    Instead of having to purchase and store multiple "gadgets" for foreign travel I can use my American, 110v gizmos wherever I go as long as I have the right plug adapter with me. Actually, "adapteur" was one of the first words I added to my French vocabulary after informing the clerk I needed to put an American hairdryer into a French wall. (Actually, I said "horse dryer, but that's a whole nother story.)
