    Although I am not a hardcore gamer, I can say that the Alienware 17 R2 delivers. It is the most impressive graphics computer I have owned (including desktops) and offers the addition of the amplifier if "high to ultra" settings are not enough for you. It is heavier than I expected but it wouldn't deter me from bringing it along on trips. The backlit keyboard is nice and the available settings for lighting are wide open. It hasn't run as hot as I had read in other reviews and the fans have not been loud at all for my applications. It delivered a day early and in great condition. Even the packaging is first class. I am happy with this laptop and the purchase in general.

    Great laptop, sad the speakers are just LOUD but offer poor audio quality. The laptop is pretty big, it wont fit some bags that should fit 17" laptops. Performs much better than i would expecting coming from a gaming desktop with 2 GTX 670s. I bought it to have a portable gaming machine without compromises, and whenever i feel performance could go on the down side i can just buy the Graphics Amplifier and put in a nicer GPU than a 980m that it came with.

    I love my new Alienware laptop. Battery life is average but to be expected with a large laptop. Graphics are very good, but some games may have to be forced to use the primary 3D Nvidia card as opposed to the Intel graphics card (which is the default card when on battery). I have had a couple of issues with the laptop after a BIOS update and the latest Windows 10 Threshold 2 update.
