    Got this for my 10 yr old granddaughter, who is an avid reader. She loves it, and was especially happy with the cool Ocean Explorer cover design

    Only reason I chose 4 stars is it tends to be a little slow / laggy and my kids don't know how to wait long to enough to have to catch up.

    It is very slow. With every swipe you have to wait a few seconds. It can be quite irriating. Its nice and compact. Perfect for reading. How ever, we did have an issue with redeeming the free 1 year subscription that comes with it

In regards to the speed of the Kindle, this could stem from a few different reasons. My first recommendation is to verify the strength of the Wi-Fi.
