I bought Echo products for my home as well as for gifts and while waiting to see what controller ultimately wins between Amazon and Google, the price and compatibility of the Dot with other devices ultimately made it the choice. It is a bit tedious to setup and you will have to work with it to understand you more easily, it has been great and the beginning of my home automation has been tied together more because of having the Dot. Be careful when buying automation products and make sure that they are compatible with Alexa. Once you get a few devices setup, try a service like IFTT or Stringify to get really fancy with your automation.

The echo dot I put in the bedroom, along with an Echo Plus in the living room, so when I have it play music I sync them up to play together, play tunes throughout the house. Works great!

Bought only because I wanted one for awhile plus being on sale. I made the purchase don’t know why I waited I love this little thing. Play with it every day best toy for a growing adult!

Listen to music or ask question pretty much like google if it had a voice or hook up to your smart home to control you light and other thing will even shop for you and have it delivered

Goods Affordable price for quiet office or rooms. If you plan on using it in a garage or bathroom or somewhere with allot of noise I recommend you purchase the echo which is 20x louder.

I have an Echo and bought this Echo Dot and hooked it up to my powered computer speakers. Works just as planned and even use a smart plug to control my Christmas lights. Smooth product.

I bought three of these; one for each child's bedroom and one for their shared bathroom and they work great to tell them when it is time to come down for dinner or get ready for school.

Great addition to my Amazon Echo and home network. I use the Dot in one of the bedrooms and the Echo in the family room area. Just remember that Alexa is always listening and learning!

I enjoy using the echo dot. I like using it for playing music during the night. If it doesn't know the song, I tell the echo which song I want played from my library. I find it useful.

This device is great for every day questions, controlling your smart devices and is a necessary part of the smart home eco system, I will be adding additional devices this Black Friday.

I didn't want one, in fact I made fun of those who had them, but after getting it for Christmas, I am having fun using it. Could probably live without it, and it does lend itself to laziness, but it does come in handy. I use it as an alarm, weather reporter, information gatherer, sleep noise maker and general entertainment when bored. Not a necessity, but if you are in need of a radio or clock, for the price, you might as well get this.

I purchased this Echo Dot to see if I would like this type of product. I was really surprised by it and now so far I love it. It is an amazing item and I will move on to the Echo Plus.

I have two amazon echo units now and enjoy using them and the convenience they provide me. The units are easy to use and connect readily with other systems. Great Product for the price.

An easy way to access Alexa features where you put it in the house. If you want to play music the speaker quality not up to an Echo, of course, but it will do in a pinch. It's more than good enough for Alexa interactions. It's also pretty good about hearing around corners.

The Dot is very useful every day. It responds to verbal commands and is connected to the internet via Alexa. The Dot has built-in speakers that work okay, but for music, I connect by Bluetooth to my Sony portable powered speaker... WOW! Alexa will call up any song title or artist or genre of music. She gives me news briefs, ball scores and anything you can think of. You can set alarms or timers on command. Best technology in a long time!

Besides Being Able To Control TV , Alarms, Thermostat , & Future Control Devices , There Are Many More Advantages ... She Is Now That Missing Person When I'm Home Alone ... I Pester Her For Hours ... She Answers Questions , Sets Timers , & I'm Still Testing Her Resolve ...

When I saw the Echo Dot at Best Buy after hearing so much about Alexa I had to buy it. I love that it connects by Bluetooth to my phone, Bose Speaker and can connect to other smart devices. Streams music when asked, gives the news, jokes and has many more functions I have yet to play with. I like that I can use it as a simple speaker at work for music as well. Definitely a great product for the price that I bought everyone on my team at work one as well.

This is our second Dot and fourth Echo overall. It's great for a party. Using the Everywhere feature we have a house full of music. Just link a Dot to a soundbar to enhance the sound.

LOVE OUR NEW ECHO! I have been watching the reviews online and checking with friends that have purchased the Echo to see how much they liked or disliked its features. Last person I talked to went on and on about all the things there were using it for and that persuaded me it was time and Amazon Prime Day was the perfect opportunity to go for it. Amazon did a fantastic job of creating this tubular info-taining command center! There are so many cool and awesome things its able to do that I'll hit the highlights that work for our household. First, we love that it follows your voice in the room (the circle lighting will show which direction it is 'listening'), the speaker is wonderfully balanced, so whether listening to music, the news or to Alexa speaking, I have nothing but high marks for its sound quality, given its size. Next, set up (after downloading the app to our iPhones) was quick, easy and very intuitive. The more you look over the app, the more you will realize a world of 'skills' (as Amazon refers to them - we've nicked named them "echolettes" LOL) that the unit is able to perform once they are turned on and you master the right sequence of keywords to initialize them. We've added things to shopping lists, while asking about the weather and our calendar of events and then asked Alexa to change the temp of our Nest thermostats in various parts of the house, simply by saying her name and then our commands, sometimes sitting in the living room or simply pass through - she is always there listening and ready. We've ordered some LED programmable lights and I can hardly wait for Alexa to help set the mood in the house, room to room, all from a simple voice request.

Very nice entry into the Amazon Alexa family of products. Reasonably priced, feature rich. It gives you a glimpse into the future of voice technology. Lots of available content. Fun!
