Bought this for my mother. She loves to read and this a lows her to do that in bright daylight or on a pitch black night thanks to the new backlight.

Gave this is a gift to a 15-year-old going through chemo.... he loved it and has been reading a lot throughout his treatment.

I resisted getting an e-reader for a long time, because I love real books. But I finally researched and bought this one before a vacation, and it is great! In bright sun or darkness, the print is clear and easy to read, and it feels like a paper back. I'm hooked on the convenience now, as well as the selection and good prices on Kindle. Has a huge memory too!

Such an enormous upgrade from my beloved keyboard 1st gen. Kindle. Able to read so much easier now w/ the brilliant built in light that self adjusts. Took it to Kauai first week I had it, read by the pool, on the beach, no glare. Only negative is the insult of not including a wall charger w/ it, for a $200 item it's ridiculous not to throw one in.

This device is great to travel with. It is lightweight great back light. Totally recommend

It's so easy to read the Kindle Paperwhite -- whether outside, waiting in line, or in a chair or propped up in bed. It's so lightweight and easy to handle. I have had no complaints about it. Highly recommend.

Bought to replace my husband older! (with keyboard on bottom, but still works great,) Kindle! I hope he will share when we go to the beach. He uses it daily, we love it!! He is not a computer user guy at all and he has learned to purchase his books on his new Kindle!

I have finally made the jump from my old Kindle 3G. The Paperwhite is glorious! I know a newer model came out, but this bad boy is amazing. You can't go wrong buying this or the newer model. Ebooks are offered at a, surprisingly, fair price. The backlight is perfect and doesn't offer a glare. I can read this in sunlight which was a huge deal to me. Battery life is still amazing (just not as good as the old 3G, but what do you expect with a built-in backlight?).

The size is great, the light is great, the weight is great. I can't put it down. 3G can make you always online and download any book anywhere.

Bought this as a gift for my son. He loves it! Loves the size and portability of it! Much more convenient to read on this than his iPad air.
