decent resolution, horrible exposure and autofocus
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.while the resolution isn't bad on this camera it has no exposure assist at all and autofocus is random. You can not have any windows in your frame or be next to a window as it will completely blow out the window and your face. Even closing all the blinds the window still gets blown out and i have to close the curtains to get right exposure on my face. Even when lighting myself with key lights it still blows out windows and does not expose properly for a $100 webcam i would expect better exposure control and better autofocus on it. Ive had $30 webcams work better than it. Returned it.

Poor mic quality
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I found that the video quality is decent, but the Mic does not pick up my voice so I’ve had to add a standalone mic

Not even worth the discounted price
||Posted . Owned for 10 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pros: The image is alright. The auto focus works generally. Cons: The image is really grainy for me. Everything always look a little bit blurry. The auto focus is slow and doesn't truly focus at times. It's so dang bright. The base settings made me look like a cloud with any amount of light on. I had to wait until it starting getting dark out before I was not purely white. And to answer the question of "why don't you just turn the settings down?" It doesn't help, you always will look washed out in a well lit room, it has to be dimly lit for the camera to look any kind of good. The "2k" doesn't really look like "2k". It's a pretty whatever picture and the 60 fps doesn't look very good either. Basically no software support from Aluratek. This webcam is a piece of work. I've had it for at least a year now, and while it's better than no webcam, the thing has frustrated me for months with how bright the image is, and how grainy it looks when it is actually dark enough to see you. If you are like me and you saw this for a huge discount and thought it's definitely good for the price, it really isn't. TLDR: The image isn't very good, too bright, too grainy. Bad software. Works, but look elsewhere. I just bought the Anker PowerConf C200 for $50 and it's so so so so much better. I didn't realize how bad I had it until I got the Anker one. Check that one out or really any of the Logitech ones under $50 and they'll probably look at good, if not better, than this Aluratek trash.

Decent video, very poor audio
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this webcam for a teacher that needed to teach from home. Setup was easy. Plugged it in and there it was. Picture was good. A little grainy but not enough to return the webcam. Then there was the audio. Had to hold the webcam right in front of my mouth for the audio to even register. Went through every setting in Windows 10 that I could find. Nothing helped. I then took it to another computer in the house with the same results. Took it to a third computer, same results. Online support from Aluratek is almost non existent. Web searches turned up no troubleshooting assistance. It just shows up as "Webcam" in the Device Manager. Wound up returning it and buying another brand that worked perfectly. Could the one I bought have been a dud? Sure. But I needed one right away.

Test in dim light before the return window is up
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was in the market for a cheap webcam that wasn't garbage. I tried the Nexigo on Amazon that was in the lower end and it wouldn't even turn on for either my PC or Mac so I tried the local BB and found this. I have to admit, out the gate it seemed like a decent enough purchase because I situate myself looking out a window as I work so I had direct sunlight on me at all times. Well as we get into the shorter days my morning meetings are seeing less and less light. To compensate for the lack of light the camera is auto adjusting its exposure and turning me into a blown out mess as it tries to see the background behind me. Today was the first day it was really bad and I honestly opted to just turn the camera off in a meeting as opposed to look that way. This is something a single slider in the cheapest software could fix... unfortunately I am outside the return window now but this would be going back if I had the option to. Decent picture in good lighting. Awful otherwise.

Great Picture but Audio Issues
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this as a replacement for a Microsoft webcam that I recently misplaced, which worked without issue. The Aluratek has an excellent picture...very high-quality and impressive. However, the audio doesn't seem to be recognized when plugged into my HP desktop. This is problematic as I use this for work meetings. People say that they can hear me very faintly. I have been able to hold the camera very close to my mouth and people can hear better when that happens, but no one wants to see my dental work during a meeting. I have tried adjusting audio/microphone settings both on the main computer and on the program supporting the camera, but to no avail. So I'm stumped. Perhaps this is just a "me" issue, but when I plugged in an independent mike, I was able to use the camera for video with the additional mike for audio. If you're not into doing a full, Hollywood production for your meetings, you may want to try another webcam.

Trouble focusing and lighting
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This webcam is passable, but not solid for the price. It's super easy to use on both Mac and PC, just plug and play. But it has trouble tracking focus for even basic movements. You will spend a lot of time with the camera "hunting" for focus. I've had several people comment on it during meetings. It also overexposes compared to my laptop cameras. That makes everything look kind of pale and washed out. Really nails the white balance though. Last thing is that I've had issues with the built in mics. Zoom and Webex seem to register them as the lowest volume even when on max sensitivity. In summary, it's a decent choice if in a pinch. But definitely leaves a lot wanting.

Great Video / Inadequate MIC
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I use my PC internal Webcam for Zoom and Microsoft Teams calls. I wanted an external Webcam for improved video quality over the internal webcam on my HP PC. I purchased the Aluratek 2K Ultra HD Webcam since it was marketed as Ultra HD device. I did the normal "plug an play" connection to initiate for use. The video quality for this camera was great! However, the MIC performance was not great. I tried various steps in modifying the MIC setting on the PC and within Microsoft Teams, but more oft than not, others on the calls could barely hear me, or my sound quality was muffled. Toggling the MIC settings would sometimes help, but not always. I eventually had to return the product because of it's subpar MIC performance.

Way too top heavy
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The camera quality is decent but beware if you're using a tripod or mounting it to your laptop every little movement will knock it over.

Not worth, inflated price.
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this for $35 before tax 2 years ago... It was during the holiday season, but the msrp price has been jacked up thru the roof. Solid webcam, but not worth the msrp of $135 or the sale price at $65.

Overpriced with limited functionality
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overpriced for what it is. For the price, I thought that it would have speakers to produce good sound from meetings but it does not (only microphone). It was unclear from the description in the box that mentions HD Sound, but I guess it only refers to mic, not speakers. Image quality is good but I wish it had zoom function to close up as needed.

Horrible Autofocus
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Video quality is ok. The autofocus is terrible!!! It constantly adjusts focus in a way that distracting to everyone. Returning it and would not recommend unless you can ignore that distraction.

Didn't improve my video quality which was the hope
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Tried out this 2K HD camera on the idea I would get a bump up in sound and vid quality on my MacBook laptop when used in remote meetings. I returned it after a day. The camera sound was not improved, but the video quality was very poor in low light. So I changed the lighting option and that left the camera image over-exposed, but the internal camera was much improved. So, overall not worth the $140 (tax included) I paid.

Poor image quality
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pros - good price and easy to setup Cons - picture was totally washed out, no improvement over camera integrated with laptop. I tried different lighting, adjusted settings, etc but didn't make significant difference. I'm giving it 2 stars because it works. I do not believe it is worth even the sale price, given the poor image quality. I used it with Zoom and doxy.me, for videoconferencing one-on-one. I'm returning it.

There are better and cheaper alternatives
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall, the picture was fine, but keeps trying to auto focus. It is really distracting. On paper, the specs are look better than the Logitech 922, but in reality, i don't find that to be the case. The Logitech 922 is also less expensive and comes with software for tuning the camera. Unfortunately, the Logitech are frequently back ordered or out of stock at Best Buy.

Not your best option
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Really not a great webcam compared to other options. The autofocus, mentioned quite a few times in other reviews, is very odd and spotty. The focal length makes it feel very "zoomed in" so to get a typical look, it needs to be pretty far away which can be annoying.

Works well, but not the best in the assembly
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The device seems to work well so i kept it... but, the glass plate over the camera lens came off as i was unboxing it... i should have been shotting an unboxing video on youtube and it would have been funny.

No light?
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I filtered my search to include a light on the webcam and this one does not. I had never purchase one before so thought the light may be somewhere I didn't recognize. I am happy with the other item purchased from the same manufacturer.
