The Alienware computer is powerful and quiet. Has one of the best graphics cards installed. Up and running right off the bat and very quiet compared to previous computer with multiple fans. Absolutely glad I made the purchase.

After weeks of researching, I decided to purchase the Alienware Aurora R7 with Intel Core i7, 16GB Memory, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080, 2TB Hard Drive + Intel Optane Memory. I hesitantly did not purchase the Geek Squad protection because of my budget and unfortunately after 1 month (almost to the day) after purchasing this computer it stopped booting. Fortunately for me, Dell's customer service is EXCELLENT and I was able to troubleshoot with them extensively. It was determined hard drive was bad, but to be sure there were no other issues beyond that I had to send in for repair and had my computer back within a week. Everything is working fine now but it was disheartening to spend so much money on a computer that died (or at least the hard drive) a month after purchase. (FYI had not started using computer for gaming or video editing. Had only installed Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop. Had never opened the CPU either.) Overall, I think this is a great computer and Dell's customer service is amazing, but I am really disappointed that it had such a major issue so quickly. Luckily I had not put any crucial content on the hard drive that would have been lost. Not trying to sway anyone away from Alienware, but just wanted to give account of my experience.

Purchase this when it was on sale. Great product very fast. Only issue is the power that comes with Unit you need to upgrade the power supply since the current unit comes with an underpowered power supply for graphics card

Awesome right out of the box. Just the O.S. installed. No other junk. First gaming computer my kids thought was fast enough. No complaints from them means it is good. Looking forward to trying V.R.

I am pleased with the performance and graphics from this system. Was open box item. No problems. Only way to buy since it had the deep discount and these are normally over priced in my opinion.

Purchased this desktop for my kid. Since I don’t game and only he does he seems quite pleased with his experience with this pc. Highest setting and he still gets 140+ fps and hast run into any lag issues. My only complaint is their is no information on what you can upgrade being additional ram and ssd. Oh and I would recommend replacing the keyboard and mouse although it worked just fine was pretty cheap feeling for such a expensive pc. Purchased a Alienware pro keyboard and pro mouse both considerably better then what came with the r7

Bought this computer on 08/08/18 for my boyfriend. I kid you not even 20 days later on 08/27/18 the system doesn't boot up. After 3 hours on the phone with dell's stupid tech support, we have to completely restore it to factory settings and start fresh. Okay no big deal not too much to have to deal with as it was still pretty new. Next day we get the blue screen of death again. I tried to restore it to a previous restore point. No dice! Hardware crashed. I called dell for them to tell me that we need to buy a new flash drive so they can continue to restore a different way. Uhhh No! I just paid $1500 for a computer that shouldn't hard a hard drive issue less than a month after purchase. I was so irritated with them I ended up calling geek squad who agreed with me and fixed the tower in store within a day. Thank god for Geek Squad. Been 1 day and fingers crossed it will be fixed for good. Overall its a quick computer and it has nice components hence the 2 stars. Perfect for gaming. Fingers crossed it doesn't crash again or else back to best buy it goes.

Jayvee,
We're sorry to hear about your experience with your new Dell computer. We'd recommend running the following diagnostic test if you continue to experience Blue Screen Errors:
1. At the desktop, click the Search the web and Windows box and type "problem reports".
2. Select View all problem reports to view a list of errors that have occurred on your computer and possible solutions for them, such as updating drivers, flashing your system BIOS, or checking for updates to the software.
3. Under the Source column, look for Windows and under Summary, look for Shut down unexpectedly.
4. Right-click the line item and select Check for a solution.
We'd also suggest checking to make sure that your software and drivers are up to date on Dell's Product Page - http://dell.to/2CnCit9.

This is a powerful machine that can pretty much handle everything that is thrown at it. I play mostly strategy games and single player games and they just look beautiful.

This computer makes very little noise and packs a punch when playing games that demand a good video card. Is it worth the price, I say no but I am happy with it.

So I was looking to get a new PC for gaming and streaming to twitch, I have built a few PC's in the past for friends and family but due to my job and family life I really didn't have the time to put on together. So I came across this alien ware online while comparing pre-builds, honestly the only thing I wish it had was a SSD drive in it but its worked out perfectly for my needs. I was instantly able to play games like Far Cry 5 on ultra with little to no issue! I would definitely recommend this computer to anyone who doesn't want to or know how to build their own rig.

The Alienware Aurora R7 is one of the best of its class gaming PC that has the Nvidia GeForce 1080 GTX graphics card. It runs Final Fantasy XV at around 50-60 FPS with no stuttering and is compatible with a G-sync monitor for a smooth gameplay experience. Monster Hunter World also plays seamlessly on this machine. Best Buy had one of the best deals, if you see it go on sale it was $300 cheaper than Dell or Frys. However, note that the sales ends on a Saturday by midnight Eastern time, so purchase it on sale if you can!

So far I have had a fairly good experience with both the PC as well as Dell whom I've used for support. I don't use this for gaming, but rather for intensely dense charting application which has very high GPU processing requirements. (the 1070 version didn't work for my needs). The hard disk is by far the weakest component. Upgrade and replace the useless optane memory with some a solid M.2 disk as your primary. (I put in a Samsung 970, which is stellar). The system goes from being average to outstanding in a heartbeat. Doing the upgrade yourself also saves a few hundred dollars buying the SSD version from Dell.) To simplify this .. I'll just get to the points I think are important. The Good: - Processing - Graphics Card (1080 is exactly what I needed) - Expansion Ports (Loads) - Dell Support (which you shouldn't need in the first week, but it was quite good). Fair - Peripherals (Mouse is ridiculously cheap). - Dell Software (Had great support but had the same issues as others with a thermal controller failure error). - Case, but thats super personal The Bad - Hard Disk (This thing is slow and ill-suited for this system). - Optane Memory (Not effective at all at least for me, I really don't think it works well at all) - Some of the USB ports seem to be quite finicky about supplying power or connecting to external peripherals . I have had to change ports to make peripherals work. I am guessing the board doesn't deliver enough power to all the ports all the time. (***I have a feeling that will be an issue in the short term). If you buy one, make sure the ports are working reliably all the time. Overall a good system. Fast enough, and does the job for me it was intended to. Be prepared to replace your primary disk quickly to get the performance this system is capable of. (Lots of videos on how to restore your existing system on boot disk from Dell to the SSD which greatly simplifies the process.). I would easily recommend the PC with the notes above.

I picked this system up to replace my very old HP, I had this machine for a good while before I started using it full time. It is fast at processing requests, it is overbuilt for what I do on computers but with the current trend of no disc drives for non gaming systems I had to make a choice but so far I am very satisfied with this system

There is no better computer desktop in my opinion. I love it. I am not a gamer, but I like the speed and the dependability of the Alienware Desktop. I had an Alienware prior to this purchase for 8 years, I loved it. But it was time for an upgrade, the old one was 80 lbs. couldn't move it around, the new one is much lighter and quieter. I hope it lasts me as long at the Aurora 4 that I had. Actually the Aurora 4 went to a friends son and it is perfect for him. He is thrilled.
