I recently purchased a high-end Alienware laptop with the expectation that it would be a long-term investment. Unfortunately, the machine stopped working in less than two weeks, which was extremely disappointing considering the price tag. However, I must commend BestBuy's efficient after-sales service. They provided me with a replacement unit with minimal hassle, which alleviated my initial frustration. Now, although I have a new laptop in my hands, my confidence in the product's quality has taken a hit. I hope this is an exception and not the norm for products of this caliber and price point. BestBuy, I hope this review serves as a wake-up call for both the store and the manufacturer. Consumers who invest in premium products expect exceptional performance and quality. There's room for improvement here.

I love this laptop Super fast and state of the art with all of the bells and whistles needed to handle all of my daily work. This laptop will last me for a very long time

My first gaming laptop. It is working great and play all my games great and above. I would highly recommend this laptop to anyone looking to play on ultra-high settings.

Fantastic laptop. Updated the Ram cards, had a bit of trouble but Geek Squad helped me out. Overall no complaints.

I love this laptop. It’s not as good as a desktop with the same components but it’s still amazing. I got a crazy good deal on this because it was an open box and I’ve never looked back. Thank goodness for the Best Buy total membership which makes buying open box items worry, free.

Great specs, and overall performance when in operation. However, the laptop blue screens about half the times I open the lid back up from sleep. It's pretty annoying, but from what I can tell, it doesn't impact performance.

A bit robust laptop to move around, as most 18 inch laptops. Great performance, no issues after a month of extensive use. I especially like display quality.

This gaming laptop gives you PC level performance on go I’m gonna recommend it for people who want to play games in all weather conditions.

Okay, so here is the deal. Firstly, this laptop is a BEAST…when it runs properly. Yes it can run most fps games on very high setting at 1200p with a stable 100+ frames. However, this laptop has issues with the gpu drivers. Now I am confident in saying this because I have ordered 2 of these laptops, since the first one I ordered was defected, and BOTH of them have had MASSIVE fps drops in basic games such as League of Legends and Minecraft. In conclusion, I am very impressed with its performance, however, it is not consistent and lacks in gpu driver quality and assurance.

Great on paper, not so much in reality. Stopped working a few days after purchasing. The quality of Alienware has significantly dropped over the years since going main stream and going into retail stores

It is a powerhouse for a decent price. It can run a little hot ao you may want to get a cooling pad, but I have had no issues with it.

I bought my m18 at Best Buy and immediately had major problems. It rebooted for no reason a handful of times in two weeks. It often cannot be woken from sleep and must be power cycled, especially when connected to an external monitor. Sent it back to Dell for repairs. They returned it with the backplane USB port not working and dents in the lid! The sent out a field service tech to repair that, but the computer still has major issues waking it from sleep. These issues have been going on for ~3 months now. Dell sent me a replacement unit that has the same problems. Their support structure is the worst ever, where no team knows anything about what the other teams are doing. And god forbid you should end up talking with the Advanced Resolution Team. They apologize profusely but ultimately, accomplish nothing. They won't compensate me for my many hours of work on this issue, and haven't provided a working system. DO NOT BUY!

Amazing all around its super fast speeds and storage make things simple

I was a little apprehensive buying open box, but the laptop was in new condition and is perfect. It’s super fast and the screen is great, well worth the price.

So far so good. I’m loving the screen size and power of this one so far. Bought it to hopefully improve my gaming experience and so far it’s been perfect.

Performance is top notch, it does everything I want it to do without a hitch

Works great overall but the reason for the 3 starts is cause mine keeps acting like it's lagging out or being statically acting. I'm not sure why as my husband got same one and his is fine.

Love the computer, Everything has been great. Does seem to have a speaker issue but understand Alienware aren't built for sound.

Product was an "Open Box - Excellent", which was described as looks and functions like brand new. I contacted them and asked if there was the warranty and I was told it would have the same warranty as a new item. These were all lies. It did not look brand new. It was dinged and scratched on the outside and was dusty. It did not function, The battery was totally non functional. Dell came out and replaced that. Now the complete system has frozen up. It won't even turn off with the power button. Also, the Dell tech said the warranty had started in May, but I did not get the product until August, so it did not have the full warranty as three months of the warranty had expired before I purchased it. I HATE being lied to! I will never again buy an open box product from Best Buy!
