Been gaming with this baby for a bit now and it is awesome! Runs all programs and apps great. Solid work horse for a good PC build

This is an upgrade form me from a 4th gen Intel i5, so yeah ... I noticed an improvement. The cpu itself is surprisingly weighty, but installation is a breeze.
I was pleasantly surprised to learn that a lot of the coolers for the AM4 socket also work for the AM5 socket. Best Buy does not reflect this on the website when using the filtering options, but if you inspect the cooler information on the page you can see it. So yeah, great value on display.

I upgraded to this from the 12 core 24 thread 7900X that I purchased at the release of the Zen 4 architecture. I normally play Rust on PC so I wanted to maximize frame rates. The 7800X3D was the natural selection and I've regretted absolutely nothing.
Paired mine with some fast high-quality DDR5-6400MHz RAM and I am set!

Great CPU. I tried to stay away from it since I do not do any hardcore gaming but during one of my builds I needed it needless to say Im in love with it. Does everything I need done with no problems. Plus the little gaming I do, do is that much smoother and great do to the 3d cache. It does run a bit hot but well within parameters of what is should .

This is a great processor when installed on a Gigabyte b650 AORUS Elite AX motherboard. Since I'm not using it for gaming, I'm not using the overclocking utility for the processor that comes with the motherboard, but it's nice to know that I can if I choose to do so. But as it is, with 128GB RAM installed, it serves my everyday purpose just fine and hopefully will continue to do so for years to come. One slight disadvantage is that the RAM only runs at 3600 MHz out of its 4800 MHz rating, since it is a 4-RAM stick configuration.

Solid gaming CPU. Upgraded from a 5800x and this was a jump in performance for gaming. Didn't see a huge increase in 3D Mark scores, but definitely can see an increase on FPS for all games played so far. With AM5 adding increased speeds for memory, M2, PCIE all help to improve FPS and load times. Been using almost daily for a month and only with no issues. Compared to the 5800x this CPU runs much cooler. Rarely hear the CPU fans running at full even under heavy loads.

If you're looking for a gaming CPU you probably know about the 7800x3d / motherboard issues - get your motherboard's firmware update before you do any overclocking, and you'll be fine.
As a CPU, though, boy howdy does this thing deliver as promised! Great price for incredible gaming performance. As usual, Intel is better if you need higher-end productivity stuff (drawing at 10k pixels, video rendering, etc) but it's hard to beat this price/performance as a gamer!

This CPU is fast and cool. I highly recommend for anyone who games. It is more than fast enough for my work and the the R code I run for school. I am coming from a Haswell-E so this has been a nice upgrade.
The only disappointment is in the area of overclocking. There is none to be had. Despite being an X series CPU and having seemingly lots of headroom for an overclock options are limited by AMD. Don't waste your money on a big cooler. I am considering downsizing my 280 to a 240 so I can get more HDD mounting options in my case.
