Great CPU.
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Good CPU and brand, but the fan that comes with it is hard to put on. The screws comes with spring on the end so it's hard to screw in and secure the CPU. But the CPU is great, maybe look for a different fan to attach with it.

Great Processor
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Runs too hot if you don't manage the cooling fans correctly, so there there is a bit of fan noise during active use.

Great balanced CPU, comparing to i7-6700K
||Posted . Owned for 10 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My old Z170 motherboard with a I7-6700K were sold because the Z170 blew a capacitor and some chips. The motherboard still worked but the audio was messed up and it was a potential fire hazard. Not sure why it blew. With the money I got from selling the broken mobo for cheap but the I7 got me decent money, I decided to upgrade to the ryzen 3600. In my opinion, it's the best value CPU. Plenty for light workstation work, school, multitasking, and gaming, while also being cheap, power efficient, runs fairly cool, etc. It was a better choice than to replace the mobo for the i7-6700K, even though the old I7s are still excellent CPUs. I was able to get it to 4.2Ghz on 1.29V, and my max temp is about 70C with the ryzen prism cooler. The stealth cooler for this CPU sucks but it'll be fine for most people if you're not overclocking or doing anything intense. I recommend spending $20-$40 on a good but not expensive aftermarket cooler to keep the temperatures down (and quieter). Don't spend $100 on a cooler as it's overkill and you could of got a ryzen 3700 (8 core) for the same price. B450 is recommended for this CPU as well as the power demands aren't that high, just look for a good B450 board with good VRMs and power delivery systems. Overall I didn't notice much of a gaming performance boost compared to my old i7-6700K, granted I was running a stable 4.5Ghz OC on that CPU, if it was 4.2Ghz apples to apples the ryzen 3600 would probably be faster. Oddly enough, the ryzen renders more than 50% faster despite only having 50% more cores, which means the single core performance is better. Mind you, this CPU is 65W, my old I7 is 95W. Most heavy games only use 25-40% of the CPU so no bottlenecks there. Running a 5700XT GPU on a 4K 60hz display. Should be fine with 144hz displays too. On my old I7 games would use 35-65%, especially at the 65% mark that left little room for mutlitasking. If I was recording or doing a screenshare it would easily hit 80% or a touch higher. The ryzen 3600 usually never goes above 50% load. Ryzen likes fast RAM, I recommend looking into at least a 3200Mhz kit, I was able to get my 3200Mhz RAM to run at 3400Mhz at the same timings. You'll see a significant downgrade in performance if you use slow RAM or especially single channel memory, you must have two sticks at a minimum. 3200Mhz seems to be the best value as well, slower memory is only a few bucks cheaper while faster memory is way more expensive. I have this paired with a B450 MSI Tomahawk Max, I didn't want to spend that much on a Z board and didn't need the extra features anyway. Plus I'm scared to spend a lot because my Z170 board was expensive and it blew up anyways. Kinda weird because many old PCs I know of still work today with really cheap motherboards. AMD is also in a weird spot for 2021 because the ryzen 5600X is $300 but I got this CPU for $160 on sale, it's only about 15% faster in single-core performance. So the 3000 series in my opinion is still the best value. Also, the X and XT variations are not worth it. You're paying another $50-$100 more just to get a 200mhz bump in frequency. Which only translates to like 1-2 more FPS, better to spend it on a better GPU.

Great Value CPU
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am upgrading from a ryzen 3200g. I got this new processor on sale for $199 not including tax. I have paired it with a 3060ti and I have had no problems playing any game I want. I am going to test to editing with it soon. All I can say is that this is one of the best value CPUs on the market. Also for a first time PC builder the install was incredibly easy. I did happen to get some extra thermal paste in case I messed up. This CPU performs great, stays cool, and has more than enough power to stream or record while gaming.

Good proce, great CPU
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. What can one say about this AMD Ryzen processor? It is fast and relatively inexpensive. BB had a better price than a well known online organization so I bought mine there to complete my PC makeover. The included fan cooler keeps the CPU cool, in the 35° - 45° C range. It was easy to install on the MB, doesn't take up a lot of real estate and is very quiet. It's a good package and my new build is humming along just fine. Definitely recommend the generation 3 processors, they are great performers.
