Robert Redford's performance is greatly compelling - he conveys range of emotion with physical grit and determination in a one man tour de force, with the majority of his monologue coming through his physicality. The cinematography is crucial here, and it works.

Great movie in the same style as Cast Away or Gravity.

This movie was well made, the story was plausible. There were some twists to the story and the ending surprised me. The rough oceans scenes were believable. Robert Redford looks great! With very few words the story unfolded of a man determination to survive.

Robert Redford gives one of his best performances in this movie. He is the only character in the movie and deals with being isolated on his boat and the challenges that come with the decision to sail alone. I highly recommend this movie.

Since there was very little said throughout the movie by the one character the visuals pretty much tell the story…..a story of survival and determination……a battle between one man and nature/ocean…..highly recommended…..

Possibly Redford's best performance ever, it's him and only him with maybe 3-5 words in total. He just oozes with great expressions on his face and in his persona. A man who is not only lost at sea but in his life.

Excellent movie with great story. Redfords acting is extraordinary keeping you interested in the film with minimal dialog. It's good to see a movie with a good story that is not based on a true story. Recommended!

I would have gave it a Poor rating but I like movies with the Ocean storms in them such as the Perfect Storm. Robert Redford is getting too old and only says about 12 words in the whole movie. The movie starts with him in the Ocean, is all about him in the Ocean and ends with him in the Ocean. There is no one else in the movie. BORING !!!! No wonder it was not up for any awards. Save your money.

Engaging film. They didn't excellent job filming with all of the water it appeared as if you were right there on the boat with Robert Redford. You feel his desperation and loss I hope as the movie unfolds.

Well acted by one of the best in motion pictures. Mr. Redford came thru with a believable situation that could happen to any sailor of the seas. When all was lost the ending proved different!

This movie is great simply because few people in Hollywood could pull off what Robert Redford does in this movie. Without giving much away this is brilliant acting and amazing storytelling.

Redford gives a top notch performance ..the only real actor or person you see thru the whole movie would seem boring.. but he carries it with a intense performance.

With little dialog, the story drags. Someone more familiar with sailing and seamanship will find this entertaining.

This movie was a good adventure movie but bad sailing choices. Several parts were not realistic.

Very difficult movie to film, on a boat, on the raging sea and it was very easy to follow for there was little talking.

This movie is a great escape movie about human survival. Redford was outstanding and was perfect for this part.

Enjoyed the storm scene on my ht system the rest is a little drawn out.
