Love the new ECHO Dot 4th Gen. The sound is good for the size. I have one in the home office, kitchen, garage and bedrooms. I love that I can use my voice to control connected lights, play music, control my thermostat and home security. The thing I like the best is that I added my apple music account to amazon so I can play all my apple music by voice request through the Echo.

I bought one for the kitchen so I could listen to music while I cooked. Little did I know that Alexa would become my helper when I fell and couldn’t get to my phone. I was able to contact my emergency contact through Alexa and my contact was at my house within 5 minutes. I the purchased another one for the bedroom for the alarms, music and in case of any other emergency.

The 4th generation Echo Dot finally has speakers that face outward instead of down at the table so the sound improves greatly. That was the main reason for purchasing the unit as our older downward directed dot was hard to hear unless the volume was turned up very high. The unit is about the size of a softball and the 'buttons' are actually shapes so you can feel them. Other than sound quality I haven't seen any performance changes to the dot itself as I think that's more a software thing than hardware. On sale, this is a good buy, and it is a great partner to Amazon Prime. We also have SiriusXM and being able to stream it through the Dot is a nice touch.

Gave it to my best friends for xmas and they absolutely love them!! They had no idea what they were missing out on. Personally I have 3 and I will never go back to not having a virtual assistant! You will find yourself using it for every day things like music playing (amazing boost), reminders, message reads, calling, and alarms. For the price you can't say it ain't worth much more!

Slightly better sound than the previous generation, as the speaker is focused forward. It's a little bigger due to the position of the speaker, but this new styling is actually nicer

I have so many echo products . I love my echo shows. And now I got the new echo dot and it is great. I have 2 older echo dots and they are fine. But this one seems to have better sound. The only con is the cord is white. Really sticks out like sore thumb against the black echo dot. But I will not take points off for the, still a good product!
