This device has promise, but needs a lot of work. I have several echo devices in the home, including the original 1st gen and Echo Dots, as well as other Fire TV devices. The cube tries to be both an Echo and a Fire TV, but manages to fail at both. The Echo functions are buggy, seeming to me to have both the worst microphones and worst built-in speaker of any of the Echo devices. Video performance when using it as a Fire TV is sluggish. The voice controlled interface for video is awkward, so forget us ice only voice controls and keep that remote handy. And control of video accessories is quite simply awful. Volume adjustments are based on some sort of percentage increase with no way to adjust the settings, so if you want to increase or decrease volume just a little, you have to use your TV or speaker system’s original remote. And while it will change cable channels through my Comcast set top box, the channel list Amazon uses is wrong, so you may or may not get the channel you ask for. Amazon tells me there is no way for them or me to update the channels, and that I should change channels by saying the channel number to ensure I get the right one. So now I get to memorize all 300 channel numbers I receive. And channel changing is the only cable or satellite function it can control - things like the channel guide or DVR functions are not supported. Bottom line - skip this until Amazon makes some hardware and software changes that make it truly a hands-free digital assistant and home entertainment solution, because it just isn’t there yet.

Same as stick and box lil heavy but it will do for me.

Alexa is my favorite thing since sliced break mate

Alex portion of the Fire TV Cube was great but the CPU Memory and GPU were lacking in performance. Which caused performance issues in loading the TV guide an switching Apps.

Product was highly recommend and met all my needs.

I'm still deciding on this purchase. I'm not happy

I purchase this on the first day it hit the stores and I should have waited as the store folks were not even aware it was on the shelf. I got it home and followed the setup to a letter and it was fine for a day after that it would do strange things like showing half a screen, would only control audio device sometime and appeared to reset often to find the devices. I pulled it and went back to my old device. The dust collector will be reset and returned if I have not waited to long to get rid of it.

The Cube is constant hit and miss with Alexa built in, constantly repeating requests that the dot does a better job, controlling other devices its does ok

Great device, however whenever you say her name or ask a question of someone in the room, Alexa does a search and pauses whatever you’re watching

Ended up taking it back, not ready for prime time in my opinion. But remember Alexa is constantly evolving so if you need a stream box go for it.

/with Alexa is a bold lie. Buyer beware. If you want Alexa with full capabilities you'll want to get the solo devices. This is a crippled version of Alexa and in their own hardware. I have 5 Echo Dot's, Ecobee4, and now this Fire Cube and I'm about to take it all back and sell it off to switch to another non-shady big brother brand. The primary reason for the dot's is for intercom from all the floors in my home and this nor the ecobee4 will do that. It tells me "This device isn't capable of that. Use alexa on your phone." I'm 100% sure they will have a class action lawsuit on the fact Amazon is purposely leaving out that these expensive devices are crippled. So here's what I'd need to do... buy another echo dot for next to the thermostat and another in my theater. Who will answer? You know what. These are going back and I'm getting the roku. My apps worked better on that brand anyway. Also the fire cube doesn't really control anything well with your voice. It just sucks and what really boils me over is the purposeful crippling of my hardware. Bye bye Amazon.

Took forever to get it to link with other Alexa no one new how had to do alot of research

Works ok will not control cable box , if given time maybe Amazon will work out the bugs
