Nice home addition for those wanting to create a smart home environment

Better sound than the earlier versions, strange design that makes it very modern.

It does what the other did just in a smaller package. Alexa is amazing and she controls the entire house. The volume of the speaker is not real base but great for listening quietly while working from home. Very easy to set up and easy to use. Even a 3 year old can do it. I got these on sale Black Friday/Cyber Monday so the deal was amazing too. Full price I probably would not have purchased.

I upgraded to this from a puck-style Dot and sound is much better, more uniform, and travels farther. A great purchase and an awesome addition to other Echo products in my house. I have a speaker in each room now, and Iove to use the whole-house "everywhere" group to play music while I'm going from here to there doing chores.

Love my echo dot. Love that you can make hands free phone calls with it. Great for listening to music and the sound from the echo is amazing. Unbelievable the quality of sound from it no bigger than what it is. Great for info off the web as well! Fun playing trivia on it too! And does so much more.....like having it turn on different devices throughout the house.

We love our Echo dots! Super easy to use and the sound is amazing.

We have the second and third-generation echo dot in the house so felt the need to get this upgrade for the holidays to see what changes were made. For my ears, the sounds are slightly louder but not super wow improvement like going from second generation to third. It's still a great device for the money if you can get it on sale but no need to rush out to get it at the regular price.

Takes up little space and the sound is very good. Can be moved anywhere.

Much smaller than expected but the sound is phenomenal. I have almost every single version of the Echo and Echo dot in my house for an easy to use Spotify music setup to surround my upstairs with music but this little orb is the best sounding of the lot. Highly recommended and a great improve over the Dot. I hope that Amazon keeps this style for a while.

Love the new ECHO Dot 4th Gen. The sound is good for the size. I have one in the home office, kitchen, garage and bedrooms. I love that I can use my voice to control connected lights, play music, control my thermostat and home security. The thing I like the best is that I added my apple music account to amazon so I can play all my apple music by voice request through the Echo.

The 4th generation Echo Dot finally has speakers that face outward instead of down at the table so the sound improves greatly. That was the main reason for purchasing the unit as our older downward directed dot was hard to hear unless the volume was turned up very high. The unit is about the size of a softball and the 'buttons' are actually shapes so you can feel them. Other than sound quality I haven't seen any performance changes to the dot itself as I think that's more a software thing than hardware. On sale, this is a good buy, and it is a great partner to Amazon Prime. We also have SiriusXM and being able to stream it through the Dot is a nice touch.
