This Ryzen 5 5500 is a great upgrade from Athlon 3000G for daily tasks; opening programs and browsing the web feels quick and smooth.

It is a superb value for a CPU that mates well with my Gigabyte AB350N gaming Wifi motherboard. It does not support PCIe 4.0 but those 350 era MBs don't support it either. Performance bump of over 30% from the Ryzen 1600 it replaced. AND it makes my old rig Windows 11 compatible. However, I don't like the cooler. Too hard to install. Aftermarket tower coolers are much easier to install. Hence the one star less in ease of use.

Pretty good budget cpu good for most games and most multitasking.

I bought this a while ago and I had a little problem with putting it on my motherboard but that was my fault. After getting that fixed worked flawlessly. And I got it for a decent price

The Ryzen 5 5500 isn't breaking any records or coming in on the top of anyone's list. However, it's an extremely capable CPU when pared with a mid-range graphics card like the 7600XT, 3060Ti, 6650XT, and the 4060.
