Expensive? Yes. Worth it? Yes. Have had mine for quite some time now, so I can put a full review. The tower is hefty, large and heavy, so take that into account with your desk setup. Inside, you'll find the 7800x paired with an alienware liquid cooler, a gtx 1080ti, and everything is cleanly wired with a professional tuck job. Like seriously, its a very solid, very clean build. Dell/Alienware put a lot of work into these. The side panels are easy to remove, one side is storage access, the other all the other goods. TONS of room for any kind of expansion you could want. Fans can be noisy in performance mode, but stays cool and has good ventilation(There's a lot of open space inside due to the way everything is arranged, its neat). The RGB is nice, but needs more zones imo but you can always customize it later on. I'm using 3rd party mouse, keyboard, and headset but all devices can be synced up pretty well with the RGB for a good look. It even has a button with an LED light on the rear panels so you can see to access all your rear ports. The angled back also makes hooking and unhooking things easier in cramped spaces. Tons of USB, display port, HDMI. its got it all. It runs 4k max settings NO problem. The FPS it can sustain in 4k honestly surprised me by a good bit.. I use mine for streaming/content creation and it works amazing as a single pc setup. Great for editing or gaming. I have had no issues, and no complaints, other than having to walk away from it at times to go "adult". Its a beast. If you want a high end prebuilt, this is the way to go.. Its also backed by Dell and their top notch customer service. All in all, I was looking for a single pc streaming/video production/gaming rig, and it has more than met all of my needs. I'd say this is honestly one of, if not THE, best PCs you can buy in a store.

my mother bought this for my 16yr old son for his birthday - he loves it. Says it has taken his gaming to a new level. However, if he could change anything - it would be the size - at 60lbs and the shape make it nearly impossible for him to attend any of his friends LAN parties.

When I switched to an Alienware PC , after years with Apple MacBooks and iMacs , I realized that Windows is defiantly better. You can upgrade the graphics cards , ram , storage easily.

I've had this computer for around two weeks now and its given me nothing but problems.
The two stars is because I refuse to give something so expensive one star... but it deserves a one star.
First, Ill start off with the fact that the Hard-drive wasnt attached on the inside of the case and not connected. Tried to figure it out myself and ended up contacting support via-email where i spent 3 days playing email tag before i figured the problem out my self.
Secondly Idk if there is something wrong with the net-card in this thing or not but when I put my Ethernet into my old computer my connection is good but when I put it in the Area 51 it craps out. For example on my old rig I would pull 400DL but in the Area 51 with the same cord i only get 30DL.. Amazing.
Lastly I cant play a single game with this thing without losing frames on any setting. Now before you ask I did make sure the games didnt cap out at 60fps and I even made sure no programs ran in the background. A good example is my old computer can play a game like Fortnite on the lowest settings and consistently get over 200fps with multiple windows open on my other screens. The Area-51 at the same settings gets 60-120 FPS and drops below frequently.
My other comp was about $1000 dollars cheaper and is nearly 4 years old.
Dont waste your money on this thing. Please.

*Response Update* Our product specialists identified that the default Frame Rate Limit settings for Fortnite are 60 FPS. You are able to disable this FPS setting within the game and once this setting has been changed you should be able to run the game at roughly 180 - 200 FPS. We hope that this helps you enjoy your gaming experience more.
