I was hesitant to get this CPU. I thought of maybe going with an AM5 system but my budget was not enough. So far this has been a crusher. With just a simple OC within the AMD Adrenalin settings I am hitting over 5 ghz...not a typo...hitting 5 ghz with a simple OC. Voltage does not go above 1.488, The temp stays in the low 80's or lower. I did change the wraith prism cooler which was nice but did not keep it cool enough. I was only able to hit the 5 g mark with the cheap aftermarket cooler.

I paired the RYZEN 7 5800XT with an MSI B550 Tomahawk MB and an AMD rx7700 xt video card and 32 GB DDR4 3200 memory. It is air cooled with a dual fan cooler in a 7 fan case. I run Ghost Recon at all ultra settings on a 5160x1440 ultra widescreen OLED monitor at 80plus fps. Under heavy load it runs at about 75C and idles at 35 to 42C. It's single core speed and boost speed are it's strengths. If you are not chasing bragging stats and want a solid cpu this is a good choice. The X version has similar performance. I got the XT cheaper on sale at the time, probably because the XT was not a bargain comapted to the X. The XT is overclocked just a 100mhz over the X version, so that might be a better buy for the budget conscious.
Obviously there are better options for users that heavily tax multicore processing like 4k video editing. Although with enough memory I suspect this would handle it.
NOTE: If you can, turn any top of the case exhaust fans that are in front of your air cooled cpu around so they draw cool air for the CPU. It makes a difference. Thermal studies show this. Makes no sense to exhaust cool air the front fans have just drawn in immediately pull it out the top before it ever reaches the CPU and other case components.

Got this for an upgrade to my pc and all I can say is that it made it better. Also it comes with a cooler if you didn’t know, but only has one way to fit it and my case didn’t have that part.

The 5800XT is a smart and powerful choice for anyone looking to maximize their AM4 motherboard's potential without a complete platform overhaul. It provides a significant uplift in multi-threaded performance for content creation, streaming, and heavy multitasking, making it a well-rounded workhorse. What truly makes it shine is its exceptional value, offering high-end performance that competes favorably with more expensive options, especially when found at a competitive price. For those seeking a final, powerful upgrade to their DDR4-based system, the Ryzen 7 5800XT is a fantastic and highly recommended option.

good non x3d cpu for am4 if you get it on sale really beefy stock cooler aswell it’s get pretty loud but the temps are good there is a low fan switch on the cooler itself if you care about the noise

It is a really nice cpu. I had a ryzen 5 5000 series before upgrading and im really glad i did. I havent had any issues from heat or speed. I will say, whenever i upgrade again it will be another ryzen 7 or ryzen 9 but it will be a while

Performs exactly as described, and despite what some people say, the included Wraith Prism cooler is proving to be more than sufficient. Great value imo.
Running on a B450 Tomahawk Max with 32gb 3000mHz ram, and a RTX 5070 TI. Been playing Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth in 4K on max settings with no issues.

I really enjoy the CPU. The ghz is insane, allowing me to enjoy Ark Survival Ascended in all its glory. I use it in my desktop tower gaming PC. It even came with a new fan!! I didn't expect that! I dont really have anything I dislike about it! Its just a wonderful purchase! And well worth the price! Provides an enjoyable gaming experience!

Upgraded from the Ryzen 3 3200g to the ryzen 7 5800x. Best decision ever, improved my FPS and now I can run all my games on high graphics with no interruptions, decent out of the box cooler with thermal paste already on it, easy to install, just make sure your BIOS is up to date and update all your drives, definitely recommend it

Got this to upgrade from a outdated ryzen cpu. This one has been a massive upgrade for me at a reasonable price. Paired with a 3060, i can run any of my games with zero issues and can do my work with ease.

Great cpu for the price. It’s paired with a 6800xt in my wife’s pc. Shes playing at 1080p but it could easily handle ultra 1440p. Came with a stock cpu cooler that has rgb doesn’t look bad for a stock cooler!

This is an amazing cpu for really anything, for a budget cpu you can pair it with a lot of good 1440p or even 4k gpus and you’ll still be surprised for how well it does for the price
