This is nothing more than a Dell computer with lacking hardware and support from Dell. They have purchased and then ruined the Alienware name. As other reviewers have suggested please look for more accurate product reviews elsewhere on the Internet before purchasing this. Only lasted 6 months until audio failure, and the audio was a part of the motherboard requiring replacement with re-manufactured hardware. Once the hardware was replaced the machine wouldn't boot and Dell's response was "you just have to reinstall you operating system." So I would not recommend that you purchase this machine and I know I won't ever buy another.

for some reason the pc will only work with Dell's memory.
when I replaced the memory with PNY the pc would run a short time then shut down. For that reason I give the PC a -1.
Otherwise, I had to call Dell because the pc kept shutting down due to bad drivers. this pc has issues where it keeps shutting down.

I bought this production in open box condition; however, the production has a poor condition. It is not in a fair condition for the open box, and it apparently was used by someone. The back support was broken and missing piece. I'm not gonna buy the open box or buy stuffs from the bust buy anymore.

Best PC I purchased

This is by far the best pc I have purchased. Alienware got it perfect on this build. Seems like functionality and ease of upgrading was there focus. Novice pc owners came upgrade this pc. You need absolutely no tools to upgrade.
I first purchased the HP Envy gaming pc from Best Buy. It was a good unit but simple upgrade was unbelievable. It was a mid-tower and to remove the hd and/or add RAM i had to breakdown the entire system components including removing the front facia. I can't work with a system like that. HP over-stacked this pc. Geek squad were stumped on how to remove the hd's. It's just terrible. I returned it and then purchased an ibuypowerpc. Another mistake. Components were good but when something is too good to be true then it really isn't. Stay away from ibuypower, cyberpower and cybertron. I then saw this pc, read reviews online and saw videos on youtube and was just amazed by the design, quality and wire management in the system. See the youtube videos and you will know exactly what I mean.
The 1tb hd and 8gb of ram that comes with this pc is a joke. For the price point i would have expected more. Paying for name i guess but I am willing to do that because i am expecting quality from a name brand. I just upgraded to 32gb of RAM ($120), 500 GB SSD (had this in my old system) and added an HGST 4tb storage drive ($250). The pc is lighting fast.
I have a huge music and movie collection that is streaming via itunes throughout the house. I also use it for music editing, picture editing, home video editing and slight gaming.
I recommend this for any person who is looking to purchase a quality pc especially giving you the peace of mind to easily upgrade in the future.

I've already had a problem with my disc usage being at 100% almost constatantly. I called dell and apparently there is a problem with my hardware which they are sending a technician now to replace. Other then that it runs every single game on ultra buttery smooth. It's just a shame I've only had for a couple days & already I have a hardware issue.

I got this machine on sale. I plan to upgrade as needed later but it is a great platform to start with. The fan noise can get a little loud. Overall I believe a good deal.

Perfect for the Casual Gamer

I rarely write reviews, but I really found a lot of help with the reviews and wanted to contribute. I've been computer gaming since the days of RTS Warcraft and Command & Conquer, and am still a fan of SC2 and Civ5 (don't really like Civ6). I play an average of 1 - 2 hours a day, and maybe a few more on the weekend. I find that for a casual gamer that would like a system which can provide a overall good visual experience with minimal hassle this is a good system. There are some heavy customizing available on dell, but the only thing it really needs is a memory boost, and that'll only cost $70. I've played it on World of Warships, DOTA2, and Rainbow 6 Siege. All these games look great. My only other suggestion would be to have an upgraded 4k monitor, it will make a huge difference.
