Excellent "bang for your buck", noticable improvement in my PC from a slightly lower spec processor it replaced.

This is the lower end of the new AMD 3000 series, however it is misleading because it is a 2nd gen Ryzen processor. It is bridging the gap so I don't think there is much difference from the 2nd and 3rd gen for the Ryzen 3.

The 3200G is a smidge dated now, at least in comparison to the 3100 and 3300x (though I'm still pretty certain the latter is just a unicorn, never to be seen in the wild.) However, even still at the price to performance ratio it is great for a starter build. This went into my daughter's first computer, and she could not be happier to have her own machine now. That said, the general CPU shortage lately has made it difficult to find at MSRP, and I would never pay more than MSRP for this part as it's not worth it. Thankfully Best Buy is pretty good about that.

Although it’s not the highest tier product, this CPU goes above and beyond my expectations for a quad core.

I needed a desktop for working at home. I had planned on getting a Ryzen 5 but they were sold out at the time so I settled for the Ryzen 3. I have been very happy with my decision. Besides work, I use it for gaming. The built in Vega 8 graphics are suitable for the gaming I do. I play Far Cry 5, Battlefield 1, & 4 with no problems. No, not at everything at high but at medium. It is good enough for my gaming.

If you're looking for an affordable processor that's current gen, that has built in video, this or the 3400G are both solid choices. I would have gone 3400 to squeeze a little more performance out of it, but it was out of stock. This was a purchase for a covid19 "work from home/learn from home" PC build for my wife's and her graduate school. Paired it with a 27" 1440p monitor and just used HDMI and everything worked easily.
