I've had a few different subwoofers and subwoofer enclosures over the years, this one is not the top-of-the-line but if you're looking for a good punch with it even better value I would definitely buy this product again

This is a great speaker. For the price the quality is great. I think it sound better than the type r I had. The sound of the bass is nice and soothing. Thinking about even getting a second one because it hits so nice.

This subwoofer produces a lot of bass. It works best when you give it a lot of power. I'm pumping 600 watts through it and it can handle much more. Very clean sound and very tight for a 12" sub.

I always go for Alpine when it comes to my car audio. Great quality and good price. This sub matched with an Alpine 500 watt Amp works great together.

So I bought this subwoofer after accidentally cracking my Type R 10 inch. I bought this because I had the space in the car to place a 12 rather than the 10 to get nicer lows. The first week I broke the speaker in and within the following week the sound was great, unfortunately the first one burned out in about 2 and a half weeks. I was looking to get a Type R but Best Buy no longer has them so I just got another one. This one has been going strong for about a week now and I am very pleased with it. Nice clean bass with deep lows. Definitely recommend but concerned about the build quality as the first one burned out.

I am very pleased with this sub all the way around. I had a Polk dvc beat on it 18 months then started to back fire. I read the reviews on this Alpine dvc and talked to a geek and said it will do fine on my alpine 500 mono. He was right it is awesome for my taste in music(Korn,Tool,Disturbed,and so on). I have been beating on it for around a month now. I just changed the wire from 16gauge to 8awg and amp is staying cooler as well as sub. It is stated in manual to use 8awg for these reasons. I am a long haul driver and listen to my system about 12 hours a day and love it even more with this sub. I will buy again with no hesitation and,outstanding addition to my system.

As an Audio Ethusiast, I can absolutely say that the Alpine Type S Subwoofer is truly a high quality Product. It performs like the top of the line Type R series. Smooth Rich Bass with low distortion. This is due to the well designed basket & it’s extra excursion. I strongly recommend this Subwoofer to anyone who wants to add Profession Sound to their System. Thank you Alpine for keeping your Subs with cutting edge technology.

Great value at 75 bucks. The subwoofer definitely needs breaking in. The sub is starting to sound better and better the more I listen to it. I had the gain on my JBL mono amp turned up a little and have been increasing the gain as it's breaking in. It comes with the jumper you need to have different install options depending on the final ohms you want I can't speak to its longevity but I'll report back if anything changes
