I bought this 8 inch tab for its price point and good specs. Also I didn't want something bulky. Though it doesn't bite your pocket, it does more than a cheap tablet..specially if you don't mind Amazon driven ads. Size is appropriate for a reader and has pretty good portability for a video viewer apart from the access to Amazon videos. Good looking (looks better than cheap plastic)..quite responsive plus allows enough storage to help you build enough content library. All in all a great buy at such a price point.

Very capable tablet for the price. The ads are a bit annoying. The speed is ok, but it could have been faster.

I am impressed with the improvement that Amazon has made with the Kindle Fire line, coming from a Kindle Fire HD 7 second generation to this is amazing. First of it has expandable memory up to 400 GB over the base memory, awesome graphics, ALEXA, and more features. I was so impressed, I bought 3, one 32 GB unit and 2 16GB units, one for the granddaughter and one for the wife.

There are smart readers out there everywhere and even multiple readers with Amazon from different screen sizes to various features. I looked and studied many, the 8 is easy to take with me wherever I go, provides the night reading that's a must for me, and plenty of storage for all my books. Haven't even touched the streaming video apps and already so thankful for this purchase.

Got this for my dad to use Kindle Unlimited and Audible, so he can read at home on something bigger than his phone (Kindle or Nook apps, etc) for easier to see and less eye strain reading. Now when he feels like a break to read he can set aside/save his phone battery, and the laptop, and use his "dedicated" reader the Kindle Fire HD

so far so good. it was very easy to set up. just have to deal with the annoying ads. I have 63 books loaded. If they were actual books I'd need a very big bookcase. Facebook is very slow to open and I'm not impressed that you're stuck with the preloaded wallpaper. doesn't seem to be a way to move apps around like you can with a phone. oh well.

I like the price it saves verses the iPad by $400! I wish it had more apps that fit every day use like mirroring my phone apps. It allows easy transport, better viewing and the battery life is incredible. You will love it if you have kids get a protective case at let them have it. Find games, videos or even music to keep them entertained for a few hours.

I bought this tablet for my son and it works great, not expensive and good for playing games and watching Netflix and Hulu. I bought it when they were on special. It works great, doesnt freeze and the battery lasts several hours. I like that its thick and durable and not too thin and easy to break if it falls or it gets step on. Good tablet for the price.

Good tablet for relatively cheaper than others on the market. However the constant Amazon ads like on the lock screen are a bit of a downer which is why I didn’t give 5 stars. In order to disable them, Amazon charges a fee.

This tablet is great for kids. Perfect amount of memory. Sound quality is good. Very good screen resolution for watching movies, TV shows etc. and Netflix. Speed is not bad but you can notice some games lag. The reason I said but, is to much installed Amazon programs that you cant delete. Not needed for my kids to go shopping on Amazon. I would recommend this tablet for kids 10 an under.

I needed a tablet for my audiobooks that I can read with and decided to get this one since I can use it to stream on as well. I like this tablet much better than my other one- different brand. My son also has the kids edition. They are both easy to use and the battery lasts a decent amount of time- much better than my Samsung tablet.

The Fire HD 8 may be the best bargain - and value - on a tablet Great HD screen, plenty of popular apps, and a battery that never quits. The price is a real bargain for a great tablet. Perfect size! Did I mention that the battery last forever? Great tablet!

I love reading on my new Kindle Fire, downloading great books, and all the enhancements and features. I have downloaded apps that I can view TV programs I've missed. My headset works well with it so I may listen without disturbing anyone near me. I can play games while waiting for appointments... easy to carry.

I purchased "Fire HD" few days before Christmas as a gift for my son, however, I did purchase one a few years ago but had battery issue and it was a little smaller screen so I decided to purchase another one for my son. Amazon tablet with HD has great graphics, a nice 8" screen size, and a good battery life. Kids use it daily. Totally worth it.
