Perfect! I needed a small speaker for a nightstand. It needed to connect to the TV so a senior woman could hear the tv without needing to always wear hearing aids. It has a great sound, connects easily and syncs speech quickly.

It's seriously stylish and incredibly effective! I mean, just look at it – it's like a little piece of modern art for my home! And the best part? It's not just a pretty face – the performance is top-notch too. The sound quality is amazing, and Alexa is like my personal assistant, always ready to help with anything I need. Whether I'm playing music, setting reminders, or controlling my smart home devices, the Echo Dot handles it all with ease. Honestly, it's the perfect combination of style and functionality – I'm totally obsessed!

Starting out with a few caveats: 1) no smart speaker / voice assistant is perfect, 2) many people have their preferred ecosystem, and 3) when that ecosystem fails, the grass is greener on the other side. With that being said, in my own opinion, Alexa currently beats Google hands down when controlling smart devices (though Google reigns for integrating its services like search, calendar, photos, etc). I had grown less and less pleased with my Google Hubs over the years, and long story short, I was eventually gifted an Echo Show. I was so impressed with its ability to handle my various smart devices when Google was failing to do so correctly, that I eventually decided to purchase more Echo devices, including this Echo Dot. This device does not disappoint. First off, the sound quality. Though this is a small device, it packs a punch. Bass is decent and song audio via Spotify is clear. Audiophiles may gripe about sound quality that isn't 100% perfect from a small smart speaker, but for the average user, streaming sound quality from this device is good enough, if not great. It's easy enough to pair into whole-house audio with other Echo speakers, but on its own it still gets the job done decently. The only drawback is the 5th gen Echo Dot lacks an aux port that the 4th gen had, but hey, if we're comparing this to a Google Nest Mini, Google doesn't use aux ports at all. Voice recognition when speaking to Alexa is decent - again, no smart assistant is perfect, and errors in communication do happen, but they appear to be relatively few on this device all things considered. My biggest complaint would be the "By the way, would you like me to blah blah blah..." additions Alexa occasionally tacks onto responses, with no real way to disable them in the app. When listening to voice commands and responding, the Dot will glow blue at the base. When your Amazon account and device settings are set up correctly, this light turns yellow to let you know you have a package delivery notification. Despite not subscribing to Prime and ordering infrequently from Amazon, I still find this quite useful. Overall I think this is a decent device, and outpaces Google in many aspects. It goes on sale pretty often so I wouldn't recommend paying full price for this unless you absolutely need to, but you wouldn't have buyers remorse if you did.

I love this in my kitchen. I use it to help set timers when i am cooking and have a lot of distractions going on. When i get up to make my morning coffee i ask her for the weather, top highlights for the day, then I play music on it to help set my mood. The speakers are good quality. No static or distortion that sometimes happens with smaller devices. I would definitely recommend. Very versatile and can do so many functions. Pairs easily with other smart devices in the home to give you voice control over those items as well. I did wait until it was on sale. They seem to have sales prices on the echoes fairly often so definitely worth the price.

This is my third time purchasing the echo dot. This was a Christmas present for my daughter. We love how convenient and helpful this device is.

Love this and a nice color and it works really well. I use it in my bathroom, so I can listen to music while showering.

Small but nice. It does look good on my table. I love the way it lights up from the bottom and has a good sound on it. Buttons are very easy to understand and light up when touched.

This is my first Alexa device and it was a great price on bestbuy.com. I've never had any smart devices for my home before and I'm still getting used to controlling things with my voice. I mostly use Alexa to control my smart lights and tv and it alerts me whenever there is movement at my Ring doorbell, which is a nice safety tool. I'm looking forward to exploring all the different things I can do with the Echo Dot.

I really like this more than I thought I would! It plays music instantly, I don't have to even mess with my tv and open a music app. Synced up perfectly with my smart Led lights on my ceiling fan. I'm normally dead quiet when it's sleep time, But having a An option to have alexa play thunderstorms and soothing sleep music is really nice.

Got it for my husband and ended up being use by the whole family. The kids love using Alexa

I love this new Echo Dot! The sound quality is so much better than the previous generation and is more responsive to my voice. However, when I tap it to pause whatever's playing, it stops then resumes for a brief second before completely pausing. A little annoying, but I don't mind - love the color too!

This Echo Dot is very nice. Color is great and sound quality is very good. Only minor complaint is they removed the headphone jack.
