Second Time They Got It Right

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I took advantage of the cyber-Monday deals to buy this computer and was really looking forward to getting a nice high-end Alienware laptop as I had heard good things about them. When I got it I was extremely disappointed when I got it home to find that only the solid state harddrive was working. The 1 TB drive was a dud. After a few days of wrestling with the issue I finally took it in to the Geek Squad where they confirmed it was just a bad harddrive to begin with. I had to return it and get another one ordered which because of the holiday season, at the time of writing this, I still have not received it and have no idea how much longer I will have to wait. At least they were able to give me the same cyber-Monday discount on the second computer. I'm still less than thrilled with my first Alienware experience so far. A high-end gaming machine like that should have worked perfectly out of the box.

laptop is great at first but video broke
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.when i first got the laptop it was amazing, fast, threw every game at it, picture quality is beautiful, sounds breath taking but after using it for a week....the fps dropped more than half. i returned it and got placed on some sort of list of future returns won't be honor anymore. they made me sign an agreement... i'm very not happy with best buy as i spend a ton of money at best buy regularly. why would i buy anything from best buy anymore if i can't return anything anymore?? :(

It should be noted that depending on the game you are playing, some of the settings could cause the FPS to drop, especially if they are all in Ultra. Amazing laptop

Heat problems

Mine had a problem over heating wile gaming so I can't recommend this. Could have just been my specific laptop but still it is too much money to have this kind of problem.

Posted .Hello Triforcetech - Thanks for your review and for your recent Alienware laptop purchase. If you are still experiencing issues with overheating we'd recommend the following: Tips for Proper Usage:
1. Dell does not recommend placing portable systems directly on your lap. Due to reductions in the thickness of modern portable systems, heat transfer can be an issue.
2. Using a portable system (Laptop) on a hard, flat, non-cloth surface will increase airflow and reduce heat from underneath and inside the system.
Using the portable system on blanket, pillow, or other type of cloth will cover up the fan cause the computer to overheat and can cause permanent damage.
3. It is recommended to use the portable system in a Room temperature of 0°C to 35°C (32°F to 95°F) with a Humidity level no greater than 90%.
4. Use compressed air to clean the vents on a regular basis.
5. Using a cooling pad can decrease heat and increase performance.
6. If you want to know the temperature limitations for your system, go to the Dell Support Website, look up your system model then open the user guide under the manuals link.
