I've always known Alienware to be the best of the best when it comes to gaming PCs, the M17 R5 proves that to be true. Between the elegant build design and high end hardware, this truly is a beast of a laptop. The screen is large and although only being 1080p, it still looks amazing. Any game I threw at it ran perfectly with absolutely no issues on max settings. I was consistently getting between 240-300fps in Apex Legends and every moment felt buttery smooth. I will say this definitely isn't a laptop for travel, as it's large in size and pretty heavy in weight between both the large brick charger and the laptop itself. During gameplay, the M17 fans barely were noticably loud, even when I was running on the overclock setting. Now for the speakers. I'm not sure if maybe I have a defective unit, but when ever I play anything with bass the speaker does a popping/crackling/static type noise (at all volume levels). It's not a huge deal since I'm usually using a headset but I still would expect better given the price of this laptop. Hopefully a simple audio drive update can resolve this issue. Overall, I'm very happy with how amazing this laptop runs and recommend it to any PC gamer.

Blazingly fast gaming PC w all bells & whistles!

Blazingly fast gaming PC with all bells and whistles! That's my headline and I'm sticking to it. This is a fantastic, but absolutely huge but beautiful, beast of a machine that will run anything you throw at it. Save for a couple of minor miscues this one checks about all of the boxes that gamers will want and then some.
First is the unpackaging. It's good to see companies are learning to make their high end products feel high end by providing for a very simple and elegant unboxing. This PC only comes with a few small cards and an AC Adapter in the large box and that is all. That's all you need though. Plug it in, open it up, remove the keyboard guard and fire it up. You are into Windows 11 very, very fast! If you're coming from an older computer be prepared to be amazed. And even if you're not, you may still be.
Once in you can see Alienware did not load this PC up with any bloatware. Not even a trial of McAfee which was the only thing I got on my recently received Dell business PC. You do only have 1 TB of SSD space so don't go crazy installing everything. This brings me to my next item, yes you can add another SSD to it. It took me a bit of looking around on Youtube to see the inner workings of this PC but yes it does have another slot for a 2280 sized SSD so that will be the first thing us gamers are going to want to upgrade (add in addition to the main drive).
My first true test of this was Microsoft Flight Simulator 2022 running the Top Gun mission #2. I maxed out everything in graphical settings, putting it all to Ultra. Sure that's a lot but remember we are running at 1920 x 1080 so should be no issue for this PC. And it wasn't an issue. The game looked stunning and ran flawless, it almost looked real to be quite honest. Next up was Red Dead Redemption 2, which is in my opinion the best looking PC game ever made. How would this PC fare in the wild, wild west? Well amazingly as it turns out. The game looked as real as I have ever seen. Uncapped frame rates around 100 FPS and at times much higher. These two games are the most demanding I ran on maxed out settings but I did play a lot more and everything ran great. Only had one crash to my desktop and that was in Red Dead 2 but I was doing several other things including Windows updates so I don't believe it was a "real" crash per se.
This is not going to be the most portable laptop, I think anyone that gets this PC knows that coming in but it is worth mentioning that this is a big, big and heavy laptop to tote around. Unless you're a young person who really is strong and doesn't mind the heft you should be buying this with the intention to mostly use it wherever you park it and not be bouncing around in it like it's a on the go device.
Now let's get to a couple of cons of the machine. First up is the UEFI. UEFI for those of you who may not know is basically what us old timers call CMOS. It's where you go to add or change things, really tweak things, and of course if desired overclock. I have seen a lot of UEFIs/CMOS' in my day and they used to be very ugly and DOS based. Now however most of them are very much like a GUI and you can even use a mouse. Not Alienware. Despite this PC being about as high tech as it gets the UEFI is something from a 1993 HP Laptop more than a modern gaming device. It's just abysmal, it's ugly, it's not got many options and I just sort of get the feeling Alienware really never intended for us customers to be poking around in there. This may not matter one bit to many of you but I know it will to some.
The last complaint is the thermals. No this PC doesn't run hot, even while running Flight Simulator or Red Dead. But one would not know that unless you knew how to find that out. Why? Because the Alien Command Center doesn't function correctly. I have this on my home PC for my monitor and it doesn't work there either. Here it mostly works, you can go in and change your RGB lighting on the machine (which btw is extremely cool if you're into RGB, it's really pretty amazing how much it makes the machine look so good) and that all works. Click on THERMALS or OVERCLOCK tabs though and be ready to look at the hourglass. Now I thought I was just being impatient last night so today I went to THERMALS tab and saw that hourglass, got me a cup of coffee and let it go. And hour later it was pretty apparent that I would never get to see any thermals. Ditto for the OVERCLOCK tab, if you want to overclock you are going to have to find another way (hint one is that ugly UEFI, it's buried but in there).
Alienware apparently has the hardware down pretty well, may want to farm out the software though if Alienware Command Center is any indicator. But that's it for the negatives, a crappy UEFI and a non-responsive Alienware Command Center. The first is just aesthetics mostly (one could argue they could have added a lot of things beyond just improving aesthetics though) but the second is important. You have to have a way to know how hot a gaming PC is getting, ESPECIALLY a very expensive and nice one like this. Alienware should know this! So I downloaded HWInfo, a free program, set up two sensors, one for the CPU and one for the GPU and now they are on my system tray. As it turns out the machine idles about 35 Celsius for both CPU and GPU. I have not seen any temperature exceed 75 celsius yet on anything I've run, which is ideal, especially for a laptop of this size and peripherals that it powers.
To say that I'm "over the moon" for this Dark Side of the Moon laptop is an understatement. This is enough computer and graphical power here to run just about anything and serve as a valid desktop replacement. With the stunning aesthetics, the blazing speed, the low temps and just all around incredibleness of this PC Alienware has a real winner on it's hand. I can recommend this to anyone without hesitation. Congratulations to Alienware, this one is going to be very difficult to beat! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

The Alienware m17 R5 gaming laptop/desktop replacement comes packed with high end hardware in a beefy case that makes its presence known in many ways. Unpacking this unit is barely a task. I found it to be to the point with zero fluff. The same can mostly be said of the initial operating experience as well.
Every new computer needs an abundance of updates out of the box. And this laptop was no exception. Thankfully there is no issue with unwanted bloatware populating your screen relentlessly. However, after updating everything Windows/Nvidia/Alienware Update related, there was an issue where the display mode management would not work properly forcing me to always use the discrete 3070ti rather than allowing the system to swap between that and the Ryzen 9 6900HX APU on board. I’m sure this can be resolved and if you too are looking for a quick fix for a NVidia container error saying it is unable to change the display mode, I suggest looking up that and “NVIDIA Advanced Optimus Overview” on how to work around the issue in the short term. Not addressing this will result in some significant battery life problems if you plan to use this as a portable device of any kind.
Testing of this unit was a blast. Playing Shredder’s Revenge at 320+ FPS is every bit of fun my younger self couldn’t imagine. Cruising through Stray on max settings is fantastic. Although I did experience some performance bumps there. When crossing into new areas that need to load, I would see some noticeable FPS dips. Otherwise, it was a steady 120+ FPS with peaks around 225.
Although my game testing revolves around those that prefer game pads, I must give props to this keyboard. Especially the easy access volume keys. The keys are very well lit and easy to read. They feel great, the travel distance feels good, and every press is quiet but definitive.
3D Mark results were respectable. And those tests certainly wake up this beast. Once it starts really going to work and putting out heat, the fans kick in and go to work! This machine puts on a show in performance and air movement when it gets motivated. And it looks incredible while doing so. (These numbers should reflect that these were completed with no customization or tuning.)
Something that is really appreciated is the upgradability. This is a pricey unit and being able to add a little life or a bit more performance with an added SSD and/or RAM is great. Especially when it is relatively easy to access for someone with a little experience.
I do wish there was a better refresh rate management to maybe address the fan issues. The only refresh rate available in the advance windows settings is 360 Hz and 60 Hz. A sweet spot in between would be appreciated.
I strongly recommend this for anyone who needs a powerhouse laptop for gaming or for work…or both! But I’d also recommend some headphones with active noise canceling if you plan to use it for extended periods of time under a heavy load in the highest power plan setting. Any long gaming session will get those fans moving and let you know they are.

Alienware continues to bring incremental upgrades to their gaming laptops. While a lot of the design and materials have generally remained the same, I've noticed quite a bit of improvements over the last generation models. For starters, the keyboard feels the most premium it's felt in a while. All the keys feel very pronounced and stable with virtually zero side to side wobble. The actuation of the keys is silky smooth. The keyboard is so good this time around that every time I start to use this laptop, I almost get a desire of wanting to write a paper. This keyboard is seriously that good. The keys are also individually lit and customizable via Alienware's Command Center software. The RGB customizations are endless. I also love the functional keyboard shortcuts that Alienware continues to include. For example, pressing "F1" immediately enables "High Performance" mode which will give you an instant boost clock to your CPU and GPU. I found myself using the audio shortcuts keys quite a lot when watching content. I like that I don't have to hold down the function key plus another key to quickly control the volume. Small details like this make all the difference.
The build quality of this laptop feels very premium. To the touch, the construction feels like it's a mix of high quality aluminum and plastic. I love the matted inner body of the laptop. It adds a certain level of comfort as my palms rest on the laptop when typing or gaming. I can also tell that the quality of the trackpad has significantly improved over the years. This has always been a bit of a sticking point for me. In the past, Alienware trackpads have sometimes been somewhat underwhelming. Particularly, the left-click corner has always de-pressed too far down into the laptop. Not this time though. The trackpad feels very pronounced and responsive. The only minor contention I still have with the build quality of the M series laptops is the hinge that connects the display with the body of the laptop. There is still an ever so subtle creak/squeak once in a while when you open or close the laptop. It's a small quirk but nonetheless an area I'd like to see an improvement in.
In terms of performance, this laptop is an absolute monster. The AMD Ryzen 6900HX and the 3070Ti destroyed everything I threw at it. I ran several benchmarks to test it's performance. I've listed the performance results below:
-3D Mark Time Spy (1920x1080):
10,534 (68% better than other results posted online with 3070Ti Notebook GPUs + AMD Ryzen 6900HX)
-Red Dead Redemption 2 (1920x1080) - On Highest Quality Preset Available (Practically all settings on Ultra):
Min FPS: 30
Avg FPS: 80
Max FPS: 133
-Shadow of The Tomb Raider (1920x1080) - On Highest Preset Available + RTX Off:
Avg FPS: 139
-Forza Horizon 5 (1920x1080) - On Highest Preset Available "Extreme" + RTX ON:
Avg FPS: 89
-CS:GO (1920x1080) - All settings on Highest Available:
Avg FPS: 370 ------------> What this 360hz display was meant for!!
The 3070Ti plus the 360Hz refresh rate display of this laptop are the stars of the show. As you can see above, most of the modern triple A title games are extremely demanding. At the highest graphical settings you're not really coming close to 360 FPS. I think this is where the beauty of this laptop's versatility comes in. If you're in the mood to play certain games at the highest visual fidelity, turn up all the settings and the 3070Ti + the Ryzen 6900HX has you covered. If you're in the mood to play one of your favorite fast twitch shooters and want the most competitive edge possible, turn down a few graphical settings to get the best frame rate possible, and the 360Hz display has you covered. Because CS:GO is an older title, I was able to run it fully maxed out averaging about 370 FPS. However, for newer titles you're likely going to have to turn down some graphical settings to get that really high frame rate; and in some cases, it's definitely worth it. Gaming at this frame rate is like nothing I've experienced before. While I typically prefer a higher pixel density display (e.g. 1440p, 4K), on a 17 inch monitor I have no problem playing at 1080p if I get to have a 360Hz refresh rate!! There are certain games like CS:GO or Overwatch where I simply want the best competitive edge I can get. Gaming at 1080p and 360Hz on CS:GO is the most fluid gaming experience I've ever had. I can't wait to try more first person shooters at this frame rate. Also, another thing to keep in mind in terms of versatility, is this laptop has mini-DP and HDMI out in case you want to hook it up to a 1440p or 4k external display. The only minor con that I have to mention regarding the display (at least on my unit) is that there's a tiny bit of backlight bleed on both the lower left hand corner as well as the right hand corner when the brightness is turned up all the way. However, because it was only barely visible in certain black scene transitions, it never detracted from my gaming experience.
Another impressive bout of performance on this laptop was it's storage. Alienware gives us a 1TB NVmE SK Hynix SSD with speeds that are just ridiculous! Benchmarking on CrystalDiskMark, this Hynix was able to achieve a read speed of 7043 MB/s and a write speed of 6450 MB/s! This is easily the fastest drive I have ever benchmarked. This resulted in incredibly fast load times during all of my games. Thermal performance has also improved as compared to previous Alienware gaming laptop models. During all of my testing, the 3070Ti never exceeded 66 degrees C (ambient room temp of 75 F) at full load and the CPU never exceeded 83 degrees C (ambient room temp of 75 F). While the CPU does get a bit toasty, this is actually not too bad considering we're talking limited airflow within laptop enclosures. I also noticed that the upper exhaust vents and sides of the laptop didn't get as warm as they have in prior models. I'm not sure if this has something to do with the fact that this is a larger laptop (i.e. 17 inches) so there's more surface area to work with, or if Alienware is doing something to improve their cooling efficiency. Either way, I was happy to see the improvement in thermal readings.
All in all, this Alienware M17 R5 with it's 360Hz display has become one of my favorite Alienware laptops offerings in a while. Alienware continues to make gradual improvements to things like RGB lighting customizations, thermal cooling, display technology, and also continues to improve the quality of their components. For those wanting a high-end and portable gaming machine with an impressive high refresh rate display, I couldn't recommend this one enough!

Absolute Tank

The past couple years I have explored other gaming laptops from Asus and MSI, but after coming back to this laptop from Alienware it has definitely made me question why I even ventured out to other brands. This laptop is an absolute tank in every dimension and thus dwarfs the competition.
Firstly, the unboxing was effortless as there was not a lot of fluff as it was very premium and included the basic necessities of the laptop, charging cable (which is the largest computer power brick I`ve ever seen), and your basic warranty/startup instructions. I will note that this thing is absolutely massive and with the size of the power brick I would not plan on this being too portable as it seems geared more towards a traditional stationary gaming setup. The build quality of this laptop is absolutely of utmost quality. There is no cheap flimsy plastic as it is almost a metal/plastic combination that is used and the matte finish produces a very mature and professional theme. The full backlit keyboard is great and the keys allow that perfect distance of travel with the layout of the keys being extremely well though out as I found myself using the keyboard shortcuts much more than I had with my past gaming laptops. The large trackpad is also a big upgrade over many of those used with 15 inch laptops and it has been extremely responsive when not using an external mouse. My favorite non-performance aspect of this laptop is the ports being on the back of the laptop as it allows for a much cleaner setup to which the ports provided leave nothing to be desired. The overall build quality thus shines to which the only small blemish I can note is the lack of a number pad as I feel with as large as the laptop is this could have been included.
After being impressed right of the box with the aesthetics the laptop only impresses more with its performance. The startup was extremally simple and straightforward as it utilizes Windows 11. A major positive was the lack of bloatware as there really was nothing that needed to be uninstalled following the setup. After finishing setup I went right into getting some games downloaded from FPS (Warzone and Apex) to open world games (Red Dead 2 and GTA). After hours of playing I can definitely say that there is not anything you can throw at this laptop from a gaming perspective that it can not handle! When it comes to shooters I was hitting 200 frames consistently and then with those open world games to hit 100 frames at high settings without any overheating issues was absolutely phenomenal! I know there are some that prefer to game at 4k, but if refresh rate is what you are after then this laptop is a must buy as there is nothing that it can`t take. The colors and vividness of the games was also outstanding and I really did not see much need for a 4k display as if you really want to do that you can always game on a traditional tv. Then in regard to the speakers they were definitely solid though with the size of the laptop I think I may have expected slightly more though it is not a major weakness. Additionally, when it comes to usability, the only negative aspect that comes to mind after using this laptop is the 720p webcam as I was somewhat surprised that it did not have the standard 1080p webcam though when it comes to gaming this is obviously a non-factor.
Overall, I will remain with my initial title in that this is an absolute tank of a laptop in all facets. The build quality is of the utmost quality as you will not have to worry about anything breaking from that standpoint. Then the performance is outstanding as it will power through absolutely anything you want to throw at it! I know this laptop may be in that upper price range, but you are truly paying for that difference as I would find it extremely difficult to find anything that would outmatch this machine.

PC gaming at its best. Alienware (Dell) added almost all the very latest solid state hardware for this laptop. Loving the AMD Ryzen's speed at which everything is near instant using this laptop. Editing software and the day to day stuff is just effortless to run. Tested GeForce RTX settings on several recent games (racing and riding) and some older stuff with everything turned on and at max settings. Laptop amped up the fans and didn't hesitate to render higher frame rates and with the exhaust exiting the rear of the M17 R5. Never once felt the heat in my hands or wrists. Even the speakers seem to be pretty decent for a laptop.
Though everything is really great with this Alienware M17 R5. Going to miss not having a number pad if I get back into Flight Simulator or doing my taxes on this PC. Not sure why the number pad is excluded given the size of this laptop? Also wish they could have added a second USB-C or thunderbolt port. The USB-C it does have, powers a second monitor just fine. Just didn't want to have a hub for my current setup. Also missing is an SD slot card reader. And, be prepared for the heft of how heavy this laptop is. It might not be wise to daily carry this model.
Last thing, on the very positive side. It does seem Dell left some room for future upgrades and did not solder everything down. There is room for a second M.2 SSD and the RAM looks to be upgradable to 64GB (currently 2x8GB RAM). Kudos to Dell!

The Alienware 17.3-inch gaming laptop is an absolute powerhouse, delivering blazing-fast performance that will leave gamers in awe. While it may be a bit heavy, its exceptional speed and sturdy build make it a top choice for those seeking an uncompromising gaming experience.
Let's start with the laptop's lightning-fast performance. Equipped with top-tier hardware, this gaming beast effortlessly handles even the most demanding games with ease. The powerful processor and dedicated graphics card ensure smooth gameplay and stunning visuals, immersing you in the virtual worlds like never before. The laptop's sheer speed and responsiveness truly elevate the gaming experience to new heights.
Now, it's worth noting that the Alienware 17.3-inch gaming laptop does have a bit of heft. While it may not be the lightest option out there, the weight is a trade-off for the exceptional performance it offers. It's important to consider your portability needs and usage scenarios when deciding on a gaming laptop.
On the bright side, the laptop's solid build quality is evident. Alienware is renowned for its attention to detail and robust construction, ensuring durability and longevity. This sturdiness provides peace of mind, knowing that your investment is built to withstand the rigors of intense gaming sessions.
Despite its weight, the Alienware 17.3-inch gaming laptop still manages to offer some degree of portability. The laptop's compact design and thoughtful placement of ports make it convenient for carrying to LAN parties or gaming gatherings. However, it's primarily suited for those who prioritize power and performance over extreme portability.
In conclusion, the Alienware 17.3-inch gaming laptop is a force to be reckoned with. Its remarkable speed, stunning graphics, and sturdy build make it an exceptional choice for serious gamers. While it may be a bit heavy, the unparalleled performance it delivers more than compensates for its weight. If you value raw power and reliability in your gaming machine, the Alienware 17.3-inch gaming laptop is definitely worth considering.

This new Ryzen 17.3-inch gaming laptop comes with a power cable and a large black metal casing with 240 watts power break, all with minimal waste boxing/wraps. The top looks like a gunmetal or carbon graphite color texture, the embossed 17 and the LED Alienware head. The casing looks solid, even when opening and closing the laptop. The back vents are shaped into a nice-looking Tron-ring honeycomb. Also, another Tron-ring honeycomb vent for air intake cooling is located on the top of the keyboard. Ports available: 3x USB-A and 1x USB-C (thunderbolt 3) ports, an aux jack, an ethernet port, an HDMI, and a power port. The armrest is large enough. The keyboard is an RGB Alienware type, with a backlit keyboard. The touchpad is a decent size and very responsive. The LED Alein head power button lights up either amber or blue to indicate the battery status: amber (running on battery), blue (fully charged battery), and it flashes amber/blue when charging. The screen is nice, vibrant, and very responsive. The usual webcam and microphone are on top of the screen; it is small and doesn’t take a lot of space. The fast processor, the TGP, and the advanced Optimus run all of my games incredibly smoothly. Games such as with the highest graphics ran with roughly 140 fps. A shortcut for games on this laptop is the F1 button; this enables the performance mode to open the command center. Overall, I am satisfied with this gaming laptop.

The Alienware m17 R5 gaming powerhouse, equipped with an AMD Ryzen 9 6900HX and a Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070 Ti. I specifically use this laptop for gaming and I must say although the display is only 1080p (with a refresh rate of 360Hz); it's absolutely gorgeous and plentiful for what I need to use it for. Along with what I mentioned you are also presented with 16GB of 4800 Mhz DDR5 memory and 1TB M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD; again perfect for my usage.
As soon as you unbox this thing of beauty you are greeted with the color that Alienware calls “Dark Side of the Moon”. I love the matte black finish and it really makes the RGB on this laptop stand out. The keyboard has a "grip" material type of finish to it and it's actually quite nice. One thing I have to mention is that the laptop is quite heavy (which is understandable) due to what it contains along with what it was made to do. This laptop may not be for individuals going to coffee shops or if you are a student that needs to carry it around campus class to class. This laptop is more for the individual that is going to be setting up their gaming station at one location and gaming for some time.
Performance is probably the biggest question after unboxing and setting up the laptop. Personally I am completely and wholeheartedly blown away with the performance output of the Alienware m17 R5. If you are gaming at 1080p you will have 0 problems with the Alienware m17 R5. Let me put it this way; you can throw any AAA game at high settings and it’ll cut through like a hot knife on butter. Speaking of temperature; the Alienware m17 R5 did not disappoint with cooling and keeping the temperatures under control thanks to the Alienware Cryo-Tech Cooling Technology. I was able to run AAA games at a nice average of 60 - 70 Celsius for the AMD Ryzen 9 6900HX and the 3070Ti temps were just amazingly low for a laptop. While gaming on the Alienware m17 R5 not only will you be comfortable with the temperatures for long periods of time (both CPU and GPU); you can also confidently throw any game at it with outstanding frames per second. Just to name some of the games I tested were Far Cry 5, Counter-Strike Global Offensive, Halo Infinity, DOTA 2, APEX Legends, As Dusk Falls, The Evil Within 2, Hitman 3, Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands, Wolfenstein Young Blood, Battlefield 2042, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege and Resident Evil Village. If you want some extra frames you can also enable one of the two preset overclocked profiles through ACC (Alienware Command Center); or if you’re experienced you can overclock the GPU yourself.
As I mentioned previously; the Alienware m17 R5 was designed to be set up as a gaming station as opposed to carrying it around “on the go”. Why I am mentioning this is because of the battery life. If you have it running on battery and have the settings of the laptop set to high; you may be a bit disappointed. But having said that, if you are able to tweak the settings (such as turning down the brightness); running this on battery is actually quite good. As you know tweaking the settings and running the laptop on battery will also hinder performance (quite significantly). So it ultimately depends on your daily usage.
When it comes down to it; the Alienware m17 R5 is a fantastic 1080p gaming powerhouse backed by amazing cooling. I highly recommend the Alienware m17 R5 if you’re a gamer looking to play AAA games at a 1080p resolution. For an individual like myself where I tend to game for long periods of time at one specific location but want to enjoy the flexibility to be able to pack up and go to lets say a friend's house for a lan party; the Alienware m17 R5 has me covered. Now I can game comfortably and confidently for long periods of time thanks to the m17 R5 by Alienware.

I got this laptop for around 1650$ open box. And it will out perform some desktops with a 3070. If you can get it on sale or dont mind the extra money for alienware name then it's worth it. A bit thick and heavy and not very good battery life but its a gaming laptop and does what its suppose to. Looks really nice and has a great keyboard

So far so good? I love this laptop, don't get me wrong, the laptop is as powerful as they say. Even too powerful for the computer's own sake. I purchased the system open-box with Win11 pre-installed, but decided to install Win10 instead along with a Samsung 980 Pro 1TB SSD to add to the included 1TB SSD. I couldn't download Command Center but everything else was working beautifully, especially gameplay. I mainly focus on FPS games and enjoy maxing-out the settings for the art detail. Night-time use is like a silent poot: it stays quiet and cool; the solid alien-green color stays brighter than the display. Command center is only available on Win11.. I upgrade to Win11 and get command center up and running. Day 5 of owning the laptop, Black Ops: Cold War won't startup properly and shaders need to be reinstalled when the program is opened. MW2 (2022) has the same issue now which makes me take the laptop to Geek Squad for a diag, I find out half of the files for both CoD games are missing. I figured it was only those two that had problems since L4D worked at a solid 30 fps instead of 14 from before. Got the drivers reinstalled and was back and running in no time. Day 9 of owning the laptop: I have all of the lights to my liking with all of the settings fixed and games installed, everything as feeling good.. until I noticed Command Center install itself for a flash of a frame. I close my game and check the program and everything looks fine. Nothing sounds weird, everything feels and runs smooth. Ok, this is normal? My inner thoughts are trying to decide if I have a virus as I run a system analyzer through Webroot. Everything checks off and nothing unusual was found. I run a quick scan and optimize soon after and everything checks off again. I checked for any system updates and installed anything missing, then try the same thing in Support Assist only to find it keeps freezing at 0% when scanning for driver updates. After 2 minutes, I know it won't try to continue after so I run anothing system check, but still stuck at 0% for a couple minutes after. I tried scanning for any files to delete and it freezes at 0% as well. I went back to Geek Squad now on day 12 and they find out the newly installed Command Center is the same program with the same certificates, the program had attempted a repair and ended up corrupting itself and not allowing me to uninstall one of the two installed versions and decided to fully wipe and reinstall the OS to see if this works. I did decide to purchase Total Tech which I find to be a great choice in which I can get support for my laptop at any time along with any other devices I have. I would give the system a full 5 stars, but personally, this model is an overwhelming size but definitely a solid top 2 option for power users. Hopefully I will update this review after some extra time of using and maybe keeping it. Glad to have the manufacturers warranty on open-box laptops. Battery life is pretty bad so far but I might have to give it more time for the system to optimize itself to my needs. 15" model is $500 more for 16gb extra of ram -_-
