I was excited to own this loaded Alienware system. It was as advertised for about 1 week of use until... it died. Best Buy would not accept the return on day 15 after purchase. Called Alienware. Tech came out to the house twice and could not fix it. Sent the machine in for repairs but after two weeks they still can't fix it. Needless to say it has been an extreme disappointment both in the product and Best Buy for their poor return policy. As of today, my 6 week old machine has been out of service for 4 weeks with no resolution in sight.

    Bad replacement for iMac

Bought this laptop to replace an iMac. Doesn't work well with my iTunes acct. Bought the geek squad protection, thinking that would give me the same kind of tech support I have experienced at apple. They said if I want to pay 85 dollars they could fix my iTunes acct to work on the new laptop; what did I pay the money for the three year geek squad protection for? Then two days ago I went to connect the laptop to the internet and it won't connect. Cannot even use it... My 7'year old iMac, which is plugged into the same router still works and this doesn't. It is currently making itself into an unwanted paperweight. I should have stayed with apple products. I would not recommend this. I will buy an apple product in the future to replace this. Very disappointed.

    Got A Lemon

Bought this for my son as a late birthday - Army basic graduation - early Christmas present! He was excited to get it and try it out as he really wanted a gaming laptop to use. The 1st few hours he used it, he really liked it, but, after getting back on it a few hours later the screen flickered and flashed, then the computer just "died" on him. We started looking at reviews for the Alienware laptops and this seemed to be a common product issue surrounding build quality. Thankfully, Best Buy helped us with the return and we purchased a different product from them. I would not recommend this laptop unless you want sub par build quality. At this price, find something else after reading reviews 1st!

Died within 1 week. Kernel panics due to video card failure. Took 3 months to get a repaired unit from Alienware. Took multiple repair attempts and got a lot of run around. Buy an Asus or Msi instead

P0S### overheats and Dell is unwilling to take responsibility for the use of low-quality thermal paste which results in CPU throttling. Avoid like the plague!

    Never Gonna Give You Up...

I've had many gaming rigs over the years, mostly desktops but I just get a certain joy out of playing on this thing that I've never gotten playing on anything else. It's just so sick looking and powerful enough to play anything I throw at it and I'm sure it will last me a good while. I have upgraded it with another two M.2 SSD's giving me a 512GB dedicated M.2 for just my games and the other I have Linux on so I can dual boot and it runs like a dream. The only minor annoyance is some light bleed from the display which you really only see in dark scenes so rarely does it bother me but shouldn't have been a problem period at this price range. I'm giving it 5 stars anyway because it's such a sweet piece of machinery. I used to swear I would never buy Alienware because of the cost but I'm glad I took a chance!

best laptop I have ever owned

I have had quite a few gaming laptops. From Asus , MSI and Alienware. None have come close to this beast in quality or speed. The screen is beautiful to see and the gtx1070 is incredible. The computer boots very fast and once set up the eye tracking to sign in makes it like something off the mothership. The only down side if you want to call it that is it has a SATA m.2 drive instead of the nvme type. For $120 you can get a Samsung 960 Evo to fix that. Overall I am very happy with this purchase and highly recommend it.

I would normally never bust out more than $800 on a laptop, but I thought id give this a try... I can definitely feel and see where the extra money went and I don't regret it. I was skeptical at first with the display compared to the other shiny display computers out there. The display here is amazing when I hook it up to another monitor or TV I always come back to the laptop screen. Performance is incredible compared to what I'm used to... This beast boots up in less than a minute with the face recognition and feels super responsive. Games run smooth and look the best I've seen. I have really been missing out. New fan of Alienware!!!

This is my first Alienware laptop and I think I'm now hooked on the brand. Dell did a great job preserving the Alienware performance and the Alienware customer support is top notch! This rig can handle anything you throw at it, and then some. While it is a little heavy, it is nowhere near as heavy as other laptops I have owned. Kudos to Alienware for keeping it under 10 pounds while stuffing it full of the latest high end hardware. You won't regret buying this laptop. It feels and runs like a tank!

Overall a bad product and customer support experience with Dell! Still waiting for a respond from them how they are going to proceed in my case..., spent over 12 hours (call, chat, emails) with them and they didn't give me anything for it, no "sorry, we screwed up"..., nothing. 1) CPU is running extremely hot, even without any overclocking (99 C) 2) Display light bleed (even after technician changed displays in house) 3) Speakers are "crackling" 4) Touchpad cursor jumps to different positions I will update my review as soon as I have an update from Dell.
