My son is 11 years old and has been driving me crazy for Alexa. I didn't want to spend a ton of money on the new models of Alexa that are out. The echo dot had good reviews and it turns out it is a very good device for what he uses it for.

I have the dot in my kitchen for music and to easily set calendar reminders and to do lists as these events pop into my mind. Everyone should own at least 3!

Got this for my mom for her Birthday. She's an older lady and loves asking me questions about older artist or actors/actresses (which I don't recognize the name let alone anything about them lol) ...but she loves asking alexa because she always knows the person and always have the answer. Alexa is just an overall excitement to have in any home. I have now became the best daughter ever!

I wasn’t sure if I would use this but boy was I wrong. I now have three. I use it for music, daily news, books, podcasts, general info and more in the future.

Great addition to the other Alexa products. I like the "group" feature where you can link different Alexas and play music, such as, iHeart radio and Tunein.

Alexa orders stuff from Prime account, let's me play music, syncs with phone so I can use app. Great so far, on point on answers and you can even play games

Easy to open, install and operate. The smaller speaker, for 99% of use is all you need.

Works great, with a lot of fun features. Takes a bit getting use to, learning all the things it can do. But once you’re in the know, it’s very useful. Just remember to leave a slight pause before issuing the commands, after saying “Alexa”

If u watched the non stop advertising on Black Friday thru Xmas and beyond....it might be easy to write off this device as some new tech fad that will fade. But as an introduction to a whole new world of everyday FUN possibilities....everyone should have at least an ECHO dot on the middle of their home or apt. Works great and its like adding a new family member u don't have to feed!

Bought this to help with voice control of my Hue lights. I also use it connected Bluetooth to a potable speaker to play music. Good purchase!

We have had an Echo for just over 2 years and two dots since December of this year. We wanted to add an extra dot to our vacation home withouth having to purchase a full sized echo and at first were misinformed that they needed to work in tandem with one, wrong! We put this (our 3rd dot and 4th echo) in a house 150 miles away from our home and it was a great way to extend the capability even further.

A great edition for on demand music and weather and news. Would purchase again.

Like the versatility and ease of use. It is a great complement for the original Echo and enhances Echo throughout the house for a fraction of the cost.

My wife calls Alexa my girlfriend... even though she bought it for me. Just starting to figure out all the details. Great little unit... basically invisible.

Good sound. Very tiny. Small room I prefer the larger one, but the cost was better. It was on sale. Great gift idea, but area must be small.

I needed an inexpensive way to play music through the speakers wired in my house. The previous device I was using died and wasn't that convenient to begin with. When I figured out that the Echo Dot had an output jack I bought one right away. Now I can play music through the house speakers and get the added bonus of listening to unlimited songs with the Amazon Music Unlimited service.

I bought this as a gift, then decided to keep it myself! I love it - music, news and information all with just voice commands! Best Christmas gift to me :)

This device is great for Amazon Alexa Smart home functions. It's also good for questions and getting other info. The micro phones seemed to work really well and will pick up your voice from across the room. It will play music and other audio, with decent sound. However, if you want load stereo sound, you'll need to connect via cable or Bluetooth to an external speaker or system. The only reason I didn't give this 5 stars is because there is an updated version (gen. 3) with improved features.
