Love this cd, i love the way that they're going, i think it's a great direction they're heading, i have no real complaints, only one i have is, i wish they would release another "iowa" type cd. out of the tracks, the ratings by me go as followed 1. .execute.- one of they're great openings once again, but not my fav 7/10 2. Gematria (the killing name)- great track to open with 9/10 3. Sulfer- can't say anything bad about this track, one of my favs 10/10 4. Psychosocial- havn't gotten sick of hearing it on the radio 10/10 5. Dead Memories- not a bad track, had to get used to it 8/10 6. Vendetta- just like the track "sulfer" 10/10 7. Snuff- not into the slower side of the KnoT, but this one i do like 9/10 12. All Hope Is Gone- after hearing this first before the cd came out, i had mixed reviews about the cd, but those have changed, this track i just don't think was, how do i say it? put well together, start of song is great, lyrics with the music ehh o.k. 7/10 the bonus tracks: 13. Child Of Burning Time: good track, 8/10 14. Vermillion pt.2 (remix) this one i thought was a great track 9/10 15. Til' We Die- awesome track to end a great cd in my views 10/10

    Good CD Not Great

Been a slipknot fan all my life, and I say this album is good, but not great. If you are looking for S/T or Iowa this is not for you, but if you are looking for a maturing sound than this album is for you. I like corey's mixture of his singing talent into his usual "screams/grunts", i see it as him just showing us his musical talent, not making slipknot any less heavy because if you listen to their riffs on the album they are pretty heavy, not extremly heavy but heavy none the less. Anyway I enjoy this album, if you are a slipknot fan, not expecting S/T or Iowa which you should realize they probably wont ever create something like that again because they already have, than this is an album for you.

    A Great Welcome Back!

Let me just cut to the chase here. This is Slipknot's fourth major release (fifth if you count their debut M.F.K.R. album) and it's a great welcome back from the nine men from Iowa who have been away since their last record in 2004! With a great mixture of heavy metal mayhem as heard on Iowa and their self-titled album to the more melodic and softer tunes as heard on their Volume 3 album, it's surely a treat for your ears!! The band sounds that they've really have a diverse sense of writing music now rather than just being either heavy and fast or slow and experimental. They've really taken the best from their previous works and blended it together which is, All Hope Is Gone. Corey's voice is darker than ever and screams his guts out yet still manages to sing like an angel (Snuff is a great melodic tear-jerker). Overall, those of you who have any interest in Slipknot what-so-ever will NEED to pick this up and listen to it!! For the bonus tracks and additional DVD of the making of this album, it's worth the extra dough! More than likely, you will not be disappointed!! I'm sure not! I'm just eager now what they will come up with next!!!

Been a fan from the begining and I must say that this is by far there best cd to date ! I love there first cd but they have there whole life to make it so it should be that good! The sound on this cd is coming hard from so many different angles and styles and the end result is amazing. Everyone is crying about some songs sounding like stone sour. WELL IF YOU PUT JAMES HETFIELD IN SLIPKNOT THEY WOULD PROBABLY SOUND ALITTLE LIKE METALLICA. My point is that corey has been throwing in his melody since the early days, I would only expect he would grow in his talent and desire to share that with all the maggots. If all you want to hear is distortion guitars double base kicks CONSTANTLY and SCREAMING at all times THIS IS NOT FOR YOU! There are tons of no talent bands begging for your attention!!!

I have read a few pages of reviews and I went out and bought this CD tonight. I have been a fan of Slipknot since before they released their Debut (between M.F.K.R and ST) and I am not disappointed. People are so wrapped up in labeling the "sound" of this saying to "Stone Sour" or what not. Think about this for everyone who says its garbage because it sounds like stone sour... think about it under a different band name would it still be "garbage"? I would presume no. This CD is loaded with Hard, Fast, Soft and slow songs that sound very well produced with a few surprises in the song Gehenna. Slipknot started wearing masks because it was about the music not looks or labels, I think the fans should get back to their roots and remember that Slipknot is a generic label to express the emotions and will power of nine men from the mid-west. Buy this CD and stop labeling or comparing, they are Slipknot and that's all that needs to be stated.

I've been a slipknot fan for a wile, got their, CD's, Went and saw them live, and am planing to do it again But this new CD isn't Like their old stuff, and it shouldn't be expected to be like they're old stuff, it seems that they are trying new things with their music and that's a good thing But i would not recommend this to someone just getting into the slipknot, buy they're old stuff, and see where they've been, see where they're going i would also recommend that you just buy the CD, unless you like "clown's" Artistic way of recording whats happening In all, this is great for the Die Hard Slipknot Fan, to get a piece of they're new stuff, the artwork in it, and music that ties it all together is worth it But for someone just getting into it, spend a bit less on they're older stuff and really HEAR Slipknot before judging they're new Music

This is by far the best album of the year! I love the variety of the songs. Starting off with .execute. that leads into Gumatria is one of the coolest intros to an album. As the album progresses it gets softer and more stone sour like.... but dont get me wrong, the songs are very good, I'd just rather have it more scream-o. All Hope is gone ends the album very well (unless you bought the Special Edition). And of course, as we all know, Psycosocial is pretty much one of the best songs of all time. I also recommend getting the SE because it comes with more artwork, a DVD, and 3 new songs (Child of Burning Time, Vermillion Pt. 2 Bloodstone Mix, and 'Till We Die). I personally think that Child of Burning Time and 'Till We Die may be some of the best songs on the album too.

    SLIPKNOT RULES!!

This album is awesome, in my opinion. The only thing I dislike is when some of the later songs on the disc get mellow. However, looking at the music from an artistic/musicians point of view its genius. I like how slipknot switches it up. They dont sound the same in every song! This is BY FAR their heaviest album and me personally, I think that this is what the fans have been waiting for! It certainly satiates my appetite! I want more! About one week before this album came out I saw Slipknot Live! They played a few of their new songs off of this album! It was awesome! Their music is definitely made to be heard live. So for all you haters out there who think this album sucks...go here it live then make a judgement! But i digress...BUY THIS ALBUM BECAUSE IT ROCKS!!

I read mixed reviews on this and I have to say that it is exactly what I expected. It sounds like the newest Slipknot (and yes, Stone Sour) that they have produced. Corey sounds good to me, and the disc has some great music. I haven't watched the DVD yet, but the music is not disappointing if you are expecting their latest work. I would purchase it again (but without the DVD because I don't really have any desire to watch it).

ive been a die hard since the beginning and i was so ready for this album to set the world on fire...... well the most it did for me was spark a little confusion. i personally think the subliminal versus blew this new one out of the water. people were bored with the subliminal versus but all hope is gone was even worse. yeah "phsyco social" and "all hope is gone" are great songs but thats about it. unless you get the se one then you get child of burning time (my personal favorite) and the vermilion pt.2 bloodstone mix... now those are cool. i found the dvd boring at times but it was great to see them jus messin around with fireworks. i will always love slipknot and im not gunna say this album sucks cuz it really doesnt but i honestly think that this could very well be their last one... it brings that vibe that they've done all they can as Slipknot... hopefully not though. i like it but i dont think it lived to its potential. and if slipknot does make one more it will definately be better than this one

slipknot is a great metal band. they are a bunch of talented musicians.they have motivated me as a blues/jazz oriented metal guitarist.they got new mask and everything.and the album comes with a dvd, thats like having surgery and getting to keep the organ that was removed.cory taylor can sing.alot of metal bands like them scream consistonsally, but cory switches from heavy to perfect pitch.the album is amazing and thrilling.

Slipknot's All Hope Is Gone was a great album but not the greatest in my opinion. I thought all the songs were good but I was a bit used the "old" Slipknot. Great buy if you like to hear some new stuff. My favorites include V.Pt2(BSM) and Wherein Lies Continue.

    Great New Release

I've read some of the other reviews, and I disagree with some of them. Bands grow and mature, if not they will play the same sounding stuff over and over. I personally loved this release. It may not Iowa, but so what. I'd rather hear something new from them, instead of the same thing over and over. If you like Slipknot you will most likely want to get this. Great songs from a band that has yet to disappoint me.

Ok, I think that the Iowa and ST albums are awsome, some of the best albums I have ever bought but vol. 3 and All hope is gone have really disappointed me, now this album is better than subliminal verses but it still doesn't live up to my expectations. The songwriting is lacking and Corey just doesn't seem like he has his head completely into it, it's kinda like they produced this album just to appease those of us that are loyal followers and will buy their stuff no matter how bad it is. Maybe in 4 more years we will get an older sounding slipknot album, till then, I guess this will have to do...

This product is will make your ears happy from song 1 to the last song. Slipknot has such an individual style and knows how to say whats on their mind. They sing about the truth and sing about the things people dont have the guts to say out loud. Besy Buy made a good choice selling thier new album in the store.

Well... It's not Iowa or self-titled, or Mate.Fead.Kill.Repeat, but it's better than Vol. 3. Just pre-ordered All Hope Is Gone and so far title track has got me wanting more. If the rest of album is like this, will be by far better than Vol. 3, which was disappointment compared to Iowa or any live show. So far so good with this album, will post a better review after is released.
