Put it together with a NVIDIA RTX 3080 Ti graphic card on an Asus ROG Strix X570 eGaming Wifi II. My config is so powerful I’m able to run smoothly Flight Simulator in Ultra settings!

Excellent for gaming or other computing needs
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. With 6 cores and 12 threads, this CPU fills most needs starting with gaming, to other computing needs. AMD has finally caught up and even surpassed Intel. This unit is not exactly cheap, but you get a fast and powerful CPU for what you pay. Most software (other than very specialized processing) does not use more cores/threads than this CPU offers, so it will be fine to use for some time. Nice of AMD to stay with the same socket for a bit, make sure your motherboard supports this CPU (may be an issue with older B450 motherboards, where you may need an older generation CPU to update the BIOS first). Do not like the heatsink/fan that comes with it, seems to be not powerful enough for the job, I bought an aftermarket cooler, so factor that price in as well if you want to cool your investment adequately.

Great CPU, but lacking on the included CPU fan
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After much research this CPU offered the best perform on a modest budget since I had to replace everything but the GPU on my computer so I could finally enjoy the perform of a 1080TI since my old computer had bottle neck issues. The only issue I had with this, was the CPU fan. The Wraith Stealth Cooler just pushed the hot air into my casing and did nothing to actually clear it out. Overall thou the CPU is great, just had to get a better CPU fan.

The best bang for the buck
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I debated between this Ryzen 5 5600X, the Ryzen 7 5800X, and the Ryzen 9 5900X. I decided not to buy the 5800X because of the reported heat problems, and the 5900X was a lot more money. The Ryzen 9 would be better for intense video editing, but I don't do hardly any of that. Online reviews said the 5600X was almost equally to the much more expensive options in most tasks, and they usually picked it as the best buy. Plus, I liked that it only uses 65 watts of power. I've had no problems, and I'm happy with it.

Stock up please
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Like seriously, if you are on the AMD platform do yourself a favor BUY THIS CHIP (whenever it is in stock, that is). Things go out of stock for a reason. That should be a clue that it is worth your time. So next time you see it--Snag it, especially if you're a gamer on 1080p or 1440p.

Overall good
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Upgraded from an i7-4790k processor I've been using for the last 5 or 6 years. So far this new processor has been great. Runs fast, seems to be a great complement to my RTX 3080 GPU. One thing I noticed is the temperature has pretty big fluctuations--it's way more volatile than the i7-4790k. This is even with a super-overkill Noctua NH-D15 cooler. The temp will spike for half a second and cause the fans to spin up. From what I've read, the temperature volatility is to be expected. I adjusted the fan curves to avoid them spinning up unnecessarily but it's still kind of annoying. With how much the price of comparable Intel CPUs have dropped, I think those are worth considering, but I don't regret this purchase.

Excellent CPU
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's stable when overclocked, and a great value for the price. The wraith cooler that's included isn't bad, but if you're going to do some serious overclocking, you'll want something beefier.
