The 4K in this is gorgeous. Expect grainy images when there is light, considering this is 40 year old film. Some effects and props show the small budget they had for this film. Sound is not great but not bad either. This is a must own for sci-fi enthusiasts.

You know what you're getting and IMO its worth it. Also, for the price I got it, double worth it.

Having seen Alien theatrically and purchased it in every video format over the years I can attest that the 4K disc is the best the movie has ever looked on home video. It’s a very dark movie and the HDR handles the dark areas of the screen beautifully. A must have disc for fans of Alien!
