Best price to performance CPU from AMD
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Best value to performance. CPU you can get from AMD. What I like about this model over the Ryzen 7 series is that the Ryzen 5 uses much less power and performs very similarly when not needing the extra cores. To a majority of the population, you will still be able to play your video games or long computing power sessions, without really feeling like you're sacrificing anything. When you get into the benchmarks, I think you already know what you're looking for...the Ryzen 5 5600X is the sweetspot between performance and price for probably a vast majority of people out there.

AMD takes the performance crown
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.5600X performs great in benchmarks & games, clearly mitigating FPS dips more than before and pushing more FPS to strategy & simulation games that my i5 3570K would have choked on. The "IPC uplift" that AMD marketed as better architecture resulting better performance is very real. Overclocking is not very clear outside of PBO with some mobos, but totally possible especially with some motherboard tools. I was so glad this came with a basic wraith cooler and one pre applied application of basic thermal paste. It will hold me over with little to no overclocking until I can get an aftermarket cooler. Regarding motherboard compatability: Make sure to get one with "BIOS Flashback" that allows BIOS update from USB drive without booting the PC. Otherwise, you will need an older compatable AMD CPU to boot to BIOS, then update it. AMD may have a CPU loaner program for this purpose, and some PC shops will take care of this update for you.

Silicon lottery winner
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Easily the best $300 CPU on the market today. It will beat anything that Intel can offer currently and trade blows with their flagship that's over $500. I was a lucky one recipient of a higher grade 5600x mine can OC to 4.9 GHz stable. If he can find one at MSRP $300 buy it now.

Great cpu, but get a different cooler
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Works great, way faster than my 2700x. Giving 4 stars because the stock cooler that’s included seems to be a huge downgrade from the much larger heatsink that is on the older models.
