Works well like an iPad mini with all the features. Good option if money is tight

Before buying this I read some reviews, so I knew of the performance before I bought it. The reason I bought it was so I had something I could play a certain game that is only available on-line but the operating system of this tablet isn't compatible with the game, big let down, back to playing on the iPod with it's tiny screen. With-in the last couple of weeks the tablet got extremely slow and would load things I never clicked on, videos, websites. So I decided to fix it so it wouldn't do it again. The best thing about it was the twenty five dollar cost for it.

I bought this during the Black Friday sale for $30. It works fine for such an inexpensive tablet. If you have Amazon Prime, this might be the tablet for you. If not, you may want to look elsewhere. For this price, you should already know you're not getting the equivalent of an iPad or Samsung tablet. It seems to be better built and slightly faster than other Android tablets in this price range. You're stuck with the Amazon ecosystem, Including the Amazon app store, which is why I think if you're a Prime member, this might be great for you, but if not, you might not like it as much. There are ways to get the Google Play Store on it (search online), but these methods may void the warranty. Since it comes with only 8 GB of storage and only around 3 GB actually available, I added a 64 GB micro SD card. In the settings, make sure everything that can be stored to external storage is selected. Mine defaulted this way, but it doesn't hurt to check. Most apps from the Amazon store will only store on the device storage or at least partially there, so it's still fairly easy to fill up the onboard storage if you download lots of apps, even with an external micro SD card. Some other things I'll mention include the "special offers," which are Amazon ads on the lock screen. You can pay $15 to have Amazon turn them off, but I don't find them particularly bothersome. How often do you sit and stare at the lock screen? It goes dark after a minute or two anyway or you can manually make the screen go dark. It comes with Alexa, which you may or may not like. If not, you can turn it off during set up or in settings afterward. Alexa requires a button push on the Fire 7. It's not always on for voice activation. The cameras are pretty bad compared to most higher end tablets or cell phones. Don't expect to take great shots. Also, the speaker is pretty bad. I recommend headphones or ear buds. The battery life is OK. It seems to get around 7 or 8 hours during mixed use. I don't like that if you leave it on, but don't use it, it still drains the battery more than my other devices or phones. The warranty is only 90 days and there are some reports of charging port problems. Overall, it's a good tablet for the money. If it cost more, I would only give it 3 stars. I bought it primarily for downloading movies from Prime for traveling. You can download movies directly to the micro SD card, then watch them while traveling without a WiFi connection. It works for me.

This Kindle Fire was purchased for my grandma so that she can watch videos at home. I simply used a micro SD card to hold the various TV shows and movies for her to watch. The tablet recognized the .mp4 video format beautifully! The tablet also has "parental controls" so that I can ensure that my grandmother won't get confused by all of the Amazon stuff. Given the price, the tablet was a good buy during Black Friday! As a side note, this Kindle Fire comes with "special offers" or ads in the lock screen.

for the price I love the way the tablet works, I've spent more money on other brand tablets and have for the past 5 days been very pleased with it, runs programs fast and also has alexa on it which is nice when i'm out and echo is at home) the size is perfect for travel and I have small hands so fits perfectly in my hands, not overly bulky, so I bought a few to give as gifts to family, only few cons, I thought it was an android based tablet so it wasn't compatible with games/programs I'd use on my older tablet, and lack of compatibility with google play, this is nice for low tech tablet or kids where you don't want to spend a ton of money, will keep this updated if I have any other issues with this product,

I purchased the Amazon Fire primarily for Kindle reading. It was easy to set up, and easy to use. The size and weight make it convenient to carry around. I still have the original Kindle tablet, so hope this one lasts just as long!

Of course this is no Ipad or Samsung tablet, but with the price you paid for (49.99), it is a good deal. The tablet is light. Although it is plastic but it doesn't feel cheap at all. The screen is bright and beautiful. The battery lasts quite long (6 hrs I think, watching Netflix). Some people complained about lock screen ad, but it didn't bother me at all. I sometimes feel it rather entertaining! It is boring when you turn on your tablet and see the same screen. With lock screen ad, different screen comes up each time.

Bought these for a non-profit I work with, as my annual donations to them. The underprivileged kids love these as Christmas gifts and I am more than happy to give them at the Black Friday special price I got on them. Love the multi-colors as well, especially the fact that I can stick more memory in them (unlike Apple) as well as get a bunch of Amazon goodies that don't normally come with all other tablets.

This tablet is good for a first time owner of a tablet. It's response is quick, has the capacity for expansion, plenty of apps available for download. Alexa is included. The battery life is way better than its predecessor. Only thing is that the camera quality is poor and you can't get third party apps in the app store e.g Google maps

If you're someone who is looking for a tablet to use for browsing, light mobile gaming and reading then this is for you. It's perfect for kids and adults of all ages. You can expand the storage and since the OS used by amazon is developed ontop of Android, you can easily down Google playstore and get access to all Google's app! So you're paying $50 and under for a HD Android tablet...it's a steal.

If you can get this on sale, they grab one. It is the perfect size for reading and traveling. I didn't need a lot of the tablet features, but I do find myself using them (i.e. watching movies, surfing the web, checking email). The 7" size is nice to hold for long periods of time. The browsing is a little slow, but it's not terribly different than my 2-year old iPhone.

I was shopping for a tablet for my mother. She uses her phone for games and social media, but she wanted a larger device, but wasnt interested in using features that may come with a much pricier tablet. This tablet is PERFECT for her. Battery lasts long, she can watch her shows, play games, and do social media while at her doctor appointments. It's light, durable, and a great price since she's on a fixed income. This tablet is so good, I'm still surprised at how good a price Best Buy had. Definitely recommend. I might even grab one myself!

We've owned older models of the Fire 7" and we didn't need to break the bank to get them. This device is definitely a bargain considering the things you can use this for. I purchased this one for my aunt whom I gifted an Echo Dot to. It makes programming the Dot easier with a Fire tablet than any other device.

I bought this for my high school student so that they would not have to carry yet another book around when they needed something to read between classes at school. It's lightweight and the battery lasts literally forever. My child loves it and so do I. Great purchase. I'd buy it again in a heartbeat.
