Customer Ratings & Reviews

The Amazon Kindle Colorsoft is absolutely fantastic. Its vibrant color screen makes reading anything, from comics to textbooks, much more enjoyable than with traditional e-ink. The device is lightweight and comfortable to hold, ideal for long reading sessions. The battery life is excellent, lasting several days between charges. Setup was quick and easy, and overall performance is smooth and responsive. This Kindle is worth every penny.

The color trade off is so worth it in an e-reader. Setup was easy, all I had to do was connect to WiFi and sign in, my books were immediately ready for download. The quality is superb when it came to reading during the day, and using the warm light and dark mode at night to take the stress off my eyes. As an avid reader and dedicated user of the kindle, my only complaint is the battery life. I did have to return/exchange the first colorsoft because of a defect, there was a huge line on the screen, similar to crosshairs within a day of testing (inserted image exhibits). It didn’t start that way but a few hours of reading I noticed it wouldn’t go away so, I ended up getting another after dealing with a little bit of incompetence at the store, which was expected because it’s holiday season but I digress. the attendants were not very helpful asking to see a receipt before they even confirmed if they had a replacement on hand and after speaking with the manager a couple of times it turns out they didn’t have a replacement and didn’t need a receipt to confirm that, but the manager stepped in and ordered one at a sister location where I was able to pick up within the hour. With the new kindle, I find myself having to charge the colorsoft after a couple days of use, which doesn’t necessarily bother me because I’m mostly at home but I notice just simply scrolling through the store or switching through titles a few times will affect the battery by about 10-15% compared to the Kindle basic or the Kindle Paperwhite; and then reading, of course, takes up a majority of the battery life on top of that. I’m hoping there is an update that tends to battery life in the near future. Overall pretty good product. I’m happy to see my book covers in color, it brings my library to life, and comics are more fun to read. With over 200 books in my digital library it’s so much easier to just browse and manage them on the kindle and that’s my favorite part. The price was worth it being that it was purchased during the $80 off sale (I paid $164), however for over $200 I’d think twice about buying it at its regular price because it seems a little steep for just the color trade off and sub-par battery life.

It has been working great for me ! Battery lasts a while and colors look good!

[Employee of bestbuy] This is a great device. You can adjust the brightness and warmth of the screen which is very nice. Battery life is great. If you are debating between this one and the black and white one, you would probably be fine with just the black and white kindle unless you read comics and such.

This kindle is the perfect size! Also, as a person who wears multifocal lenses, the Colorsoft offers better display/screen clarity than the Paperwhite. Not to mention, Colorsoft is the only way to go for those who thrive on highlighting passages in different colors to represent various categories.

Very simple for an ereader, I love it! Colors are dull but it doesn't bother me. Battery lasts a long time.

I absolutely love it. I had the paper white and upgraded to the color soft and truly I don’t understand what anyone complains about because this display is great and it’s crisp and I just absolutely love it. Bring it everywhere with me. I definitely also recommend getting the protection on it just because like I said if you’re like me, I throw it in my bag and I take it everywhere with me, but 100% recommend this

i absolutely love this device! the battery life is amazing and the display is gorgeous!

I like the color it is vibrant, and works so well at night. I can read for hours without any eye strain, and the battery life is exactly how it was described. Fits in my new purse or pocket with ease, and was well worth the money going from a paper white to this. Super fast and responsive compared to other kindle’s.

This is my first kindle and it was very easy to set up and link to amazon prime. I love the way you can adjust the backlight. It’s very easy to read in the dark on nights I can’t sleep. I would definitely recommend this kindle

I was initially worried about the Amazon ecosystem because I don't have any Amazon devices but the send to Kindle functionality is easy to use and makes migrating an existing ePub library painless.

I have been telling my husband I wanted a kindle for the longest because I want to get back in the habit of reading. And since I have gotten my kindle, I’ve been reading none stop. Couldn’t be happier with it. Reminds me of my younger day s

I had tried a lot of ways of digital reading, but this is the most comfortable one so far. The screen is soft and quite similar to a book page

Very happy with our purchase - easily switch between my Kindle library & my son’s library with Amazon kids. He is loving to read with color.

I didn't thought i was needing this but is perfect for a casual reader! Ive been reading a lot more now love it!

I absolutely love it, and use it daily! I am gonna gift one to my grandmother for Christmas

It's easy on the eyes when reading for a long period of time.

I love it!!!! Best investment ever!! I can pretty much read anywhere

Great product, I’m glad I purchased! Being able to read manga in color along with everything else was a nice touch

I bought this Kindle on Black Friday so it was a great deal. It’s easy to use but since this is my first Kindle I don’t know how it compares to the other versions. This one is a bit slow but overall I like it.
