This Kindle model is fantastic for anyone who just wants a reliable e-reader. Even with the lower storage size, it still holds thousands of books, which is more than enough for most readers. The screen quality is identical to the higher-end version, with the only real difference being that it’s not flush with the bezel. The battery life is also impressive—I haven’t had to charge mine yet, and it truly lasts a week or more. Unless you’re after a sleeker look or plan to read color-heavy books and comics, this Kindle is the perfect choice—lightweight, easy to use, and excellent for everyday reading.

I’ve been using this Kindle for a few weeks and really enjoy how lightweight and comfortable it is to hold. The 300 ppi display makes text crisp and easy on my eyes, and the front-light works great indoors or in sunlight. I love having 16 GB of storage so I can carry a huge library without worry. The Matcha color is a nice aesthetic touch. My main complaint: it lacks waterproofing and warm-light filter that higher models have — so I’m a little cautious reading in the bath or late at night. Overall, a solid pick for everyday reading at a good value.

Just to preface, this is my first kindle. I have an iPad Mini but always stuggled to focus on reading on the tablet and it would always overheat while reading outdoors. I did alot of research on both the basic and ppw. I ended up getting the basic and am very happy with my choice. The e-ink is very easy on the eyes and it also has dark mode. The matcha green is a very pretty color. The interface is easy to use. It is lightweight and the size is perfect to fit in my handbag for on the go reading. Only feature missing is a waterproof version! In the box: kindle, USB C charging cable and quick start guide THINGS TO NOTE: this is a ad supported device. On the lockscreen it shows recommended books. It can be removed by amazon for a one time fee. However it doesnt really bother me. To sum it up, i would highly recommend this kindle to anyone who wants something lightweight, portable and distracted free reading! This is my first Kindle. I used to read on my iPad and phone through the Kindle app. I decided to get one and went through so many video reviews on TikTok. I landed on this Kindle mostly because of the size and weight. Boy am I glad I chose this Kindle. It's lighter than my phone. The size is perfect. I can easily carry it with me anywhere I go. I cannot get enough of how light it is.

I’m a first-time Kindle user, and I’m so glad I gave it a try. Lightweight, stylish, and easy on the eyes—this Kindle is perfect for night reading in bed. The Matcha color adds a calm, cozy vibe I didn’t know I needed.

Sometimes it doesn’t sync if I’m reading from another device with my account set up, which is why I gave it 4 stars. However, I’m glad I splurged (for me) on an e-reader after researching different brands because I’m an avid reader. With that in mind, I can finish multiple books within a week & still not have to charge my Kindle- my phone would die after reading 1 book on it. Also, I like that my Kindle tracks what books I’ve read by what author in case I want to check out other books by him/her/them. Being able to pick back up where I left off is a plus for me as well. In addition to this, I can pick my font, size, and adjust my screen brightness as needed; no glare or eye strain during late night binge reading sessions either. If you’re hesitant about purchasing a Kindle for yourself or a loved one don’t be. As for myself, I’d be interested in getting the upgraded version in color once the price drops lol.

I absolutely love the matcha color! The kindle is extremely lightweight, it is easy to read at night, and there is no glare on the screen during the daytime. Having this device has increased my time reading.

I had a Sony Reader which just stopped working after at least 10-15 years. This is my first kindle, and all the issues frustrating me are probably user error. But internet suggestions do not correspond to actual device options so I’m not loving this little matcha like I hoped. I can change text size for settings screen but not reading book text. What!?! Only change margins. Pinching will zoom but then I can’t see to the edges of page. There MuST be a font setting option I’m missing. The writing is REALLY small. Or maybe if I was reading anything other than epub I’d have more text options. Will try that after I finish current epub book. And when I follow instructions online to pay to remove “special offers” (unwanted ads), the option isn’t where it’s said to be. Sigh. This is aggravating. I want a chosen screen saver, which also doesn’t seem to be an option. There was a definite learning curve to moving my purchased epub and app saved books to kindle thru individual apps like kobo etc (didnt realize I’d have to restart device) but really nice to have all books in a single location. Tiny matcha is beautiful color, great size for my little hands (see pics for size references - thinner than a pen and a cm wider in reading area than a credit card), and the only kindle with a non-black front which was the main reason (with size seond) I bought it instead of a popular paperwhite. Turning pages is easy. I read through sunset and didn’t realize it. Reading in the dark was really easy on the eyes. My old Sony ereader required a separate reading light and my iphone strained my eyes causing headaches. To be fair, sometimes I’m reading for 12 hours straight. I wish there was an audiobook sound option. I may go that direction on my next upgrade just to keep all books in one place rather than needing to use kindle app on phone. But that’s not a huge inconvenience. I love love love the interface in libby! Easy transfer to my matcha. Wish I could access libby from kindle app tho. Green is adorably girlie which I love. Found a COBAK sage cover with holding strap, stand, and folding cover that initiates standby mode. Despite the different color name (there’s a matcha color choice which does NOT match), it’s a solid color match. Not exact but easily not noticable due to texture difference - and I am highly bothered by “near” matches usually. I feel confident that I’m going to learn the settings on my lil matcha and fall in love. But it’s not love at first sight.

Perfect handheld reader. Great for keeping on myself in my purse or diaper bag so I almost always have it. Can go 2 weeks without charging. Books load very quickly and i love the green color.

I always thought I was a physical book gal… nope! Not anymore! I LOVE THIS THING!!! I will say that sometimes it is hard to remember the title of the book I’m reading because you don’t have to look at it every time you want to read it, but that doesn’t matter much. Anyway, totally worth it and highly recommended!

Very cute and the perfect size to fit in most of my bags and purses. The e-ink screen is easier on my eyes vs reading on my phone. Have been reading every day thanks to this kindle

I am absolutely obsessed with this kindle! It is the perfect size and very light to bring anywhere. I bring mine to my work on overnights mostly and have had no issues with it at all. There are several different fonts and lighting settings as well, which is really nice. I highly recommend this to any readers!

This kindle has changed my life! Before my kindle, I’d occasionally read a paper book from barnes and nobles. I’ve always enjoyed reading, but I found it hard to find time and motivation to read. Sine having my kindle, I’ve read 8 books in two months! It makes it so much fun to read, and I love that it’s so portable and cute. I can take it anywhere, and can read in the sun or in the dark in bed without any problems. I also like that theres no notifications or distractions- I can easily get so lost in a book! Pro tip: if you have a library card, you can use the Libby app on your phone to check out digital books and send them to your kindle library for free. Absolute game changer! The battery also lasts for months. I do wish it was waterproof and had warm light, but it’s not a deal breaker. The biggest issue is that it comes with ads on the lock screen. I ended up caving and paying the extra $20 to remove them. If you just want a good basic kindle, this is the device for you. Check out the other kindles (scribe, paperwhite, colorsoft) to see which is the best fit for you. Overall- I absolutely adore my Kindle and it’s changed my relationship with reading. Highly recommend.

Super light and small. Perfect for reading anywhere. It has ads which is pretty lame and to get rid of the ads you have to spend 20 buck on top of the original price. Pretty lame....

I absolutely love my kindle! I didn’t think I would use it because I have the kindle app on my Apple devices, but found that my battery would run down after a few hours. The battery life on this kindle is Amazing! It goes for weeks! It’s lightweight and so easily packed into my bag or backpack. I absolutely love it.

The best kindle for beginner readers. I’ve had mine for almost a year and I’ve read more than I have in the past couple of years. It’s portable, durable and you can read offline as well. You can adjust the fonts and everything! Such a pretty color as well!

I absolutely love this kindle! I normally read physical books but lately I haven’t felt like picking one up and flipping the pages. With the kindle I’ve read 6 books in a matter of two months and I’m working on my 7th! Definitely worth the hype, 10/10 would recommend if you’re an avid reader. Having the ability to highlight and just tap through makes it so convenient.
