Got it on an openbox deal, computer has run every game I've tried, and the screen is crisp. Super thin, unlike my last gaming laptop and weighs less, battery life is average for a laptop but good for a gaming laptop

It's an amazing machine with few drawbacks. Pros: Neat Look, Awesome building quality, Nice screen and very impressive LED lighting going on. Great for graphic design, video editing & Gaming (of course) Cons: Battery Life normal (not really a con) Issues with software like, keyboard sometimes just stop working with no reason (have a Bluetooth near by)

the spec and the speed in this laptop is super nice. I think if you have extra cash to spent it will be an excellent gaming laptop

Would be 5 stars if I didnt need to send my computer into Best Buy totaltech to replace my motherboard and gpu. I purchased my open box for a discounted price. It was just the inconvenience for not being able to use the laptop for another 2 weeks as it got fixed. Bedt buy totaltech wasbreally worth it and was very helpful to get the computer fixed with no extra costs. The computer was awsome as well. Only thing i disliked about it was its battery life off charger.

The display and speed are amazing. My only issue so far is the fan is a bit loud when you're gaming.

This is a treu laptop replacement, meaning if this machine is meant to stay in one area a majority of the time, awesomesauce if you plan on traveling alot, this isnt the machine for you. BUT it is a very well constructed beast, beautiful 4k screen, great keyboard, decent speakers, and built like a tank on steriods. With the 4000 card series out maybe you should look at those BUT you cant go wront with a RTX 3080, enjoy this monster.

This laptop is amazing. I have a rtx 3080 with 12700k desktop and at 2k resolution it looks just as good. Frame rate at 2k with full settings on call of duty is about 116 constant fps...4k is more like 85fps. Visually stunning. But dropped a star because battery life is brutal. About an hour browsing internet without any battery saver on. Maybe 2-3 with battery saver on.

As a power user I have to admit that this is the most powerful computer I have ever owned. I am running a six monitor configuration and the graphics performance is butter smooth. With this laptop I have achieved my goal of replacing my desktop computer with something more powerful and it is indeed an upgrade. Props to the Alienware design team for such a sleek, rugged and fuctional design. I LOVE having all the ports in the BACK of the laptop as opposed to the sides. There are some minor drawbacks... I already scratched the cover by accident and am really bummed about that. The speakers are really poor sounding but I don't use them very often. The laptop can get super hot and this became an issue for a call to customer support help line. The laptop had performed a firmware update via its own update software. Following that update, the laptop back became extremely hot well over 100 degrees and the cooling fans refused to turn on. Customer support was great at helping me get this fixed by getting me booted into bios to restore the default performance settings and then running another firmware update. That fix solved the overheating with no fan issue, kudos to customer support! I am a happy customer!

Awesome Laptop if you can find them in reasonable price. It is bit heavy side but, that's what you expect from 17" gaming laptop. Very pleased with purchase.

Extremely fast, handles AAA games with ease… build quality very good as well. A little heavy, but a trade off I’m willing to make for the performance.

Very Fast for games; however, apps and software are slow to load; and some clicks take a few moments to register as action in windows 11 menus. This appears to be a Windows 11 problem.

They say the third time is the charm and in this case it definitely was. Not a single complaint except that you do have to keep this thing plugged into a power source basically at all times; the battery life is quite poor to say the least even out of the box. Great for advanced tasks like gaming on high res with high frame rates, editing music and movies and countless other tasks.

Excellent laptop! The i9 is great and the 3080 seems to handle everything at 4K.

I moved from 51M R2, and the X17 R2 is much thinner and lighter. The overall performance is great, but it is noisy compared to the 51M R2.

Nothing worked right out of the box. No start menue icons volume control wifi. Just a blank task bar. Reinstalled windows, alienware comand center all drivers. Ran for a week then the keyboard failed. Had to onscreen keyboard my way through customer support. Next week, fans failed. Would stay on 24/7 while laptop was asleep and kill the battery/cook the laptop in a backpack or case. 2 months in and it still does not work properly even after Dell sending technicians to my home to repair it. Put Dell customer service in your contacts. Ive wasted hours with customer service for this...This is the most unreliable machine I have seen since the dawn of laptops.

This is a true powerhouse of a machine - however, at the sheer cost...this is expected. A few of the downsides: the system heats up quick, the speakers sound tinny and for a 4k screen, the resolution doesn't always feel spectacular. All downsides I believe I can look past - as long as no other issues arise in the coming weeks. At this price, I'm going to be far more nitpicky with overall function of the unit. I would recommend if this is within budget.
