Moving to AMD now. Price is right and performance is great. Built my own PC so I researched the chips and made the switch. Cheaper than Intel with comparable performance. All you need is this for a high end gaming rig. Installing on the mobo (Asus Crosshair x470) was easy. I did not use the included fan, and instead went with a Corsair liquid cooler and that connected easy. If you need a new CPU, look closely at this one. Read the reviews from the PC gaming sites with the charts and comparisons. You'll likely go AMD.

This thing is a flame thrower of speed! Great rgb heat sink whisper quiet. All at the fraction of the cost on an Intel!

The first thing you'll get to appreciate upon opening the product is the aesthetically pleasing stock cpu cooler with rbg functionality. I upgraded from a 4th gen i7 so this was a huge upgrade as is but the 8 cores has offered much power and quality of life with my multi-tasking and audio rendering habits, as well as chugging out my games on extreme settings 1080p 144hz, leaving my 970 to be the apparent bottleneck.

I purchased this along with an ASUS ROG Crosshair VI Hero, 16gb Anarchy 3200 MHz RAM, paired with my previous Samsung Evo 850 500gb and GTX 1080 FE. Nothing touches this processor, did some video editing and its over twice as fast as my old AMD FX 9590. Gaming is smooth and my processor is no longer the bottleneck. Best purchase this year.

The Ryzen 7 2700X is a great cpu for the discounted price of $195. Mine stays at or near 3.9-4.3 GHz. Besides that the only thing I had to change were some windows 10 charging settings due to the CPU’s EDC being almost maxed even when it was not under load. Other than that an amazing cpu, with great value to performance.

When deciding on parts for my build I went with Ryzen because of my need for both productivity and gaming. I opted for this cpu because it seemed incredible for the price point. I have not been let down. Paired with a 2080 GPU my machine destroys projects and games and asks for seconds! Incredible cpu choice for any build still though!

Bought this CPU so I can edit 4K videos using Davinci Resolve. With the money I saved I paired with a good graphics card, sufficient memory, and fast storage. It handles all tasks I throw at it with ease. Handles the latest games too. Didn't regret going with AMD instead of Intel.

This review is a bit late, now that the 3rd Gen series has come out, but this is an amazing processor. I'm able to run cpu-heavy programs with ease and honestly nothing ever struggles. With the recent price cuts due to the 3700x this is even more of a bang for your buck.

Great processor, got it on Black Friday at a discount. Used it in my new gaming rig I was building overclocked to 4.3 on all cores. Have a custom loop on it for cooling and didn't use the stock cooler. The stock cooler is great though! Would definitely recommend anything amd.

Got this Processor on black Friday, Shipping was 2 days behind but that's cause black Friday. Processor Runs around 33c at idle, 49c while using Microsoft edge, surfing, and watching videos, 65c while gaming. I played the Anthem Closed Alpha back in December 2018 all setting on ultra, temp got up to 69c with Wraith cooler only no case fans, and GC Extreme thermal paste. The Wraith cooler is very good for a stock cooler considering this processor runs hot anyway, with a Noctua and case fans you can get 8c cooler temps. am using 650 power supply, ASRock Fatal1ty x470 motherboard , 32 gig ram, GTX 750Ti Video Card, and Corsair Carbide Series Case. Money well spent, Best Buy did not disappoint.

This CPU is a beast for both gaming and productivity. Great price and incredible stats for your money. Overclocks like a champ, but also comes with a decent boost mode and destroys any and all tasks you throw at it!

Great cpu! Thought between this and intel 8700k, but after including this in my build I’m glad I went with AMD. Easy install and though I used an AIO watercooler, the wraith cooler this comes with is great

This CPU is great for its price. I’ve got it for my build that uses an RTX card and I gatta say worth it. It runs really well and I haven’t even begun to use it to its fullest. So much room for more power

This chip is a great performer and every bit as worthy of your consideration as it's intel counterpart, the i7 8700k. Even though the 8700k is slightly better performing at games, this chip crushes it at about every other task, while still being highly capable as a gaming chip. If you use a lot of software that has highly multi-threaded workloads or do a lot of multitasking, this is the chip you want. XFR2 and PB2 are regularly giving me single core boost clocks of 4.3 to 4.4 GHz and it will do 4.2 GHz on all cores all day while gaming.

You cannot beat AMD CPU's when it comes to price vs. performance. I love my 2700x as I can run VM's, game, and stream all at the same time without maxing it out.

Great paired with a b450 and a rtx 2070. Runs 30-50. Depends if gaming! Liquid cooling would be essential. Not required. Stock wraith cooler is nice!

Installed the Ryzen 7 2700x into a previous generation ASUS CROSSHAIR VI HERO. While previous reviews and tech sites report that RYZEN 7 2000 series CPU's might not post on X370. I can say that the board I received did have 2000 series CPU ready on the front of the box. The initial bios was dated Version 3502 2018/01/30. The only release note was "Update to AGESA 1000a for new upcoming processors". I can say that the system is ridiculous paired with 2 x 8GB of Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4-3200 (needs to be set to 3200 in the BIOS), Samsung 970 EVO 256GB M.2 NVMe SSD, and XFX RX580 Black Edition OC+ 8GB GPU. UserBenchmark listed it at 82 (Aircraft Carrier) for Gaming, 135 (UFO) for Desktop, and 130 (UFO) for Workstation. Boot time is sub 5 seconds to Windows 10 1803 desktop. Absolutely recommend these parts together. All were purchased from Best Buy with Price Match guarantee from online stores. Saved me over $200 and I got to speak with actual people face to face during the process. You can't get that by shopping online.
