Kindle is a great little tablet for kids, the parental controls are a really nice feature that keeps kids safe and allows us to set limits for days of the week and times so they don't stay attached to it constantly. Only drawback we've found is that you cannot clear content for each profile to free up space, you have to delete and re-create the kids profiles if the internal memory gets close to being full. Spent lots of time with tech support and been escalated to a specialist and still no work around. That is why it only got 4 stars.

I am satisfied with the high quality of image, the pocket size, the performance, the unlimited cloud storage, and the look of this tablet. My intention to buy this tablet was the size, easy to carry around, the only problem for someone might be that all the apps are sold by the Amazon store. But basically the store has most of all popular apps and most of of them are free. I do really like this tablet and I am happy with it. And obviously the price is very good for the quality of this item.

This has been a really good tablet for my family. I was able to add profiles for me and my children. They love playing games on it, the Amazon marketplace has all of the apps they want for free or a reasonable price. We love it. It was easy to set up and to connect to wifi and runs fast.

It is the perfect size, beautiful clear HD. AWESOME KINDLE

This is by far the best tablet for the money if you travel a lot. Good compromise for those with an iPhone 6 but found the 6 Plus to be too large to carry around as a phone. The best asset is that you can download movies or TV episodes and watch them offline like in an airplane with no WiFi required. The 6 inch size is perfect for watching movies, playing games, reading books and listening to audio books. All of that for a great price. Not an iPad killer, but it does the job for casual use.

This is my first time buying an Amazon fire. I bought the new Fire HD 6 it arrived with no issues. I actually like it more than I thought I would. Very responsive, and the battery holds up well. It fits in the pocket on the go and that's what I love. Amazon's app store while it isn't Google's play is still nice. I downloaded 1 market just to get Vudu which runs perfect on this device. Speakers being mono aren't great but headphones solves that and the camera's are ok, nothing fabulous but again I don't require it on a tablet.All in all its perfect for a casual game browsing the internet, shopping Amazon and watching videos and or playing other media. It is an affordable tablet that I recommend if you are not needing a powerhouse.

once I figured out the book formats that are readable, I loaded it up and took it on the road. The included browser is kind of "meh", but the hardware behaves. Decent battery life. I use the Kindle Fire HD6 as a book reader that does more, not as a computer replacement. In the role of a book reader that does more, it excels.

My wife and I bought one of these for our 4 year old to keep her hands off our iPads. The device is perfect for small hands and is compact enough to take anywhere. We love the Kindle FreeTime feature and the variety of apps available for kids. We purchased a kid proof case and are very happy with the purchase. The only downside we have found is the Kindle OS can be a bit confusing and the battery life seems subpar.

This is our 4th Kindle Fire purchase. Each generation of tablet keeps getting better. Bought this one because of its compact size for easy travel. Great display, accurate touch screen, and to our surprise a surprising good camera for 2MP. Not quite as thin and light as our HDX model, but well built and durable feeling. The newest Mojito OS is very smooth and fairly fast. Bought on sale l, so we got the 16GB for the normal price of the 8GB. Really feel 16GB is the bare minimum anyone should consider. Would have gone higher if that option was available. The only negative we have on this tablet is that a couple of our apps which were fine on our 7" tablets won't install on the 6" tablet. Called Amazon Customer Support and they responded that they are aware of the issue and are working on app fixes to make the app work on the 6" display. I hope this is the case. As always, Amazon Customer Support was extremely easy to deal with. Best Buy did their usual awesome job of shipping and delivering the tablet by the delivery date given. Would recommend as a great basic tablet that is easy to carry.

I cannot review the kindle's performance, specs, or quality. But I can recommend it on the following terms: my 69.year old mom loves it. Granted she is pretty tech savvy (she fixes the neighbors computers) and she is glued to it. Mom was looking at tablets and bought an off brand item, but quickly returned it. For her birthday I bought her the kindle fire with the larger memory. I read reviews and compared specs and pricing, picked best buy for the ability to check it out hands-on, ability to return and getting rewards points. It's been 6 months now and she continues to rave about it. She also says the extra memory is well needed and a good value. So I recommend it as a great gift.

I bought the Kindle Fire for my 5 year old to practice Spanish on and once I figured out how to use it and found Spanish apps for her I couldn't be happier. She loves it and can navigate her site well. She is learning so much from it and it keeps her entertained and quiet while our little ones sleep during nap time.

Bought this for my 9 year old. He loves it!! He takes it every where with him.

It was a gift for my 10 year old daughter. She reads on it, plays games and watches YouTube videos. She even emails friends. She uses the alarm to wake her up. Wonderful! Now. I want one!

I originally bought this to use as an ereader, but I love the fact that I can do more than that. The screen has great quality and i love the feel of it in my hands. Very happy~!

Got this to replace my 2nd gen Kindle fire. Its a tad smaller, but faster processor and works great. Its used by my daughter for reading school related books. Works great.

I was looking for something for my 10 year old to enjoy but wasn't to childish. It has great parental controls on it so you know everything they are doing and can keep them out of places they don't need to be. Plus they can use it to text like a phone with a app down load.

I orginally bought a cheaper tablet for my father to take to chemo treatments. I returned it for the amazon kindle and I am glad I did! The battery life is great the picture quality is awesome and he can access just about anything he wants! very happy with this purchase
