A Stunning Gaming Monitor
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Alienware AW2725D is a 27-inch gaming monitor that uses QD-OLED technology (an enhanced OLED screen with even better colors). It delivers stunning image quality and lightning-fast performance. It is an excellent choice for serious gamers who want premium visuals without paying 4K prices. The picture quality is beautiful, with OLED each pixel creates its own light providing near perfect blacks (unlike on regular monitors) and incredibly vibrant colors that fill the screen. The preferred resolution is 2560x1440 is perfect for gaming. The images are sharp and crisp but not so demanding that an expensive graphics card would be required. My gaming laptop with an NVIDIA graphics handled it just fine. This monitor is in a different league when it comes to gaming. The speedy refresh rate updates the screen 280 times per second, making motion silky smooth. At 0.03ms the response time practically instant. I notice no motion blur or ghosting, even during fast-action games. Whether I’m playing competitive first-person video games or racing cars, everything looks crystal clear. The design is sleek and sturdy with matte-black finish that looks sophisticated (looks a nice dark blue in the right light). The stand is compact, and sturdy and fully adjustable for height, tilt, and swivel. There are two HDMI 2.1 ports and a DisplayPort. Plus, it features a USB hub for accessories (the USB hub can't charge laptops or accept video in). I can choose between two modes for HDR content (movies and games). (1) "True Black" for the most accurate colors, or (2) "Peak 1000" for extra-bright highlights that really pop in dark scenes. The only real negative with this monitor is its text clarity. It has nothing to do with the quality of Alienware products (which are outstanding). Instead, it has to do with OLED technology and how the screen pixels are arranged. I find that tiny text can show faint color fringing (hazy rainbow effect). As such I would not recommend buying this for working with text and documents. It's designed for higher-end gaming and web browsing. As with all OLED screens, there's a risk of "burn-in" if static images stay static on screen for too many of hours (i.e.m desktop icons). However, Alienware includes a 3-year warranty that covers burn-in, which should ease your mind. The monitor also runs special anti-burn-in techniques while operating (pixel shifting), and automatic screen maintenance when powered off. If you take care of this monitor, there’s no reason to ever experience burn-in. But all OLED screens will slowing lose color density and vibrance over time. Not unique to this monitor, that’s the price you pay for an OLED screen. It's up to you to decide whether it's worth it. The screen coating is semi-gloss which helps to display extremely vivid colors. But a semi-gloss screen sometimes reflects light sources, just avoid placing it opposite windows or lamps. Conclusion: The Alienware QD-OLED AW2725D is great gaming monitor at an affordable price. Five years ago, a monitor like this would have cost two or three times this amount. I prioritize performance and stunning visuals for my gaming monitor, for business (working on documents, etc.) I use a separate screen. Aside from text clarity, this is one of the best monitors I’ve used for gaming. It's built well, the screen is stunning, and it performs like a champ in games. If as a gamer you value motion clarity and image quality (and are willing to pay for them), then put this on your desk and start playing! If you are looking for dual use (gaming and work), I would advise against it. That's the gotcha. Text looks poor, jagged, blurry and I’d worrying about the long-term effect static text has on the screen itself. I am very pleased with it and will recommend it to friends.

“Game Changer”
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been using a 4k gaming monitor since 2018 and thought I had a good screen until I plugged in the Alienware AW2725D. This monitor has changed my nightly gaming experience and it will hard to ever go back. Read on for my full thoughts. Unboxing: pretty straightforward essentially all I had to do is open the box remove protective cardboard, and Styrofoam screw the base on, and I was up. Set up was just as easy I plugged it in and I used a HDMI cord, one of which was included and plugged it into my PlayStation five. The monitor also came with a DVI cable included, and I will use that for my desktop computer. Out of this process, I was surprised to find that the HDMI cable and the DVI cable were included. This is not a normal thing. It seems like anymore, so not having to rummage through my thing or use my old issue my cable which needed to be replaced was quite convenient The screen quality: this Alienware is equipped with a 27 inch QD – OLED screen. This is a flagship high-quality screen, and as I stated it has changed my experience when it comes to gaming. The monitors are equipped with a high refresh rate 280 Hz colors are dictated by HDR, and the contrast is just superb. I typically play Call of Duty or battlefield lately. I’ve been playing battlefield and let me tell you everything is crisp clear and you’re definitely in the game. Of course I’ve adjusted my PlayStation for brightness and contrast, but I have to say this monitor really allows me to see what’s going on in the game. There’s no questions on if someone’s there in a dark scene. I have also noticed I do not get any type of motion sickness. I typically don’t, but if I played after a really long time or you know, I have a lot of eye strain you know I’ll start feeling not good but here the screen is just so clean and vibrant that it allows me to play for longer. Bonus: on the bottom edge of the monitor there is a USB a and USB-C type ports. This is the best feature I’ve ever seen on a monitor. They are actually powered. You don’t need any additional cables to power them. We can it’s powered right off its own power source, but I can charge my PlayStation headphones or controller. I already have a dock for my controller, so I’m actually typically charging my headset when I’m not playing it will continue to charge even when the monitor has went to standby mode or while gaming. I’ll actually connect it to my iPhone. My favorite thing about this monitor is the color of the physical monitor instead of being black, it is a very dark blue. It goes along with the Alienware theme and is a nice touch. It’s also not vibrantly blue so it won’t stick out in your room but when you said I’m close to it you’ll notice that it’s not exactly black. I really don’t have any negative comments about this monitor, and I really had to think hard to come up with one. The only thing that comes to mind is that there’s no internal speakers however this is quite normal for a monitor. Overall, I am highly impressed with this monitor. If you’re someone that gets motion sickness easily this is a no-brainer. You need to buy this monitor either for playing video games on your PlayStation or Xbox or on your PC. This is this is the way to go.

This Amazing PC/Mac Gaming Monitor Has Taken Over
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. In terms of gaming monitors, everyone is looking for a competitive advantage. They want the fastest refresh possible leading to the smoothest image. They want no input lag which gives them the drop on other players. And they want all of that will an incredible image. With the Alienware QD-OLED QHD 280HZ Gaming Monitor, Alienware has hit all fronts. Out of the box, the set up is easy. It has everything you need to get set up. You get the monitor, monitor stand, and cables to be ready to go. Attaching the base is easy. There is base you need to assemble, but no tools are necessary. It only takes a couple of minutes. The monitor then just slips into place. There is some setup required. You will likely need to go through setting up your PC/Mac to have the right setting on the computer. The monitor is a 1440p with 2560x1440 resolution. The monitor itself has a bit set up. In all though, one can be running within a handful of minutes. As far as the performance is concerned, this has replaced all my other monitors as my PC gaming monitor. Games like FortNite, Rocket League, and Battlefield look amazing. The fluidity prevents any stuttering of the image. I am running frame rates that exceed the game’s own capability. And over time, I could have long gaming sessions without straining my eyes. One point I will say though is this is not a monitor for everyone. This monitor is powerful. IF you get it to plug up a PS5 to, it will just be overkill on the monitor’s part. The PS5 doesn’t have a graphics card that can really get the most of the monitor. The monitor will work fine with it. But to really get the benefits of such a power monitor, you likely want something with a much stronger graphics card and capabilities. I don’t want to push people off of this monitor though. This is the real deal. The Alienware QD-OLED QHD 280HZ Gaming Monitor will be a beast in any gaming environment. Quick response, incredible graphics, smooth-like-butter visuals, perfect color representations, and low strain on the eyes make this a perfect gaming monitor. This has replaced my other gaming monitor and is now the workhorse of my gaming sessions. I recommend it to all gamers.

Love the vivid colors and smoothness
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.27” ish (I’m rounding up and it’s close enough for me) is about the smallest I want a monitor now, however, the dimensions are just about perfect for up close gaming with a keyboard, if I’m using a controller a bigger monitor can be nice as you can sit further away, but the 27” definitely geared towards getting up and close with a keyboard and monitor with the entire screen easily within in my vision but big enough to really enjoy the details. That is where a better resolution display really helps, I still think 1080p is good enough for gaming on small screens but it seems like windows 11 just doesn’t function as well on 1080p as well as windows 10 did and this resolution just seems to fit everything like a glove from the OS to the screen size of this monitor. The colors really seem to pop, and the image is crisp. The responsiveness in gaming is spectacular and overall, this is the perfect monitor or two of them really for a desktop setup. The adjustable height is perfect for me to not even need a monitor stand though it is at the very top of the available range. Though I do sit tall, if you have a shorter desk or a like to have your chair a little lower, I think the monitor adjustable height will be more than sufficient for you, I also love how it can be turned 90 degrees without an issue. For coding or CAD I love a vertical monitor sometimes and this enables me to easily adjust the monitor for how I want it depending on m use cad. The monitor has to HDMI ports, a display port and a USB hub built in, the USB hub adds one USB A and one USB C on the bottom of the monitor for the cost of a USB A port on the computer, which is convenient for USB drives or maybe a headphone wireless adapter. I think the lighted power button is killer, I am always trying to remember where the power button is and this is the first monitor that makes it extremely easy to find. Overall, this monitor fits the bill for what I want out of a monitor.

Alienware - AW2725D 27" QD-OLED QHD 280Hz 0.03-ms
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is coming from a first time owner of a new Alienware product... I have never hads anything Alienware and have always wanted to get one of they're gaming PC's but omg the price sticker can give you shell shock so to speak so when I saw this I jumped on it as fast as I could to get it . So far this monitor has out performed the other 27 inch that I have and is almost 10 years old which was also a brand that I have sttuck by for years. For being a flat screen monitor I'm surprised of how well the picture clarity is but being a QD-Oled it does make a differance it's like watching a OLED TV for picture and pairing it up which the newest CPU /Graphics cards that are out now makes it one of the best I have seen for gaming on a small monitoralong with the 0.03-ms refresh and the 280 Hz there's little to no tearing in the games I personally play. The big thing for me with this monitor is the fact of the refreshspeed and also being both Freesync/G-sync for those who use Radeeon or Nvidiaputting it togetherrr is about the same as many monitors out there easy to set up. The only con is the fact it's a flat screen so it mean's that I have to get used to a flat screen again lol I have gotten to used to a curved type with that being said yes I'm picky when it comes to that but that's meand yes it works with my set up and will being an asset to the games I play. It's a 100% get for either gaming or for a work station in my opinion

It's Alienware, so you can expect greatness!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the 1440p OLED monitor I've been waiting for! Inky blacks, pop-off-the-screen slightly over-saturated colors, and just an overall drop-dead-gorgeous image no matter what you're doing! I'm running this monitor on a RTX 4090 via display-port cable, but I did also try it via ultra-high-quality HDMI cable. I personally did not notice any difference in image quality, but then again my eyes aren't the best anymore. Because of the high refresh rate capabilities of this monitor (280hz), even at the highest frame rate I've yet to see any ghosting or motion blur in the latest AAA games, not to mention that it looks equally as awesome when being used for work, whether you're doing CAD design, video production, spreadsheets or just typing up some documents for a class that you're attending. Watching movies on this monitor is equally as enjoyable - because of the OLED panel the colors just POP off the screen. I additionally tried this monitor as a secondary on my Alienware M18 R2 with an RTX 4080 - zero issues there as well. Simply a fantastic monitor all the way around!

Perfect gaming graphics, but needs more taming.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is great gaming monitor. The QD-OLED screen is capable of deer stunning brightness and absolute pitch black. This is a high quality, high value *gaming* monitor with amazing performance in games. Input lag is nonexistent with the 280Hz refresh rate. Compared to even very fast IPS displays at the same refresh rate, this monitor is clearly faster. Battlefield 6 is beautiful and crisp with HDR enabled or not. There is so much brightness available you can nearly blind yourself in HDR or SDR. This monitor is amazing in bright light, with so much contrast it stands out and is easy to see and read. In the dark I found it nearly overpowering even at 15% brightness for use outside of games. The amount of blue in the output seems to give whites a blue-ish/light green-ish hint that I did not find pleasing. I experienced much faster eye fatigue when using the QD-OLED display than I do on my slower IPS panel. The faster refresh rate should make it even smoother and easier to look at, I thought, but that has not been the case for me. The stunning blacks make gaming and graphics extremely sharp and well defined, to a level that game devs should think about tuning games graphics more toward these insane contrast levels. I did find that watching even native resolution high quality streams that this Alienware monitor really highlights how bad streams actually look. The horrible compression artifacts in dark scenes and areas are done no favors by this monitor. This is the absolute best gaming monitor I’ve ever used, but for a daily driver, it is too much for me. I would conditionally recommend it for simply the best gaming graphics I’ve ever seen.

Great monitor for a good price
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The monitor was well packaged and arrived undamaged. It was easy to unpack and set up. It comes with an HDMI and Display Port cable, so no hunting for a cable to get working. The first notable feature is the screen brightness and color. The QD-OLED screen is great with vivid colors and very good contrast. The native resolution is one step above FHD, being 1440 instead of "just" 1080. Another noticeable item is the lack of lag. It makes using a mouse easy to place correctly. A welcome feature is the USB ports built into the monitor. It comes with a USB-A to USB-B cable to feed it from the computer, which allows connecting three USB-A and one USB-C device directly to the monitor. The height of the display is adjustable. While it is fairly energy efficient, it is not ENERGY STAR Certified. It does support the HDR color gamut. My only complaint (and very minor) is that it only supports Display Port 1.4 and not 2.1. For my use it's not critical, but might be for others. Overall a very nice display.

Oled on a budget

The BEST screen I have used!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Hello friends and welcome to my review of the new Alienware AW2725D 27 inch QD-OLED. That is a mouth-full so from now on I will call it just the monitor. First of all Alienware really needs to redo the packaging for this monitor. When it arrived I set it down on the floor and cut the tape on the box to open it, and it just fell open in both directions. The monitor flopped around as did the the stand, nothing was damaged. So I guess the packaging did it's job? Now, on to my review. After setting up the monitor and getting it synced with my other monitor. Right away I noticed the difference in the two displays. My other display is a 27 inch Samsung 4K and actually really nice. However, sitting next to the new alienware QD-OLED it starts to look old or almost a bit darker. If I am using both monitors for a static screen where both are white back grounds. I can see clearly that the white on the new alienware unit is brighter in all light conditions. Also strangely enough it does also appear to be smoother looking too. The display is so crisp that appears to me to basically look more realistic. This all new QD-OLED is also very clean looking when analyzing colors . I know that the folks over at Alienware are big gamers too so their attention to the color pallete shines in this new monitor. The next thing that really stood out to me is the speed of this screen. It becomes clear after just a few minutes of use that this monitor is on a new level. The smooth almost effortless ability of this screen to eat everything you throw at it is amazing. Clarity and detail rule the day on this monitor. I have been watching 4K content and the detail I can see is amazing. Real content that shows things such as grass, the grass looks so real that it seems as if you can feel it thru the screen. I am very impressed with the lack of any latency what so ever. I personally think that this monitor is actually better than the video and games we play on it. This is a impressive unit I must say, and I would recommend it to anybody looking to get one of the best monitors money can buy!

I’m never going to be able to go back
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought my first OLED TV (a 77” Samsung, one of the higher end models) a year and a half ago. I have always been a Sony guy, but I found their OLED TVs to be too expensive for my taste, so I acquiesced and got the Samsung. Needless to say, I wish it was a Sony, but the picture is so good that even my high end LED Sony TVs annoy me now because I get bothered by the lack of true blacks and nitpick about my perceived flaws (real or not). I spend most of my time gaming on an 85” Sony, but it’s only a mid grade TV and it has been okay for me. I only game at my computer sporadically (I have a Ryzen 9 with a 5070) because my monitor is a 32” curved no name brand that I bought during pandemic. Enter Alienware OLED. I was concerned that it would be too small but at my desk’s viewing distance, 27” is perfect. The size didn’t even matter once I booted it up. It’s kind of like how the first time I saw HD TV in around 2005 and that whole era through 2007 where the channels started popping up in HD and everything looked like it had another dimension to it. I’d say that the leap is bigger moving to an OLED computer desk monitor than it was moving to OLED main TV. It feels like everything I’m looking at has a new depth to it. The colors are deeper, the motion feels clearer.. everything looks awesome and it’s not just resolution. OLED in your face produces something special. I’ll never go back to LCD, to the chagrin of my wallet. Highly recommended.
