The new generation of processors are absolute behemoths. I upgraded from an i7-7700k, and I couldn't be happier! Then again, I'm sure I would be saying the same thing about the equivilant Intel cpu. That being said, the 7700x absolutely kills it in the video editing I usually do, and gaming is seemless.

The reviewers weren't lying about how fast or how hot it gets. Have a 240mm AIO and it boosts up to exactly 5.55Ghz on lightly threaded apps like gaming without breaking a sweat (around 70-75C) but all core it will go up to 95C draw a lot of power for AMD chip 98-138 watts from what i have seen but it doesnt throttle it just stops boosting higher. The all core runs about 5.25 so not bad at all. Amazing what a leap this was from a 3700X. The OS Experience is something you cant quantify you just click and it is already loaded and i didn't think the 3700X was slow although was bottlenecking some games. Got a 4080 and it bottlenecked them all. 7700X is a monster though I would have gone for 7800X3D if it was out. But this one is still great in similator games which I play a lot. Highly recommend for 400 let alone 350 now the ram and board costs are down.

This thing rips. Not even the most intensive games make it break a sweat. Its THE Zen 4 gaming chip and actually slightly outperforms the 7900X and 7950X in gaming. Not in productivity workloads though.
Uses around 85 watts during most gaming.
