If you're building a gaming machine this is the CPU to buy. Not only does it best the 13900K in most gaming benchmarks but it also costs less and uses 90w less on average. The upside to that is you use less electricity and you don't need a gigantic cooling solution like the Noctua D-15 or Dark rock Pro 4, and certainly not liquid cooling.
I have this paired with an x670E Gigabyte Aorus Master and Corsair DDR5 6000mhz C30 Expo certified memory kit and with the latest BIOS update I have had no issues with the RAM running at the rated speed.
Coming from an Intel 11700K, I can tell the difference without a framerate counter. Some intense gaming scenes which would make the intel dip in performance, this thing handles like a champ without a stutter.
While I typically like to leave some criticism, I have none. AMD really knocked it out of the park with this CPU.

I recently upgraded to this CPU and the performance difference is night and day. Boot times are lightning fast, multitasking is smoother, and my games run better than ever. It stays cool even under load and was easy to install. Definitely worth the investment, highly recommended for anyone building or upgrading a PC!

Recently upgraded from the Ryzen 7 7800x3D to the Ryzen 7 9800x3D and the performance increase is noticeable.
I do some multi tasking/work from home and I have noticed the increase in load management.
I mainly use it for gaming.
The increase in FPS is there.
The stablity increase is there.
The low 1 percents are superior while gaming over the 7800x3D and i have had 0 stutter issues since switching.
I currently have this CPU paired witb a RTX 5080 and they work perfectly together running in 4K Ultra.
CPU doesn't run hot or appear to have any issues.
I have a Titan 360mm AIO for cooling and under full load have had 0 thermal issues.
Very pleased. Best CPU I have ever owned.

CPU has been running great! Way faster than my 5800x i had. Getting More Frames On Games that i could barely run with the 5800x. Would definitely buy again on a new build if i needed to!

Insane how good this CPU is, Im playing tarkov, Rust, Red Dead 2 and many more games at a smooth rate. Defenitely recommed this item especially for the price compared to Intel

Upgraded to this from the 5600x which, to be fair is still a decent cpu. However, when I upgraded to a 4070Ti Super, found was bottlenecking pretty hard. This chip is a beast in comparison and very happy with it. If debating between this and the 7900x3D, go for this one. Save the money and get more performance. The design of the 7900x3D actually limits how many cores can access the cache it offers. This 7800x3D is perfect and beats out most intels unless money is no object.

My experience with the Ryzen 7 7800X3D has been fantastic. My games run incredibly smooth, and the extra cache makes a noticeable difference, especially in competitive games. It's also remarkably efficient, staying cool even under heavy load, so my fans don't sound like a jet engine. Switching to this from my older processor was definitely worth it for the performance boost. I don't do heavy video editing, but for pure gaming, this chip is a monster. It was easy to set up and has been completely stable. This was a great upgrade that has taken my PC's performance to the next level.

I’ve been using the 7800X3D for a few months now, and it’s hands down one of the best gaming CPUs I’ve ever built with. The performance is insane — especially in CPU-bound titles where the extra cache really makes a difference. Games like Call of Duty, Cyberpunk 2077, and CS2 run buttery smooth with consistent high frame rates.
What’s even better is that it stays surprisingly cool for how powerful it is. I paired it with a mid-range AIO cooler and thermals have never been a problem, even during long sessions. And despite having only 8 cores, this chip punches way above its weight thanks to the 3D V-Cache.
Productivity tasks like light video editing and multitasking run fine, but this chip is clearly optimized for gamers. If you’re building a gaming PC and don’t need a ton of cores for streaming or heavy workloads, this is the CPU to get. It’s also super power-efficient, which means less heat and lower energy bills.
Final Verdict:
If gaming is your priority, the Ryzen 7 7800X3D is hard to beat — it’s fast, efficient, and future-proof for years to come. Easily a 10/10 from me.
Let me know if you want a shorter version or something more casual/formal depending on where you’re submitting it!

Bought this because the one I purchased from another online retailer was a dud. This one worked right out of the box. I did an online order with curbside pickup and it was as easy as could be. This runs my sons gaming PC with no sweat.

I switched from a Core I9 to this after it fried and I have not looked back. This is a gaming beast. It is not as good for running Windows but for gaming this is the best for your money.

Honestly imho, this is the best cpu for straight gaming. Sure, there are more expensive & higher core ones but that extra cache really improved my 1% lows. This review is after a year of owning & still going strong!

Got this CPU to build a custom rig for my nephew. This is a beast of a CPU to run for games due to the X3D cache technology from AMD. Overall it runs great out of the box but could be fine turned better through PBO and undervolting. It does run on the hot side when compared to the latest general of x3D CPUs from AMD.

This CPU is no joke! Upgraded from a 9700k and my score in 3D benchmark literally doubled. Very happy with it overall. I’ve been running Intel systems since 2015 and this is my first AMD build. Overall games play much smoother and there’s much less dips than I was seeing before. If you’re looking for an upgrade and will only be gaming it’s the way to go. Idles in the low 40s with a 360 AIO rad and hits low 60s while gaming. Would highly recommend.

don’t want to break the bank and still have amazing performance even at 4k then this is it i love how this cpu compares to other the x3d cache is a game changer don’t see me switching anytime soon

While just mid-range for highly multi-threaded productivity work, the 7800X3D is fantastic for gaming, ranking at or near the top of many benchmarks when not GPU limited. Despite being labeled as 120 W TDP, the CPU actually maxes out around 82 W in my machine and is easily cooled with a 67-70 mm tall compact air cooler in my ITX case. Water or AIO cooling aren't necessary, though a mild performance increase is available with Precision Boost Overdrive and mild under-volt settings in the BIOS.
My experience is paired with DDR5 6000 and an ASUS B650E-I ITX motherboard.

First off I want to thank Max for assisting me with my purchase, he was an online chat rep I spoke with who assisted me online. But this CPU is an amazing upgrade from my previous Ryzen chip! Thanks again Max for helping me with the purchase and the conversation!

I purchased this to keep the price of the build down. With the motherboard I have, I can upgrade to a newer CPU in the future. For the time being this gives me enough high end performance for what I am doing. I have gone back and forth between AMD and Intel. My AMD builds just seem to go better for me and the gaming performance for this CPU is really good. There are plenty of YouTube videos and ChatGPT responses to explain everything.

Look out i7 13th/14th gen. The 7800x3d has come and stolen your lunch money out from under your feet.
This chip performs about 10% better than the 14th gen i7 while simultaneously using 100w less power per hour. And the 3d cache means cheaper RAM can be used with only a 1% performance hit.
AMD is winning, and as a long time AMD fan it's nice to see it. I hope this doesn't distrtract Intel from their GPU business, man they are making some promising GPU. But anyways AMD comes unlocked, always, AMD cares about the consumer. GO AMD!
