I always wanted an alienware product, years ago they were too expensive. Well worth the wait. Now that they are more competitively priced, I made the jump. Great laptop. Only downside is it is heavy. But that's the price you pay for awesome performance and great graphics. Well worth the price.

It functions perfectly, gaming is great, and if you need to edit/ create videos this does it well! I also use it for school, but the problem is that it’s heavy. I think I remember somebody mentioning it’s a fingerprint magnet. That hardly describes it lol. It gets so greasy and has fingerprints all over; it’s horrible. If you can see it for the machine it really is, despite the weight/size/fingerprints, it’s a really good computer. If I could do it over again I might consider an msi with similar specs. It’s smaller and weighs less. **if you’re trying to game on the go you better bring your charger!!

Great build quality and power/performance. Only downside would probably be the weight. Sizewise, its about as slim as you can hope for in the price range. Great all around PC and also better than average support from Dell if you run into any issues.

The two things that impress me most about this laptop are the solid construction feel - no body flex at all, and how well behaved the temps are in tortuous benchmarks like furmark. The chassis lights are gaudy, but can be turned off. A side effect of the premium feel and cooling is that this laptop feels oversized, and the bezels are comically big. As far as “gamer” focused styling goes, I still find it to be among the better ones with the lighting disabled. If you want a sleeker looking laptop that can still 1080p with high settings, look at the MSI stealth thin or razer blade 15. They were my top choices over this but this was on clearance.

Noise is not too loud. Good graphics, ram. It has display port and HDMI...(great if you are into VR AND have a regular monitor). My only concern is seeming bios issues ... Mine will not go to sleep no matter the settings. Very long boot up time and the Tobii eye tracker seems to forget what it is every now and again. It forgot my HDD boot preferences. This processor has no custom overclock options, it seems. I will check my support options on the bios thing and may perform a reset while keeping my goodies. I replaced the HDD with SSD. It would be great if I were not nervous about the BIOS behavior. Nice gamer color schemes if desired...while not looking like a kid's laptop. Good construction.

This computer is a BEAST. Runs Doom at high settings on 4K with no sweat. Also handles my very intensive business tasks. Also has gobs of ports. HDMI, DisplayPort, Thunderbolt 3 - has it all. Battery power is lousy but that's life with most gaming laptops. I found the Tobii eye tracking annoying so I turned it off. My only wish is that the keyboard had a numeric pad

Before I buy this computer I did an in deep analysis of all the gamer laptops of 2017 and this was the best 15" inch laptop overall mainly because one of the main characteristics for this laptop is that it can be upgraded in the future with its external alienware graphics amplifier gpu port. This computer at dell with the same characteristics its more expensive that in here. Also I could use my credit card form another country so this was a great plus. The laptop is great in all the aspects. It feels of great quality in everything. The GTX 1070 is amazing I have been trying several games at ultra settings and all are very fluently. The only cons I got its the low SSD space. But even with the hard drive all is pretty fast. I always dream a laptop like this and now its in my hands!

Reaserched lap Top gaming . After careful consideration I decided to go with the Alienware, it had the Gracie’s and other details I was looking for. I have a desktop and I also decided I would like a lap top to game on and do school work with out have to be in one room.

Perfect for a poweruser, performs all tasks exceptionally well, and is much more portable than the 17. The matte screen is slightly low brightness but is pretty good to look and has barely any faults. The fans get a bit loud when under pressure but the speakers more than cover it up, and the vents are pretty effective. Keyboard feels really sturdy and can survive a beating. Not very comfortable to use it on your lap for extended times. Ive only played a few fps and racing games and the 1070 has been sailing smoothly even at high settings. AlienFx is bloody amazing. The lighting trackpad looks crazy. Similiar specs at a substantially lower cost are available from ASUS and MSI, but they compromise slightly in build quality and hugely in terms of premium looks.

I love this laptop. It can handle any game I throw at it and I like the customizable colors with alienfx. It is sturdy. It feels premium (it's heavy for a laptop). Great build quality and doesn't overheat.

So far so good. It’s fast, it’s not to bulky and it’s been very reliable so far. The only thing I’m not fond of is the duel hard drive. I will switch the big one out for a high capacity SSD at some point.

Works great, fast and quick to load. Only thing is this laptop is heavy for 15.3 inch. Works great but gets hot if not properly placed.

This is my first alienware computer. I've heard a lot of people say they are overpriced and not worth it. But to me, this computer has been worth it! I did get it at a discount, but Best Buy has them all of the time so you could snag one then as well! Plays games great, the Tobiieye tracking is really cool! It is a big laptop, so it is kind of difficult to fit in a normal backpack. I have been traveling the country with it though, and so it not too much to handle. Using the computer is seamless. I hardly, if ever, have the computer freeze up for a second. It runs so smooth! Love it!

Would be five stars if their was more memory in the main (C) drive. Only 150gigs and thats after the bloatware from Alienware, but just create a shortcut to the large D drive and "walah" you have a beast of a machine. Very nice layout and the mousepad is by far the most awesome ergonomic feel. Feels like its gummy, not like cheap plastic. I am satisfied. It does freeze sometimes, but very rarely, but I am pushing this baby pretty hard with programs, video editing, and photoshop heavy.

This is the second dell product I've owned, previously I owned the Dell Inspiron gaming laptop. The Alienware 15r3 has taken the fun of Inspiron gaming to another level. Solid build body, cool alienwareFX, awesome customer support and robust performance. I should've bought this instead the inspiron gaming. I've been getting solid performances with this model (i7-7700HQ, GTX1070) in any games I've played. Watch Dogs, Watch Dogs2, Forza 6. No overheating issues and games is smotth at 60fps in Ultra setting for all those games mentioned earlier.

Alienware fulfilled my needs very well and allowed me to get up and going again. It has a port to add a graphics card at full speed and Thunderbolt 3 which lends itself to benefit many projects. Excellent quality and very good engineering.

Great powerful laptop with many upgrade-able options outside of the processor. Ram takes up both slots so need to start from scratch there, but for the price one of the best I could find.

For the price, this is a fantastic laptop. Specs are great, battery life is great, runs smoothly and can handle all games.

I wanted to buy my son a computer for college. He's going to study Computer Science so I wanted something powerful. He wanted something to support gaming. This machine does both. The 1070 Graphics card is unbelievable. His Java code runs as fast as he can start it. The machine (as we knew) is heavier than many but the extra space allows for an improved cooling system which it needs as it is kicking it! Last night I noticed that Alienware is the machine Sheldon uses. Well, that's too cool.
