Excellent CPU. Works great with my 9070xt. Highly recommend

The undisputed king of gaming CPUs. Its 3D V-Cache technology delivers incredible frame rates, often beating more expensive competitors. It's remarkably power-efficient and the ultimate chip for any dedicated gaming rig. An absolute marvel of engineering

Great CPU if you’re gaming at 1440p or lower and want those high frame rates. Honestly returned this and went with a 7950x instead as I needed more cores for streaming and multi tasking when having OBS and editing videos and photos. The 7800x3d was worse than my 5900x and I really didn’t see or feel the difference in 4k when it came to gaming. I saw slower boot times and some stuttering or cpu blips where it just didn’t like having all the apps and game running at the same time. Stutter galore if you’re in 4k and recording whilst gaming. I’d say go for a 7900x or 7950x if you’re doing both.

Great, powerful cpu. Beats out almost all competition in its price range, if your are looking for a new gaming cpu this should be at the top of the list. Best Buy’s delivery was fast and free.

Say goodbye to CPU limitations with this chip. Eats processor hungry games like Star Citizen and DCS World for breakfast. Make sure you immediately update your bios to the latest version to protect yourself from the infamous melting chip issue. I had a 5900x and 3080. 3080 had to be sent off for repair so I upgraded to the Aero 4070 ti. It was great, but it would not hit my target 1440 ultra settings desired fps. I noticed that most newer games like warzone and last of us would only use 70% of gpu. I decided to upgrade to am5 and get the 7800x3d with all the great reviews. WOW, I could not be happier. All of my games will now use 100% gpu with ease. I now have the 144fps in warzone that I was looking for with all settings ultra 1440 and dlss turned off! The cpu runs cooler than the 5900x while gaming, but can run quite warm when I am using cpu intensive software. Idle it is usually around 40, gaming runs in low 60's and may peak to 70. Using handbrake encoding, it will hit 84 max after an hour of encoding. I have an nzxt kraken 360 cooling it. I am using the Strix X670E-A mb and 32g "2x16" Trident Z5 neo rgb 6000 memory running 6k xmp profile with no issues!

What can I say, owning the Ryzen 7 9800x3d myself I got this one for my sister, the 7800x3D and I have to say it still blows most CPUs out of the water. Given price to performance, there are other options out there both CPUs are really good and she's had 0 issues with this one. It is very fast and will tear through any game you throw at it.

As of July 2023, if you have updated your bios, there is NO issues with this CPU in MY experience.
I installed it in a MSI X670e MB with NO issues.
I paired it with DDR5 6000 CL30 RAM with no issues.
It is EXTREMLY efficient. I tested & played Diablo4, Hogwartz & Fortnite.
Avg power draw while gaming was 40w-60w!
It uses LESS power & is faster than almost every other CPU. Also, AM5 has a CLEAR update path!

At around $449, it offers incredible value for its performance. It's even faster in gaming than some more expensive CPUs, like the Ryzen 9 7950X3D and Intel's Core i9-13900K

I recently upgraded from a 7600X to this, and between frame rate increases, and overall game performance, this CPU is totally worth the money. I'm still sticking with my ROG STRIX B650E-I GAMING WIFI and had no issues during the upgrade process.

This is hands down the best GAMING CPU out there for the price. If you game a lot, this is the CPU to get. It outperforms the competition most of the time, while being super power efficient and very cool. (Yes, the blue competitor my win on some games, but while consuming ridiculous amounts of watts and heating your home).
This CPU is super power efficient and stays very cool, any good quality air cooler and/or a 240mm and up AIO water cooler will keep it super cool. Games love the extra 3D-Vcache. If you are gaming most of the time this is the CPU to get (its even faster on games than the 7900X3D, because that CPU only has 6 cores with the extra 3D vcache, while this has the full 8 cores with it on the CCD).
Get it if you are upgrading to the new AM5 platform and you game a lot. 6000mts is the sweet spot with DDR5 memory for it!

The Ryzen 7 7800X3D is hands down one of the best gaming CPUs available right now. Its 3D V-Cache tech gives it a huge edge in gaming performance, delivering ultra-smooth frame rates, especially in CPU-heavy titles. Despite being an 8-core chip, it runs cool and efficiently, making it perfect for high-performance builds without needing extreme cooling. If your main focus is gaming, the 7800X3D offers unbeatable value and performance in its class.
