Glad with this purchase when I got it for cyber Monday and way worth it because this computer super smooth and fast after trying third parties pc. Worth getting and coughing up a little more for these kind of specs

So far so good! Well built specs. First thing I did when I turned it on was benchmark tested it. Everything runs so smooth compared to what I was running on before. Hands down no regrets.

This computer is a great gaming system, with great performance, a stellar design, and good value. The only drawback is it comes with a locked CPU, so no overclocking it, though the video card can be.

I purchased this computer in late October, started having problems with over heating and a very loud fan, about 2 weeks ago unit started shutting down, called Dell tech support after about 2 hours it was decided that the CPU and CPU fan was bad, Dell tech came out and replaced both, unit seems to be running very good now and is staying a lot cooler.

Bought this for my son and he loves it! He plays online LoL and has excellent glitch free games. Our internet is only 100mbs, and doesn't seem to bother it in the least. Thank you Alienware!!!

I have no regrets buying this gaming PC. It is my first gaming computer and it works perfectly. I also bought the better Alienware keyboard, mouse, and monitor. I'm very happy with Alienware so far.

The computer looks great, the specs are pretty fantastic, and all games I have been playing have run at really impressive levels maintaining really high FPS.
The biggest issues I have been running into seem to be related to a faulty motherboard. Every time I restart my computer, I get a "USB device not recognized" warning for devices that I have used without issue on other computers.
More recently, I will be in the middle of using my computer when all USB-connected devices randomly malfunction at the same time. I don't know what to attribute this to, as all drivers are up-to-date and I have used these devices on other computers without issue.
I wish I could give this computer higher than a 3* rating, but here we are.

I had to take this one back. I really like the way it looks. the only issue, which was a big one, once i started working the video card, the fans were so loud I could hear them over the game using head phones. other than that it was great!

MushIT,
We're glad that you're enjoying your computer's performance. We're sorry that the fan noise is louder than you expected it to be. Most people are able to cut back on fan noise when they update the BIOS on their computer:
An out-of-date BIOS can cause loud fan noises by having an outdated temperature table for the system. Refer to update BIOS and follow the instructions to update the BIOS on your computer. You can also follow up with our Technical Support Team here - 1-800-624-9896.

I play Ark: Survival Evolved on this and let me tell you, it's a huge difference in how it handles compared to my older computer. It does get quite a tad noisy during intense transitions on some maps but its only for a few seconds. Overall, it handles great. I bet it would handle even better with liquid cooling for the GPU.

Loud CPU fans and blower style CPU requires mods u

The system looks great, especially with the controllable slight touch of rgb lighting. However the CPU fan is extremely loud out of the box, to the point it's extremely bothersome, there is an fix for it though I replaced the CPU fan with an Corsair H60 all in one liquid cpu cooler, the radiator for the cooler fits perfectly in the top of the case. The GPU is also a blower model and when you have a 2080 super it can get a little loud, runs in the 80 degree range on most games, and can sometimes the fan sounds like it's struggling. But, it is not nearly as loud as that cpu fan. Honestly if you can get a deal on it and feel comfortable with doing a little surgey on your new computer it's a good buy, If you can't get a good deal on it it's prolly better to find another prebuilt with a bigger case that offers better airflow, or just build your own.

Exactly what you would expect for the price tag. Don’t have enough time on my hands to build a gaming rig. But this was much better that I could have done for the price regardless.

Only thing that can run my Vive Cosmos

I bought the Vive Cosmos Elite and a laptop with a GTX 1060 (the best in the store) to run it. After some back and forth with HTV Vive support they concluded that my hardware just was not strong enough to run it. I arranged to pick up the best laptop at any bestbuy in the city which had a RTX 2060. I still couldnt get more than 1 fps even as windows performance monitor showed my gpu utilization constantly at 100% and HTC Vive support determined that this laptop also was not powerful enough.
So I ended up returning both laptops and getting an Aurora R9 which effortlessly runs VR at max settings.
Hardware shame this Vive!

What can I say other than that it is an awesome desktop computer. The chassis is really nice and opens up easily for upgrades. Tons of fans, all.ports needed, and really solid.
What is not in the specs is that there is a fan in there that sometimes kicks off and it is loud. If you have it on your desk and on a call, then look into replacing the fan. Should not cost a lot, fans are cheap but still...
One thing that they could have done better is to Not ship it with a spinning hard drive. I'd rather have an ssd of 240gb than 1tb of spinning. Each time the hard drive goes out of resting, it freezes for a second.

I returned this not because it doesn’t run great, but it is extremely, jet engine starting up loud. Given the money you pay for this, you shouldn’t have to get in it and start tinkering with fans and Addis liquid cooling to quiet this beast.

Quality looks and feels good. The system comes with SupportAssist for maintenance and diagnosis purposes. I like this machine in everyway expect the air cool cpu instead of liquid. Sometimes it reached 100 deg C during the bench mark testing. Of cause liquid cooling will cost more!

I purchased the Aurora R9 i7-9700 RTX 2080 SUPER yesterday from Best Buy and I would have to say that the value of the PC is not up par with what it should, I began playing Grand Theft Auto V and several AAA games that the system should easily be able to play but the fans could not keep up and an airplane began to land! The quality of the product was good, good materials were used in the production of it. My biggest issue was the fans/cooling system. Returned the next day.

Hello JaymesFry,

Expected a lot more. Made from cheap parts the 2080 super was the cheapest looking blower model you will ever see performance was decent at best. They use the lowest possible build quality internally. They slap a nice eye catching case on it so it looks like it should be a great pc right? Dead wrong. I watched a YouTube video about the graphics cards they put in the alienware pcs and they are absolutely trash performance wise and they are cheap as can be. Don't even get me started on the fans. The airflow starved case sounded as if it was ready to take off and fly out the window at times even while idling not even playing a game or doing any task! Do your research and read reviews before you buy a gaming pc dont make the same mistake I did and buy this cheap hunk of junk. I personally decided to go with an msi pre-built instead of this and as soon as I opened the box and looked in the case you can see an immediate difference build quality is outstanding compared to this Alienware. Your paying for the brand with Alienware a very premium price for a very not premium product. All in all please stay away from Alienware go with an msi or honestly anything else but Alienware if your going to go for a pre-built gaming rig especially at this price range you should feel comfortable that your actually getting high quality parts in your pc. I hope this helps a few people make their decision before they waste their money on this.
