...Just one of the boys...
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. All The Young Dudes, beginning with Lou Reed's Sweet Jane, still holds its own against any music of the early 70's. This Bowie/Ronson produced diamond was an attempt by Bowie to breathe life back into a band struggling to hold on. He did just that. The title track (written by Bowie), plus One of The Boys to me are MTH's best. I just love the English telephone ringing! Mick Ralphs (later of Bad Company) shines on Ready For Love. This version is much better than Bad Company's. It ends with Sea Diver which is a slow, almost mournful ballad. The remastered version breathes new live into the album/cd with live versions of some of the best tracks. For 30 years ATYD has been on my top 10 albums of all time list.
