I'm not sure what the issue is with the computer. It seems like there's either a corrupt installation of Windows or a CPU/Motherboard issue.
I tried pulling each RAM chip to see if one or the other was an issue and it had the same issue, so that pretty much eliminates the RAM as being the problem (though it's possible both chips are bad).
It gives a different error message each time - there's no real consistency to it. That's what makes me think it's a motherboard issue. If that's the case and it's not under warranty, it's probably not worth it to get the motherboard replaced.
The type of hard drive is an M.2 drive, which is basically a big memory chip that plugs into a specific slot . Unfortunately, I don't have a system that I can plug your drive in to retrieve the data.

Fantastic system. Case is small and sleek, can be positioned horizontally or vertically, and has neat lighting effects. The system itself is fast, easy to upgrade, and Oculus ready.
Note, however, that the description on BestBuy.com is inaccurate. This Alienware model does NOT come with a 2TB harddrive or a DVD burner. As confirmed by Dell, the only drive included by the manufacturer for this model is the 256gb SSD.

I purchased the X51 R3 about a month ago. It runs my games at high resolution and at fantastic frame rates.
I love this system all except the random crashes. It started doing this a day after I received it. Sometimes it crashes after a couple of hours of operation, sometimes after 12 hours. The average is about every 5 hours. It would crash while playing a game, watching YouTube videos, or even when coming back from AFK with no apps just the desktop.
It gets annoying. My previous $500 HP computer can run 24/7 without crashing.

Why isn't there a DVD/CD player? The unit looks great in my component rack. But after I removed the cd and dvd player, it can't fill in that gap due to the fact that it doesn't have either. When I reached out to Dell, it was pointless. Dell doesn't support this model any longer, and nothing they have is comparable.

First off, there is no 2 TB HD. only 256 PCI SSD HD. There is no optical drive for cd rom. Wish they would have the right specifications on this item before people purchase it.
