Easy to use, parent control friendly, my daughter likes it and always having fun being on it. It's a great idea for children.

The 7-year-old finally shattered the screen on his previous version. This one is faster, easier to use, and has some other benefits that only he can explain. Not enough to replace the previous version if it were still OK, but happy to have this one.

We upgraded to this one off an older model that got broken (stepped on). Immediately the experience felt like an upgrade! Bigger screen, newer software, robust setup and controls. Our little on the older device was able to download new stuff all the time and it was kind of a problem. This device allows us to control content much better. Battery life is great too. For the price, it'd be hard to do better for a child's tablet. HIGHLY recommend!

Pros: battery life is awesome! So helpful for our toddler to have his movies during a long flight. Seems durable. Cons: surprisingly difficult to use (maybe because this is different than my usual operating system). I don’t like that you have to keep the tablet on airplane mode in order to show the things you have downloaded—so many things come up even if you’re using the age guidelines, it’s a bit overwhelming. Also kind of annoying that you have to have the ad-free version of any streaming apps in order to download a movie or show.

I really like this tablet! I bought it for my 6yr old grandbaby and it is perfect for her size. Its not too big where she would keep dropping it (although it came with a great case), but it is big enough to see, play games, and enjoy as a kid should. I will buy another one for my other grandbaby for Christmas. Love the parental controls as well. GREAT BUY!

This tablet was perfect for my 6 year olds. They were gentle enough with the 3-7yr version with the big bulky case that i decided to get this upgrade for them and im very pleased with it! It has dropped a few times but not cracked, the case isnt super tough but its just enough for a 6+ year old. Much faster processor and easier to carry around.

While it's a great option for a child to have a tablet in a "bubble", some of Amazon's features are not customizable, which makes it more bloated than I'd like. But the free year of Kids+ is a help in offering kid-friendly material to your youngster With this version (as opposed to the little kids' one), some reading is necessary. A few notes: -No importing your existing photos/videos for the child: You can't access photos/videos that are saved locally, while you're under a child's profile. So you can't load some pics of your pets or favorite places/people onto the tablet's internal storage for the child to look at or use as wallpaper. -The cameras on this thing are pretty poor even with good light, so don't expect to be able to just capture some new super-cute photos since you can't give access to your Amazon Photos (even the Family Vault) to a child's profile. Big drawback here, esp for older kids who can see that their photos are garbage and get frustrated. -Amazon Parent Dashboard doesn't let you lock out specific content from their store: APD is convenient as a tool to see what the child is using and when, and to have app-store requests directed to your phone as the adult managing the account. So, for instance, the child can be at Grandma's house and want to download Minecraft. Amazon notifies you, and you can decline or approve it (after seeing the cost and being able to look at user reviews and description to get more info). ***However, there is no option to designate an app that you reject as one you don't want the child to see in the store again...so you can get asked--and decline--again and again. It would be nice to be able to hide those that you determine you don't want them to even see anymore. Same for being able to specify that any app that includes chat or other communication with others should not be visible/accessible--there's no setting for content-type such as this. In all, what you get is a Fire tablet in a fairly sturdy case, so it's a legitimate tablet and not some dumbed-down toy. It takes an SD card, but note that you can access content that's on the card ONLY if you're logged in as the adult; for safety, a removable storage card full of who-knows-what can't be popped in by the child to circumvent the lockdowns in the system.

I brought this for my 6 year old daughter and she loves it! I love how easy it was to set it up also have parent control. She loves how there are some games that we can play together. Especially the game “ Sketch N Guess” game where she can play on her tablet and I can it on play on my phone. Overall love it!!

My son really loves this tablet! We've had some issues getting him on YouTube, but I think it's his age & since we bought the Geek Squad option I'm gonna have them take a look. Great battery life, quite fast & tons of space. Very happy with my purchase!

Nice size for a three year old. The layout is a little different from our other tablets but not complicated. He loves it. However, if you have a little baseball or football player, I would suggest getting a better case.

Great tablet! It’s fast and super easy to use. My kids have their own kids profile on it and it’s super easy to manage it. It’s for them to get games on the profiles and they don’t have adds or anything. Love it.

My grandkids love these tablets. This is my third purchase of these tablets. The first Amazon-Fire 8” Tablet, was purchased in 2020 for my nonverbal Autistic grandchild, with the kid proof case, It Still Works. His younger sister takes it because the Amazon -Fire 7” Tablet I ordered her in 2021 was smaller and slower than his, I recently order her the Amazon-Fire HD 8 Kids Pro. I have always got them on sale. Hopefully this one is not slow, and it is a bit larger than her other one, and she will leave his alone. I am thinking on upgrading his if I catch another good sale. This is a Christmas Gift for this year.
