    Modern yet retro....

I have been a Duran fan since '82. Throughout the years, I have stuck by them, album by album. My favorite album, of course was Rio followed closely by the first self-titled release. The albums since those two have been hit or miss, especially with the public. Now, on their 13th release, they have recaptured the magic of the first two albums. I cannot get over how great this album is - it's modern, yet retro. This album would not be misplaced after the release of Rio (as Mark Ronson wanted this to be a follow-up to that album). Stand out tracks - The Man Who Stole A Leopard, Too Bad She's So Beautiful, Runway Runaway, Being Followed, Blame the Machines, Mediterranea, Girl Panic! and the title track. If you are a fan of Duran, or eighties music in general, you will definitely enjoy this release.

This is the band's best effort since The Wedding Album and definitely a return to their early 80's groove. "The Man Who Stole A Leopard" has become my favorite DD song of all time. "Too Bad You're So Beautiful and tracks like "Being Followed, Safe, and Girl Panic" definitely take you back to their first three albums. Great music!!

After Duran Duran's commercial failure of their previous album release, Red Carpet Massacre, All You Need is Now is a brilliantly executed return to their original New Romantic sound of the 1980's. My personal favourite on the album is most definately "The Man Who Stole a Leopard". The song itself renosates a feeling similiar to that of "The Chauffer" from their Arena album, which was released almost thirty years ago. All in all, All You Need is Now is exactly what you need in your music collection.

The albums producer Mark Ronson stated that 'he wanted to make the album that Duran Duran fans wanted to hear", I believe he accomplished his goal. This is the best the guys have sounded since the 80s, sure they had some good songs, but not since Seven and the Ragged Tiger, has Duran Duran had a solid album. This whole album is fantastic. You will enjoy this music if you love the music of the 80s, are a Duran Duran fan, or just enjoy really great pop music. Welcome Back Duran Duran and Thanks to Mark Ronson for a tremendous job, getting that old D2 sound to come through again.

As a 41 year old Duranie, this cd has been a looooong time coming. I'm not gonna sit here and downplay the output since 'A View to a Kill" but this is what we have been wanting for such a long time. AYNIN makes up for RCM and never getting to hear Reportage. If DD ever lets Justin Timberlake or any rap producers back in the studio, they may be a revolt against them! If I were DD, I'd have Mark Ronson waiting in the studio for us when the tour is over.
