I love the ease of use. The big screen. The ability to take notes. The highlight feature is great. It's quick and responsive. I upgraded from a signature edition paperwhite, and I am not disappointed!! I just got this yesterday, and I've already read a full book and converted all my personal notes to the scribe. Wonderful device.

This tablet is so helpful. I can make as many notebooks as I want, organize them, and declutter my home from papers. I purchased the green, 64g with premium pen and leather case. The case works as a stand and is magnetic. The kindle allows for annotations l, notes on the pages, highlights and underlining. It can create flashcards and definitions for words to increase your vocab. I have become more articulate and knowledgeable since this purchase. I also enjoy the dark mode where you can read in complete darkness! The screen is nice and big which is easy on the eyes. I can't live without it now. O love emailing the annotations and printing out my notes which also shows the page number where the annotations were made..no more rummaging through pagesntrying to locaten your highlights. I have access to thousands of books through the kindle unlimited app, offers free trial, saved me tons of money and space! If you are a reader and writer, this is for you!

This is my first kindle scribe and I’m glad I treated myself for Christmas. It’s beautiful in person too bad the matching case is back ordered… for like 2-4 months! So far im enjoying it. Hopefully that doesn’t change :)

Was looking for a tablet to help keep notes from meetings in order and capable of sending them out to others. This tablet mets those requirements with the added benefit of being able to write on documents and read books from my Amazon account. The writing on the tablet feels great and the conversion of the written text to digital is great with very few errors. Organization is great with the notebook feature, and the page formats allow me to insert the type of page I need. Its not as big as some of yhe other writing tablets but it works great for fitting in my bag without added bulk or quickly picking it up when running to a meeting.

Preferred over the ReMarkable ... AI and Reading

Purchased with a gift card from points I earned on a credit account and an upgrade from the Kindle Paperwhite. This is a HUGE improvement over my iPad pro’s overly-slick glass screen with Paperlike screen film. I’m able to write normally with far less hand strain. The AI text conversion and summarization is what set it apart from Remarkable’s entry. I would like to see the ability to link notes come to this device as a future upgrade soon.

Writing Experience
1. Writing Inside Books
• Pros: Writing directly inside books on the Kindle Scribe 2024 is seamless. The responsiveness of the stylus is excellent, making it feel natural, almost like writing on paper. Annotations are precise, and the ability to organize notes within books is a standout feature.
• Cons: It could be improved by allowing better integration of handwritten notes into other formats or exporting annotated books directly with the notes.
2. Display and Pen Experience
• The display is crisp and perfectly optimized for reading and writing. The pen feels comfortable to hold, and its pressure sensitivity enhances the writing experience. There’s no noticeable lag when writing.
3. User Interface for Writing
• Navigating between reading and writing modes is intuitive. Having a dedicated writing space inside books makes it practical for readers who like to annotate, whether for academic purposes or personal notes.
4. Additional Features
• Handwriting recognition for converting notes into text is smooth but could use improvements in recognizing complex scripts or symbols.
• The battery life remains strong even with extended writing sessions.
Overall Recommendation
If you’re someone who enjoys annotating books directly or needs a digital solution for handwritten notes, the Kindle Scribe 2024 delivers an outstanding experience. The integration of reading and writing is a game-changer for avid readers and professionals alike.

This device is probably one of the most game-changing things available for people who read books and love writing notes in the margins.
With the Scribe, you can take notes anywhere on a page using your own handwriting, and it will paste it into that position of the text like it's a Sticky-Note.
The technology works well, but it takes a while to figure out how to position your writing so you can place the note in the exact location you want. Otherwise you're stuck writing a note and having it appear slightly away from where you wanted to place it.
As for the stylus/pen, it's great. The premium pen and Scribe provide a wonderful almost paper-like feel to one's writing. And the eraser is even better than a real eraser.
Before this model and software update appeared, I was stuck making notes in my Kindle books by typing them out on the keyboard, and then the moment I finished, the note would disappear and be replaced by a tiny superscript icon. It kind of defeats the purpose of leaving a note. But that problem has been remedied with this new handwritten notes technology.
Also, the ability to underline is fantastic because I have a difficult time making straight lines, but the Scribe automatically takes my squiggly underlines and straightens them out.
There are a couple of improvements that would make this a 5-star device:
1) color screen (the monochrome screen doesn't allow you to take advantage of the 4 different highlighter colors that the Kindle app offers).
2) converting handwritten notes within a Kindle book into a cleaner font. The fact that this exists in the Notebooks section of the Kindle but not within the actual Kindle books is probably an oversight.

A Game-Changer for Reading and Note-Taking

After using the Kindle Scribe for a few weeks, I can confidently say it's a game-changer for anyone who loves reading and taking notes. The large, 10.2-inch screen makes it perfect for digital books, PDFs, and magazines, with crisp, clear text that’s easy on the eyes even during long reading sessions. The display is as close to paper as it gets, making it feel incredibly natural to read.
What truly sets the Scribe apart is its functionality as a note-taking device. The included pen is responsive, and the ability to annotate books, PDFs, or even write freehand notes is seamless. I’ve found myself using it more and more for brainstorming and jotting down ideas, as it feels almost like writing on paper but with the convenience of digital storage.
Battery life is impressive, lasting for weeks with regular use, and syncing with Amazon’s cloud makes backing up and accessing notes easy. The user interface is intuitive, and navigating through books, notes, and documents is smooth.
If you’re looking for an e-reader with a little extra – whether it's for reading, annotating, or note-taking – the Kindle Scribe is an excellent choice. It’s the perfect combination of Kindle’s classic reading experience and the flexibility of a digital notebook.

I had the older scribe version…. Wanted the new one…. So I asked Santa and since I was good, Santa came, dropped it off and went off to deliver all the other presents he still had with him! Wow…. It’s beautiful…. I love that you can read and write in any light, the 10.2" glare-free, 300 ppi front-lit display is designed for reading and writing anytime, indoors and out. And it feels like you are actually writing on paper, I can take notes, the screen is crystal clear, has built-in notebook, notebook summaries, and its true what they say: No distractions! I am still playing with it and have no plans on letting it go! Let’s not forget the premium pen that is included…. No set up or charging, all you have to do is just start writing. It’s an upgraded design from the old version, has a shortcut button, and soft eraser! Kindle NEVER disappoints me! I have always owned an Kindle and won’t stop! And talk about the color…. Metallic Jade is a beauty! I ordered the matching; leather Jade color case! I love how the high quality leather ages and develops a unique aged appearance over time; forming a patina… it’s like antique distressed leather which is my favorite! I Love My Kindle Scribe! How can you go wrong when you have a a Kindle and a notebook, all in one. Thank you to my Santa Hector (Written by Hector’s wife)

I write this having never experienced any other e-ink note-taking device. I have extensive experience with every other paperwhite reader though. Kindle hands down make the best paperwhite readers and this one is probably the best, most fluid reader I've had...and if you get the right case (NOT the folio kindle sells for 60 dollars, see my review of that under the item for more), it's quite comfortable even as just a large paperwhite reader. Obviously, if you're buying this you're not just in it for a paperwhite reader, if that's the case I recommend the 11th gen kindle paperwhite (I don't recommend the Oasis because its battery life is not nearly as good as the 10th or 11th gen, I've used them all, so I speak from experience), it's much more affordable than a scribe. Back to this scribe, it's awesome when taking notes and editing novels. You can send your own novels to the device, though I did have some trial and error doing so. I found that sending as word doc was the best because it presents your work as a book...with pdf I didn’t like how when I zoomed in it didn’t readjust to the pages etc. The scribe is super responsive and I like how the fountain pen makes my handwriting a little neater some how. I am looking forward to the update that's on the way that will let your in book notes STAY where you put them. It's annoying how it will throw the note box just wherever as it is now. I also look forward to having a place on the side to make notes, which they said will be coming soon. If you have the original scibe, I don't see the point in upgrading because all of the updates will be coming to you too, but I bought this because I didn't have any scribe. Overall, this is a solid purchase and is a bit less than the remarkable paper pro...for what I need it for, I couldn't justify spending the extra money on a remarkable etc.

I love the size of the screen on this kindle and its quick refresh rate when you turn to the next page. The green color is gorgeous and the writing experience is amazing. It feels like you’re really writing on paper. You can feel the friction on the tip of the stylus. Also, you can erase by using the eraser end and that eraser gives a bit and it too feels like a real eraser! I can go between reading my books and then writi g in the notebook section. I highly recommend this device.

At my opinion those e-reader Amazon should give for free. The reason why, because it sticks only with amazon kindle books. You CAN NOT to use any other than amazon subscription services. for Example O'Reilly Media, `epic!` or other online reading book services. ONLY AMAZON BOOKS. You have to buy books from them to read or useless kindle unlimited subscription you need to pay for it.
To take just notes, I think has other options not such expensive like this item.
Disappointed on my purchase.
